  1. One more horrible compromise for the sake of having proportionately LONGER legs...
  2. Come on!!! What's all this? It looks like the underside of a crab!!!
  3. Ha ha ha!!! So true. They also seem to have found a cleverer way to attach the the gun to the fighter and the fighter to the stand. Seriously, I really wonder what's the deal between Bandai and Arcadia.
  4. No ono one wins, no one loses, we are talking about a toy, based on hand-drawn drawings of an imaginary ship, the proportions of which the author could never nor did he need to accurately transfer to animation, because 40 years ago it was neither easy nor important , and in fact they changed all the time.
  5. About the length of the main guns, IMO they're ok, I don't like it when they stick out too much in battroid mode... I think it looks pretty close to the line art, but considering the transformation, there's probably some degree of compromise regarding some proportions.
  6. 60cm!!??? What does it tell us about the scale? What's the length of the Arcadia one?

    Hi-Metal R

It's not a surprise because it's at least the third time they'd do that (VF-4 and VF-0 being the others I can remember now), but I could spot some minor differences between this one an the DX version...

    Hi-Metal R

Wait, what? I can see no difference between this toy and the 1/60 Yamarcadia one... It looks cool, that's a given.
  9. This is exactly the same painted 3D printed prototype, same proportions, just better posed, but with no changes at all. What a lost opportunity after all this time, I'm kind of disappointed.
  10. I love these old school Macross designs, I'm definitely getting one or more...

    Arcadia VF-5000G

Welcome back, Arcadia!!! I'm in too!
  12. Yes, the idea was to compare just proportions, not size, but I can tell you the Bandai one is going to be fairly shorter than the Yamato one, which would make the arms and cockpit even tinier, LOL! On the other side, both should be of around the same length in fighter mode, the DX owing a lot to the longer legs.
  13. The shin has always been retractable, I can't see why it would be a problem nor how it wold affect the fighter mode.
  14. I think it's worse than just the gap. IMO the whole assembly looks odd and lineart inaccurate. I hope this is one of the places to be revised by the sculptor.
  15. IMO line-art accuracy is what takes most of the "good engineering" with these pre-CAD valks.
  16. Longer legs = Shorter nose cone Fatter legs = Fatter arse. No logical reason = tiny arms and hands and extremely line art inaccurate belly plates. Decisions, decisions...
  17. Here we go guys. Please excuse the low resolution of the new pic, I didn't have anything sharper. Proportions of the actual side profile do look better. Please notice that just like in the previous pics I've closed the gap between the belly plate and the mid body.
