  1. Takatoku (?) rubber figurines.......26,500 JPY https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r388943415 These figurines, which appear to be the same as the figurines included in a couple of the Bandai HCM releases, supposedly were created for/by Takatoku to be included in a Takatoku branded "Super" VF-1S DYRL Hikaru-Type that was planned for release to coincide with the release of the Macross film DYRL. Unfortunately, Takatoku went BK before that happened and their molds and plans for this DYRL-tied release eventually were acquired by Bandai. Vintage Takatoku Macross VF-1 toy bundle....73,999 The bundle final auction price is arguably driven by the inclusion of the once mythical Takatoku Super VF-1S Henkei Valkyrie Series # 6. This Henkei represents one of the last Takatoku Macross Toys of the SDFM/DYRL era....the toy was most likely released after Takatoku went BK and is actually branded as a Mark Toys/Takatoku...fully licensed by BigWest. The same can be said for the planned DYRL Hikaru Super (Strike) VF-1S...conceived by Takatoku, but eventually was released by another company, this time by Bandai. No Takatoku Macross collection can be considered complete without it. It is arguably the rarest Macross toy collectible from the SDFM/DYRL era. Congrats to the new owner...and welcome to the club! http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/48033-the-super-vf-1s-henkei-valkyrie-series-6product-by-mark/
  2. The Yamato 1/48 weathered Hikaru VF-1S was also available as a mail order offered by the Macross Chronicle magazine's first run. More importantly it was bundled with the weathered SSP set, which I believe was the only way to get the weathered SSP set.
  3. Yes....which is why I pointed out "VF-1's" not "VF-1S's"....also, there is no way to keep to a specific scale if trying to demonstrate the evolution of the important changes/releases of the PT toys.... This display can actually be easily done today, if the same scheme is required for all samples, by switching to a Hikaru VF-1S DYRL type. The only problem would be some mods and part switching between a Yamato VF-1A v1 Hikaru and a VF-1S Strike Roy v1....I think these mods would not be too difficult....at least it would be easier than painting an HCM in Roy colors and waiting for a Bandai DX Roy-1S
  4. If you are trying to display the important stages in the VF-1's design and engineering since 1982, you should include a Bandai HCM in between the 1/55 and 1/60 v1.....the HCM was for a long time the ultimate in PT VF-1 toys
  5. Macross DYRL Lobby Card set.....

  6. ....or possibly a pair of Takatoku 1/55 Strike Valkyrie VF-1S figurines? So three years ago, a Yahoo Japan seller listed an odd pair of Macross collectibles. It was a pair of Hikaru and Minmay HCM figurines. Although rare to find Macross HCM figures sold individually, what made this pair especially interesting was that they were red and made of the flexible rubber material used for many of the keshigomu of the day, instead of the hard white resin-like material used for the figures included in the actual Macross HCM valkyries. To make things even stranger, the seller claimed that the figurines were actually made by Takatoku Toys! As the seller detailed in his listing (Google translation): Takatoku seems to be a privilege figure made with the schedule to be attached when the DX variable strike Valkyrie that is tailored to the theater at the end of the year was released. Because of the bankruptcy the product launch shifted to Bandai, only Min - Mei comes with a small stand with a stand figure It was not released and it seems that there has been a history of flowing out to the wholesale street of Asakusabashi at that time. In short, the seller seems to claim that the figurines were actually intended to be included with the release of a Takatoku- branded Strike Valkyrie DX (presumably the 1/55 that was ultimately released by Bandai after it acquired the 1/55 molds from Takatoku Toys/Matsushiro due to its bankruptcy). Could this possibly be true? Maybe. Takatoku Toys did release several keshigomu toys in it's Macross line. They also included keshigomu figurines in some of its toys as "freebies"....just like the seller claims Takatoku had planned to do with the rubber HCM figurines and their planned Takatoku-branded 1/55 Strike Valkyrie. There is only one toy that I know for certain that was in the planning stages and was to be released by Takatoku Toys, but was then released under the Bandai brand due to Takatoku Toys' demise. And that toy was the Hi-Compact Model VF-1S (TV). The Hi-Compact Model is teased in what may be one of Takatoku Toy's final promo materials.... The Takatoku Toys Co, Ltd Hobby & Toy Vol 2 booklet: Incidentally....this booklet also teases a Hi-Compact Model of the Orguss Orgroid!..... So perhaps these keshigomu Hikaru and Minmay figures were part of a product sample to be shown to Takatoku Toys retailers at the time...who knows. Anyway, enough speculation....here are the pics....both figurines have what appears to be more detail than the actual HCM white figurines that eventually were included with the Bandai Hi-Complete Model VF-1 series and not the Bandai Hi-Metal 1/55 Strike Valkyrie, as the seller describes was the original intent of Takatoku Toys. You can see additional detail on the Minmay figurines, especially in the creases of her neck and waist ribbons compared to the white HCM figurine....

  7. aka....The One Macross Collectible To Rule Them All.....
  8. TROS also retcons the whole "Chosen One" schtick by slapping the whole "will of the Force" thing on it....basically, the Force needs a Chosen One from time to time to bring balance to the Force...at least that is what Anakin's Force Ghost tells Rey towards the end of the movie
  9. So your favorite "good point" from TLJ is something that was already done in TPM?...so much for TLJ trying to do "new" things.... TLJ can probably be shrugged off as Finn's bad dream.....throw it out, or most of it, and you can still get the full sequel story with TFA and TROS.. We'll probably get a Sequel Trilogy fan-edit someday and I am pretty sure most of TLJ will be cut out of it '
  10. I would still buy one! The art is awesome!
  11. Those are truly awesome Bub! Congrats on the acquisitions! I especially like the VF-1J(?) shikishi...lol. If ever for sale, let me know!
  12. It was the best JJ could come up with after having to follow up on a movie that shat on Luke Skywalker's OT legacy and Star Wars in general. Let's just hope The Mandalorian Season 1 wasn't just a fluke... I'm waiting for TROS to show up on D+....and will buy the BD used or maybe wait for Black Friday 2020.
  13. They probably will wait a few weeks after the BD gets released....they are sending Onward to D+ 2 weeks after they made it available for purchase on digital...so no waiting for the physical media on that one... I'm hoping things will go back to how they were once the coronavirus scare goes away (but who knows when that will happen), otherwise, the movie theater business may be among the first post-coronavirus industry casualties...Although I do not go to the big screen as much as I used to, I would hate to see that option disappear or get even more expensive....
  14. I don't blame you...but if cat-like curiosity gets the best of you (kills you?)...most of the nonsense is easily available free of charge on the webs.... The worst aspects of the tire-busting plot-holes attempt to retcon several details of what made the OT stories great...such as insinuating Vader actually rejoined the lightside well before he tossed Palpatine (or what is now known to have been a clone of Darth Sidious...yes, another plot hole revealed in the novelization of the movie and now canon) down the shaft in ROTJ.
  15. For a "few dollars more" you can buy all the books, comics, etc to fill all the plot holes.... What you interpreted as dominoes and cheats were simply the "will of the Force"....
