  1. Yamato’s doesn’t include the neck cover in this drawing and it looks like an YF-19 neck –it won’t be an issue if they release a V.2 YF-19. Dealing with anime magic must direct you to some degree of compromise. For instance, in the case of the YF-21 it was the thin legs, that pretty much everybody accepted in exchange of an overall great toy. I guess it wouldn’t be a problem to hide a neck cover in an 18m long plane, but here we are talking of millimetres in a toy already full of little tiny mechanisms for a very complicated transformation. I don’t care about a detachable neck cover if what I get is the best ever rendition of a transformable VF-19. Would’ve been better if it wasn’t the case? No doubt, but I always have a little box for every one of my VFs where I keep their missiles, intake covers, extra hands, super parts, etc., so not a big deal for me.
  2. The funny thing is that till Yamato started its Macross line I think we had never had neither perfect transformation stuff nor really anime magic accurate toys.
  3. Yes, you are right, the anime accurate shield is correct for battroid mode but it is not for fighter mode for it does not cover the arms, leading to a very gappy fuselage. Just like this: So I guess the other shield is also anime accurate for fighter mode. I can't wait to see an actual plastic one with its actual colours either. So far it is looking soooo good!
  4. I think the launch arms may be the more interesting stuff from the PE. A bridge antenna array would've been nice...
  5. Mmmmmm... I just don't know...
  6. I actually agree. I made a comment about this at http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32377&view=findpost&p=889880 some time ago. I like the colours of your first pic, the red and yellow shades look right to me.
  7. That would be similar to the VF-22S Miria custom and consistent with the anime, where both VF-22S & VF-19KAI share the same shade of red.
  8. Here we go...
  9. Yamato has already indicated that even though being anime accurate this is not the definitive colour. Apparently, Mr. Kawamori and BigWest have requested Yamato to change the colour without saying which one would be the right one. That’s why Yamato asked the attendees to their Open Showroom held at their offices last month about their preferences regarding the 5 possible shades of red they displayed alongside the painted resin prototype.

  11. So we are talking about this: The link:
  12. I had fun looking at the pictures of 2011 Wonfes at Flickr. But you don’t need to look for them; I’ve done it for you. Enjoy this and more… Here you are the links: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bat_/5425109431/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/bat_/5425711690/in/photostream/
  13. No, according to the placard by its side the Sound Booster is due to be released in July.
  14. Yeah, I guess that if Yamato does make V.2 1/48 that would probably be one of the first things they would change.
  15. I think that's it.
  16. Excellent work, Kurt! Thank you very much for sharing!
  17. Excellent work! It’s really inspiring; thank you very much for sharing!
  18. IMHO the feet are well proportionate and help the toy to have a more aggressive appearance than its clownish colours would suggest. Actually, they look big enough in fighter mode.
  19. You are absolutely right. Maybe these pics by Moeyo.com could help… No doubts about the release date now!
  20. I think you are right, and it looks like the closed faceplate is attachable.
  21. A couple of new pics from Tomopop. More of the same though... http://tomopop.com/nsfw-winter-wonder-festival-2011-yamato-17351.phtml
  22. I see "1/72 scale" in the placards next to all the kits.
  23. I'm afraid it's true. Look at this Twitpic and its no so good Google translation... http://twitpic.com/3wwzlp http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Ftwitpic.com%2F3wwzlp
  24. Very good job! Congratulations!
  25. Well, it looks like Yamato had to make some concessions in order to deal with the great amount of anime magic involved in M7. I think that what we can see behind are a couple of filler panels for the back of the upper legs, an alternate more anime accurate shield than the one used in fighter mode and the alternate face mask gimmick. I hope I am wrong and the upper leg filler panels and the neck cover used in fighter mode are not a case of part swapping Yamato does not get us use to…
