  1. Thanks! I also had the Takatoku catalog from 1983, but for some reason the link is gone. I will repost it shortly.
  2. Thanks! I am glad you appreciate this sort of Macross merch. At this point, I am mostly just collecting odds and ends from the SDFM/DYRL era. The hunt is extremely difficult these days, but once in a while something really cool does show up.
  3. The completist beast within me will compel me to get it...and I will surely comply....but I agree.....there are other VF's that still need to be covered...oh well... So what makes it to the wild first, this "So you thought you knew everything about the VF-1S" book....or Mikimoto's long delayed illustration book?
  4. https://www.polygon.com/star-wars/2020/3/31/21200863/star-wars-rise-of-skywalker-changes-art-book-alternate-deleted-scenes-scripts-duel-of-the-fates I have all of the "Art of" Star Wars books and have enjoyed them throughout the years.....so had to get this one too. Just checked and it's "Out for Delivery"
  5. US Surgeon General tweet from February 29..... Today..... https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/cdc-considering-recommending-general-public-wear-face-coverings-in-public/2020/03/30/6a3e495c-7280-11ea-87da-77a8136c1a6d_story.html

  7. SDFM = Super Dimension Fortress Macross....when used it is referring to the original Macross TV series DYRL = Do You Remember Love.....when used it is referring to the 1984 Macross film
  8. Nice stuff Swann...I have that poster too....Mikimoto is still the best Macross character illustrator! Now if we can someday get his new book to release....due to recent events...that wait is probably now on a long-term hold....
  9. Hello Marco and once again congratulations on your acquisition! As you probably know, the Henkei Super VF-1S is the rarest of all the vintage Macross toys. It also represent one of the last toys released during the SDFM/DYRL with any affiliation to the original Takatoku Macross line. Again, congrats and welcome to the club! So is the Takatoku Valkyrie 4-pack the only other vintage Takatoku Macross toy you are missing? You have everything else from the Macross Takatoku line? I will keep an eye out for it and let you know if I spot it for sale or auction. Also, I know I have spares of the Mecha 4-pack of the same set, but not sure if I have a spare of the Valkyrie set. If I do I will let you know. In terms of Japanese collectibles, I only collect Macross these days. Not sure if you have taken a look at some of the items in my Macross collection....I ususally post them here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/forum/42-collectors/ In terms of Takatoku Macross.....since I already have all of the toys and collectibles from the original line, I now mostly focus on items such as the Takatoku Macross promotional materials. You can see some of the images here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/46734-takatoku-toys-promotional-posters/ http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/46719-takatoku-toys-hobby-and-toy-booklets/ Again, congrats of your rare find and if you have any questions regarding vintage Macross toys, feel free to reach out.
  10. His call....
  11. Gubaba keychains.....by Bandai
  12. Macross round menko cards by Seika Note Co.....
  13. Seika Note XL Macross Sketchbook...
  14. Guess it all depends on what your qualifying criteria would be...I loose definition of "VF-1J TV Hikaru toy" can get hardcore pretty quickly.....
  15. Maybe Biehn will play a bad guy. A veteran of the early brutal and merciless Imperial campaigns to reign in the Star Systems that were opposing the Emperor's will. Grand Moff Gideon personally enlists a bitter remnant of the defeated and humiliated Imperial Special Ops Forces itching to avenge his Emperor!
  16. "Super real 1/55 die-cast plastic scale model & high technology produced by Takatoku Toys"....but it's a toy right? We can ignore the "model" parts? Built model = toy Unbuilt 1/60 Yamato "model kit" does not become a toy unless built?.....Or like the HCM.....a 1/60 Yamato can only be considered a toy when pre-built? LOL
  17. A purely "design and engineering" display of the forward evolution of the PT VF-1 from it's inception, based on outward appearance and not on "unseen internal tweaks", should include one of each the following: Takatoku/Bandai 1/55 VF-1 Bandai HCM 1/72 VF-1 Yamato 1/60 VF-1 v1 Yamato 1/48 VF-1 Yamato 1/60 VF-1 v2 Bandai 1/100 HM/HMR Bandai 1/48 DX VF-1 I would argue that the Toynami 1/55 and 1/100 should not be included as I feel that they are a step backwards or simply did nothing to improve designs or engineering of VF-1 toys that existed before their individual releases. The same can be said of the Henkei and the Takatoku 1/100 PT toys, they were not a forward evolutionary step in the design and engineering history of the PT VF-1 toy. Oh and there are also the Banpresto PT valks.....again, backwards evolution...unless you want to give them credit for being the first to include "extra" heads...LOL!
  18. Believe me I know that no one's collection is ever complete....until it has to be.... However, I'm pretty sure I said no Takatoku Macross Collection would be complete without the Super VF-1S henkei.....
  19. Yeah, I do not see "playability" as part of the OP's selection criteria.....however, I will agree with you that the henkei is one lovable POS!
  20. Only three known collectors on the planet would be able to pull that off... All kidding aside, if you are not married to the idea that all of the included VF-1's must be "Roy Types" or belonging to a "DX" scale....then I would agree that inclusion of the HM/HMR would be a must as it is actually a semi-improvement on some aspects of the Yamato/Arcadia VF-1 release....and is a pre-cursor to the next stage of VF-1 design, the Bandai 1/48 DX... However, I would definitely NOT include the "Takatoku Henkei" in a display based on your "Evolution of the VF-1 Valkyrie Toy" idea.....namely because it was designed after the Takatoku 1/55 VF-1, which is your starting point.....so technically that makes the Henkei version an example of toy DE-EVOLUTION! LOL....
