As for the Japanese otaku that you got into a bid war with (I know how annoying that can get)... sorry, but I have to say this to feel better since you won. OWNED!!! As for the new sculpt of Seiya looking funny... WTF?! The new sculpt looks like Seiya. The old-school original release ones hurts my eyes, the original Saint Cloth Myth Seiya didn't look thaaaat much like him. I dunno about the Seiya head that came with Sagittarius Aioros. But, the new Seiya in his third armor... WOW! That IS Seiya. From those eyes, to the thick eyebrows, and the hair style and color. It's a great rendition of Seiya (well looks like the Hades arc version, as for the manga version... well Kurumada has an old-school style I won't say much more on that). I just hope they don't pull a Shura. The prototype Shura looked so good, then the production one... Something went wrong with his eyes (which is why mine has brand new eye decals ). I really hope that they keep Seiya looking as good as the prototype. As for the head. I'm guessing that either the whole area with his bangs pulls out and gets replaced by one with the tiara. Or maybe he comes with another head? I really hope the new leg/hip joints work as well as they look. It would suck if they got all loose. I know that posing Shaka in his lotus sitting position can cause his legs to pop of. It was an accident! I can't wait for Aries Mu!!!! I hope the Saint Cloth Myths will continue to be released in France. I got into Saint Seiya a bit late, and Camus already came and went in Japan. Plus I still need to pick up Aioros.

I have it, I won it in an auction from this guy last month. First off, the art is AMAZING! My fiancee and I are glad we got these two books because you get art of all 12 gold saints, surplice versions of the 12 gold saints, surplice Shion, Marine, Shaina, June, the marinas, the asgard warriors, and the gods in their divine armors. Plus "midnight bliss" versions of the twelve gold saints and Shion. Apollo is deisgned much better than in the Tenkai hen, I prefer this Artemis to the tenkai hen Artemis. Also Eris looks different (reminds me of Morrigan). The second thing is that this is a Chinese artist, these books are not Japanese. Just so that you know. I tried searching my normal sources for Japanese artists and doujinshi to see if I could find it cheaper somewhere in Japan. The reason I couldn't find it was because it's Chinese! Third, if you read the guy's auction carefully you pay a $50 shipping rate no matter where the book is sent. And let me tell you, it is not next day shipping, and it's not EMS shipping either. It gets sent from HK and will arrive in about a month, in a plastic sack for protection in a shipping slip. (in other words if someone drops something on it or drops it you get a messed up cover or book). If you're going to pay $50 for shipping the least they could do is send it well protected and quicker. And the auctioneer did say that his person in HK is making extra money off the shipping (although he didn't let me know that he was going to send it slow and badly protected). However on Yahoo Japan there's a set of two of these books being auctioned for around $65 at least, so you might want to risk getting these. I haven't seen it anywhere else. As for those girls being made into figures... You can always hope I guess. Speaking of which, on the White Zeta forums in France the (unconfirmed = I'll believe it when I see pictures) next release after Cancer Deathmask, for the Saint Cloth Myths, will be Aries Mu.

I just got Capricorn Shura from the post office today (Chronopost is as bad as ever, now their delivery people can't even read. They said that I don't exist at this address, even though they had the door codes to the building and directions to which apartment I live in ). As for Shura, I haven't owned any other gold saints before, but WOW!!! The armor is so shiny, heavy, and metally! The way the armor goes on is really great. The color between the gloved hands and the armor is a bit of, but not enough for me to throw a piss fit about. It took me a little while to figure out how to put on the shoulder armor, but eventually figured it out. The cape isn't that great, but considering the price for these and all, it's alirght. Of course the big problem with Shura is the eyes... For all the great stuff they did, the eyes suck hard, as you can see a few posts up. I didn't photoshop it, it's just that the QC person or someone at Bandai suddenly got really retarded or something. All in all though, I love it!

That Leo Object looks badass in that pose! I can't wait for Christmas! I have a Leo Aioria waiting nicely wrapped under the tree waiting to be freed from his cardboard prison. And I have Capricorn Shura coming in the mail soon (if Chronopost pulls another Q-rau, I will get medieval on their collective asses with something nasty and sharp and rough). Note: If you are ever in France around Christmas time, don't go to the supermarket when they're open on sunday because of the holidays coming up, everyone acts like bigger a-holes than normally. For those of you in Paris or the Paris area, there's still a supply of Saint Cloth Myth at BHV. But they're for €50 and its just Seiya, Shiryu, and Ikki. Le Samaritaine had some for €45 but they were getting low on stock. Any concrete news on what is going to be released here in France in January? I've heard various rumors but nothing concrete...

If they make a toy of the Orguss 2 from Orguss 2, then I'm sold. Otherwise meh... I'm not a great fan of the original Orguss.

I've bought Shura used from Japan (opened once, posed, then put back and sold ). It hasn't arrived yet, but I am eagerly awaiting it. Unfortunately from what i've seen not only on the French Saint Seiya forums, but also from Yahoo Japan pics... Well, this should say it all.

I don't really care if the other companies start cracking down or not. I've had some good times watching fansubs, but a lot of the time the subbers translate just as bad as the US companies, or change the dialogue. And I can see some reasoning for the cracking down. There were a lot of guys that I used to know that would just get all the fansubs for free or cheap and keep those, never spending the money on the US releases. If a large number of people do this, there's a loss in profit for the US company. I'm really picky about what series I watch now anyway, so I don't care if fan subbing gets cracked down on. It's like people scanning manga and putting it up on the internet as a "free service". What I do care about is that the doujinshi market stays healthy and running. Leave my doujinshi alone, that's something that would never work in the US but works beautifully in Japan. I'm butting out of this thread now. "That's all I gotta say about that."

GTO the live-action TV series, I loved it. From episode one I couldn't stop watching it because I wanted to know what would happen next! Plus Onizuka in this was really badass, especially with some of his facial expressions that would crack me up. And on the plus side, I didn't have to wince looking at the character design, since the manga/anime looks like butt to me!

Take it with a grain of salt. Until we hear official word from Japan, see pictures, or some other proof, I'll believe it when I see it. Besides in the forums at whitezeta where they've been talking about it too, a number of those guys are suspicious without any proof. Hell, just before the "news" of deathmask and aphrodite being slated for release, someone had announced that it was going to be Papillon. Hopefully Bandai will release all the gold saints, BUT, if they're smart they'll release the less popular ones now and save up the really popular ones for the end... Meaning we probably won't see Mu and Saga/Kannon till the end of the Gold Saint line.

Well the Volks Neo EB-Body is really cool because it's so posable, but the problem is that you need a stand to make them stand up. They CANNOT hold a pose on their own... I know, I have one, and although it has a very posable body, it can't stay in any pose I want it to stay in... And if you were to put the weight of resin armor on it, that thing would probably slump over in its stand. Nice bodies, crap poses. Besides, the way the main body is articulated the doll is either shoving its bust into your face, or it's slumped over like "Eye-gore" (yes, Mr. What-hump). You want to pose these valk girls, not have them slumped over on some stand that's holding them up because they're passed-out drunks!

Are you accepting proposed armor designs Monkey-N? I'm interested in taking a crack at it. Since the design that you choose will have to be convertable to being made for the doll.

The bathroom is a no-fly zone for my valks, too afraid of dropping stuff in the toilet (almost dropped my glasses in a few times). My "Super-Ostrich Eating" cat on the other hand already jumped into the toilet once... The crazy freak runs all over the house and jumps into the bathtub now (toilet lids must always be left down with cats, it's a bad idea to leave that toilet lid up ). Had to wash him like all hell when he jumped in.

Actually Deleter/Obitsu, Volks, and Azone make doll heads with hair that you can cut and customize. Deleter/Obitsu makes female heads of a couple different facial types (teenager and adult), they can come with pre-painted eyes and with hair already rooted into the head. They also sell ones that have pre-rooted hair but no eyes painted on so you can put your own if you paint well enough. Volks and Azone also sell heads with pre-rooted hair, without eyes. I can't remember if they sell the heads with eyes... They probably do, but I don't like Azone because they make the faces too much like that of a little girl. Not my taste. So the basic answer: Yes you can customize these dolls to look like your favorite female anime character up to a certain limit. THese things have joints, so Ishtar with her painted on clothing might not look great with all the exposed joints. A Miria would work, Misa, Minmay, the Bridge-Bunnies. And there are other smaller companies that do cutom heads, so you can get female heads with pointy ears (elf ears, vulcan ears, whatever you want to call them). Yes I am aware that I am a nerd. But it's cool to be able to give off lots of info to people when they need it. And no, I don't work for any of the above companies. "And if you buy now... But wait there's more! But that's not all! Because they're cool! Don't get your hopes up guys, the "skin" is only over the torso area, and the boobs aren't mushable like real ones, or like silicone (uhm, "fake ones" ). It's like a thick vinyl skin and they are hollow, so no realistic boob mushing. But, the deleter ones can pose in some real cool positions! Plus they have magnets in their feet to make them stand and pose! The deleter ones are a better choice for this project, because the other dolls on the market have NO possibility as far as I know (Azone, Volks, etc, dunno about CY Girls though). As you can see from this pic, the deleters can hold some pretty cool positions. I just set her in this kick pose and she held! Max on the other hand... Uhm... He doesn't have magnets in his feet with a big metal plate under him, so it's not his fault!

This is my deleter doll vs my 1/48 VF-1A Max. There's a version with "soft" skin and mushable boobs (big boob and small boob), and a version that's normal hard plastic (non mushable boobs). And, yes, the equipment she has in the pic are cannibilized from the Yamato Solid Snake doll.
