Semi-gloss clear or Flat clear as the final coat?

I've found recently that I really like semi gloss on Macross stuff. Looks more "anime" like to me. -

I'm a bit confused by part #15. As in how much I'm supposed to whittle it down in order to make it fit on the back??? of the leg??? Or do i need to cut out the back of the leg and replace it with that part? HELP! -
LOL!

It was on the national news both in the AM and PM, when it happened. also on Yahoo's front page for a couple of days. Incredibly sad.

thanks for the advice Cap. Glad I didn't leave it longer then. Just didn't want a redo of my Oberth kit experience! All appears to be well and i am almost finished cutting pour stubs and sanding on one of them. -

All parts de-greased and washed with Dawn dish washing soap. ....Pinky Space Crabs, Cat's Eyes and baby back ribs. It's what's for dinner! -

Picked this up today to soak all my resin parts in. Hopefully this will prevent paint not adhering to the parts on down the road. -
Cool! I didn't realize the Wave kits came with colored plastic!

So today I went to Hobby Lobby as they have a decent selection of the Vellajo acrylics I've been looking at. They didn't have the purple colors of course, but MegaHobby carries them online so I ordered 1 of each of the following to try. Royal Purple, Purple, and Violet. These seem to be the best bet for the Crabs so far, as Tamiya and Testors do not offer a suitable dark NON pearl purple. I purchased one bottle of Vellajo Neutral Grey just to see if it airbrushed nicely for me. It does! I thinned it with distilled water as per the Vellajo website and it layed down nicely on some spare parts I had lying around. Looks just as good as Tamiya IMHO. They have something like 200+ colors in their model paint line with FS standard colors and lots of other cool colors as well. I may have found my new favorite paint. We'll see! So when I get the 3 purples in I will put up some pics of paint tests and let you guys see what you think. More to come. -

Be careful where you display the wedding dress figure...over time it ooooses some weird oils out of the plastic and the plastic dress itself becomes kindy slimy feeling..just FYI -
+1 In Texas dark window tint is crucial to survival! I like the 19 tint level. Bet it will look good in person.

He didn't. I asked if he had any extra kits of his lying around and he had one of these available.

Mr. Captain America was nice enough to find me one copy he had around. He made the kit a year or so ago.
