  1. Holy! That thing was going to be LONG. Though not quite as tall as I'd like mine (I have high ceilings) as I wanted at least five levels but they would have been closer to 30cm each. Actually, just re-measuring now, I would have to assemble the thing myself as it would be too tall for the doorways. It's too bad you never had it made, that would have been a sight to see. For that size and the fact it was supposed to be 100% dust proof plus delivery and assembly it's possibly a really good deal. I'm looking at some online that aren't nearly as wide, maybe a bit taller with similar depth that aren't 100% dust proof and they're hitting $2500 or $2600. Maybe $5000 is worth it? Was this place you were looking into local? I looked into some places online and found a British company that advertises custom cabinets but I live in the US and was frightened of just shipping costs, to say nothing of what the actual estimate would be. If you live someplace that is remotely humid you'll always have mold. It also depends on the kind of pads you use. Typically the synthetic blue pads will last all summer here. I like the straw pads, personally, as I can double them up and get better cooling. However, I have to switch them out every month and a half to two months or else they will start to mold.
  2. The point about them selling at Gen Con before some people get them is actually breaking one of the initial Kickstarter promises. That backers would receive their stuff early as part of the benefit of backing. Now, backers just paid to get it "eventually." Delays didn't bother as I knew who we were dealing with but I do feel this is absolutely wrong.
  3. Given how poorly everything is done with this show, and that practically everything leading up to this has been designed for them, this design is much better than I would have ever given them credit for even if it could use some streamlining.
  4. I never considered looking into a custom cabinet before. I found a few cabinets online that were $3K+ and they were sealed pretty good but not perfect. What were the dimensions of the custom you were looking at? I would need something roughly 114x226x48cm. That's pretty big. Yeah, I guess "evaporative cooler" is the term for it. Between how dry it is in NM and a regular Air Conditioning unit my hands would be constantly split and bleeding. I need that bit of moisture from the cooler. Plus it feels more comfortable to me, minus the times the humidity passes 15% which is only a week out of the year at most.
  5. I've looked at the IKEA cabinets. Like I said, it's DUSTY in New Mexico. I would need something with far better coverage to make any sort of difference. It doesn't help my house is cooled via Swamp Cooler, which adds additional moisture to the air making the dust cling worse.
  6. These parts appear pretty intricate. I don't think Shapeways would work for this.
  7. yeah, I badly need to find some sealed cases for my Valks so they don't become jammed/broken from all of the dust we get around here. Just so damn pricey....
  8. It already has enough of its own IMO.
  9. Different plastics are going to have different amounts of static cling. Just a natural property. Living in New Mexico EVERYTHING I own gets covered in dust so I haven't really noticed a difference in the amount around a Yammie versus a Bandai.
  10. I was about to say the same thing. We've strayed too far off topic.
  11. You're right, hinging there actually makes no sense. If you needed clearance hinging from the front would make more sense. The back there does nothing, unless they really do raise/lower in a similar manner to the 25's but they always tuck them down for photos.
  12. Honestly, I don't really spend money on much of anything else. I'd buy .wav files for DJ'ing, maybe, otherwise I exercise or go dancing. None of that costs me anything.
  13. Really, you actually took it apart? You didn't take pictures of it did you? 171's Gerwalk mode is actually a hell of a lot of fun to pose. It's very dynamic.
  14. I still really like the way my bright white Hikaru 1S looks. I'd like a bright white Max 1S to complement it.
  15. Seriously, if I could nab these additional parts I would probably be dumb enough to spring for a second 19 as well despite all of my disappointments. Though I would probably want to attempt a way to modify the shoulder parts to be on a metal ball hinge a la the 25's because I'm still pretty sure that's how they would work on the 19 as well. I think it would look cooler raised up a tad in Battroid like the 25's as well. And posing it with the boosters next to a 25A with the Super's would look cool too.
  16. It's kind of cruel they're advertising these T-Rex parts so heavily considering only twenty people are going to be able to buy the damn things.
  17. I pulled mine out, it couldn't even stand in Battroid the first time so I said frakk it, Gerwalk mode EXTREME. It won't do anything worse to the ankles.
  18. That's classic. I should keep that link around too. One of my used 1J's is about to bite the bullet on one arm as well. Even the knurled pins work with the replacement???
  19. Iiiiiiiiii don't want that. But give me some Frontier-style 19 super parts...
  20. Warner Brother's could get it completely wrong and it would still have a high probability of being better.
  21. Oh, there's a PC version? I'll go check steam then. Thanks.
  22. Game looks cool but OH MY GOD these two idiots need to shut up. Also, more than just side and top down. Also behind view. Awww, it's for PS4. Nevermind. Won't play it.
  23. He can only make the head, packs and gun. It's up to you to do all of the decals, painting and panel lining.
  24. It only had a single release and was the more popular of the two. While I find the color of the stripe more appealing, honestly the S looks far more menacing overall.
