This is different. Interesting color scheme.

See, this is closer to the color that chrono and I have in mind. Much better looking than the loud red used for the bike of this thread.

This is just screaming for a paraphrase... "What do they call you? A.S.S.?" *evil grin*

No transforming toy has yet to look as good in fighter mode as a dedicated, non-variable model, so I don't understand why anyone should be surprised. The VF-1 in both 1/60 and 1/48 scales from Yamato are still not perfect in fighter mode, nor is anything else aside from custom model work. When a custom model is produced that looks perfect in fighter mode, the battroid mode invariably looks awkward, often spindly. I can see differences in the model vs. variable toy, the Yamato looking noticeably stunted in comparison. Regardless, the 1/60 Yamato is probably the most faithful toy representation of a variable mecha Yamato has ever produced, I dare say that anyone has produced.

The bike would look better in a darker, more metallic red color rather than glossy red in the pictures. Still, a functional replica of the Akira bike is a fine accomplishment.

Oakenfold is a genius. Love his stuff. Ready, Steady, Go is one of my favorite dance songs of all time.

David Lynch, you have your next film

An "e-date?" I can already picture this as a Sunny D commercial

I've never heard any Macross music in night/dance clubs here, but this is Alberta, so it's no surprise. On occassion I have heard re-mixes of anime music here in Calgary. The Hi-Fi Club here in the city has been known to produce a few obscure tracks for dancing that include anime music I recognize as well as the rare computer music remix.

Forums forever display a bizarre form of entertainment that sickens us so deeply we cannot help but stare in nauseated awe at the horror time and again, much like Micheal Jackson

So much love...I can feel it

Brilliant! I love that answer

Hindering discussion of Macross 7 is as bad as banning criticism of Macross 7. Like Roy has said, this is a website for discussion of all Macross subjects. The staff should just play it by ear, coming down heavy/light on either side when need be and let the rules float. That way the message will sink in.

Because truely constructive, enjoyable discourse about Macross occurs so rarely on this website, I sieze the opportunity to talk extensively about the wonderful merits of this amazing anime franchise.

Thanks for the very large pictures Graham. I can see a lot more of the details now.

Why? You're a film student so consider it as retrospective research on diverse interpretations and adaptations of super heroes in foreign cultures. 368451[/snapback] I work in film/photography part-time, but I've never gone to school for it (yet). But I get more out of Eisenstein and Bergman than torturing myself with this And beleive me, I'm trying hard to think of some positive angle for this, for the sake of those two...hehehe

Quite amusing. That's a good trick to work out. It can even walk to, albiet clumsily. Cool stuff!

I couldn't agree more with JsARCLIGHT. In fact, I posted similar thoughts just recently in the Mini-Mod thread; true to MW form, I think it was all but ignored. Too bad, because it was good advice, if I do say so myself LOL!

Okay, bsu and comickaze are now officially enemies of the republic for convincing me to watch that IMO, Spiderman's best costume was the alien one back in the late 80's...the white emblem on a black suit that eventually spawned the Venom character. They should have stuck with that suit.

IMO, the only prerequisite for "really enjoying" Macross is to value one Macross production to such a degree that one seeks out more. People know when they are hooked; it's not really a surprise I own Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Macross Do You Remember Love?, Macross Plus Four-Part Series, and Macross Plus Movie Edition. Overall, I'd have to say Macross Plus is my favorite of the franchise. What keeps me coming back to Macross is my appreciation of the quality put into the products of the franchise. The Animeigo set was second to none for a restored, subtitled DVD release IMO. The Macross Design Works was a brilliant collection of my favorite anime lineart. The Yamato 1/48 Scale valkyrie toys are top quality products with fine detail and design. The Tenjin Hidetaka Art Works of Macross is by far the best table-artwork book I own. Quite simply, it's not a mystery why such fine products continue to interest me. As long as the franchise releases these quality products, I will purchase them. Keep in mind, I bestow upon Macross not just the title of a great anime, but one of the best works of genre entertainment in the visual medium. For me, Macross is a classic of genre entertainment along side Star Wars, Alien, 2001: A Space Odessey, Terminator, Mad Max, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, X-Men, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Nausicaa, and Cowboy Bebop. It will always retain its status as such a work of art and entertainment for the medium, most likely as long as I live. Even if there was nothing to regularly come back to (such as new products previously mentioned) Macross would forever maintain a permanent spot among my pantheon of favored genre entertainment. Of course, owning over dozens of Macross DVDs/VHS tapes, three Macross toys, four Macross books, a dozen Macross CDs, six Macross posters, and a host of other merchandise doesn't hurt

Psychologists would have a field day with this crap This is a private website and as such it's not always going to be "fair." The rules are rather fast and loose with the exception of a few topics (religion, politics, etc). Further, the staff here at MW are human and will obviously act as such, so you have to expect that there will be some bumps. Personally, I think this is just a case of overexposure. The Macross 7 debate has resurfaced in the last couple months after quite a long period of downtime. Right now, it's clear people have once again had enough. So even if one has a subject closed or is feeling the heat, I don't believe it's personal. That's just me. Of course, there is also the possibility that all this is by design and MW is taking a new stance on certain issues. It's not like we'd be privy to the decision.

Nah, I'll skip it. THanks
