George Miller on where Fury Road falls within the existing franchise: So again, not a remake or reboot. This is simply another tale of Max (from who's poerspective, we don't know yet).

It's getting tremendous early buzz from SXSW, and it doesn't sound anything like Chappie.

Nothing is made better by being like the Matrix. Neither Tron or Tron Legacy are "good" films. I enjoy them because I love watching life on the Grid, and the rest is passably watchable. Assuming they don't go too far afield with Tron 3, I'll see it in the theater.

I don't love the new trailer itself, but I'm still on board for this thing.

You can't dump them if they were never the plan. I'm fairly certain they've always stated that the spin-off films are intended to be side-stories starring characters that have not been at the center of the existing Star Wars saga.

Do remember that they were far from infalible; they gave Blade Runner a thumbs down. Also, it's important to note Ebert was the first mainstream reviewer to embrace the internetm and set the standard for all who followed. And there are plenty of good movie reviews out there.

Note to Technoblue: this is what hyperbole actually looks like. So, Taks, what you are saying is all journalists today are a bunch of absolute hacks with no concept how to write?

Except that this movie is being panned by those who otherwise love Blomkamp's work. Plenty of members here liked Elysium too, a movie that Blomkamp himself said he "f_cked up."

While certainly everyone has their own tastes and opinion on what is good and what is not, have you read what some of the people around here like? We aren't exactly a bastion of good taste, lol. Netflix sounds like a safe bet on this one.

So, when is Blomkamp going to come out and say "my bad, I frakked this one up," like he did with Elysium? And who is still excited for his Alien movie? Anyone? Dude is starting to look like a one-hit wonder.

It's not a remake, and it's clearly nothing like Alien. Totally different kind of film. -
I'm fine with Batman being dark and brooding, but it feels so wrong and out of place with Supes.

I was also thinking Ripkey, Hicks, and some new form of xenonorph versus the company.
