    A reviewer I trust really enjoyed it and called it the 4th-best Indiana Jones movie and didn't mean that as shade. But, whatever the case, I already have my tickets.

    No gameplay + it's an open world Ubisoft game, so color me skeptical. But, it's Star Wars, so I'll be keeping an eye on it.

    This is 100% where I am at with Macross, but I try not to complain too much about it anymore.

    I checked out more of the English dub. Yeah, not a fan. It's not terrible, but it's missing some of the attitude and emotion I am used to with the original. Also, as Hikuro pointed out, they've taken some odd liberties with the script that I don't think work as well as the original.

    As a follow up to the above, the new release doesn't have the Japanese 5.1 audio that was newly recorded a decade or so ago for the blu release in Japan. Which I'm actually ok with, as I preferred the original audio. The performances were just not quite the same in the new recording, which made it feel off to me.

    The dub sounds non-offensive to my ears. I would always watch with original audio, but the voice cast looks to be pretty decent for the dub. Can confirm the Chariots of Fire-esque music is missing from all audio tracks. However, it has all of the original science lessons (not sure on the newer ones), different matting options for the episodes done widescreen, and some other bonus content. Lastly, not sure on picture quality. I'm not overly impressed with it, but that may be due to the original source. Would need someone with the Japanese blu to compare.

    They could easily have cut 40 minutes out of this movie. Maybe more. I liked the ending, but man, I was bored for long stretches of this movie.

    My stepmother loves Indiana Jones, so I'll be going to see this on release day with her and probably my father. I expected this to run 60-70% on RT and a month out it's at 50. That's whatever. Lowers my expectations, but I'm not overly concerned one way or the other. If I don't love it, my life will go on.

    Something else to keep in mind: reactions out of Cannes should ALWAYS be taken with a grain of salt. This movie could be far better--or worse--than we're seeing being reported.

    The "negative" reviews out of Cannes seem mostly to be that the movie is predictable. It's a "legacy sequel" that recycles what has come before. I haven't read any reviews that it's poorly shot, poorly acted, or even poorly written. I expect it to settle around 65-70% on RT. Which is fine for me, but YMMV. My stepmother is a huge Indiana Jones fan, so I'll likely see it with her. But, it isn't some ultra-important genre film for me. I'd be more concerned if Dune Part 2 was getting some shade.

    Word out if Cannes is that it's a fine, well-made movie, but that it plays it too safe and ends up feeling like a recycling of Indiana Jones's greatest hits. Which, I'm fine with. Better than another Crystal Skull.

    I have it for PS5, it's busted. I'm expecting it to be a month or so before it's playable. Playable equal to its price tag, not playable as in "does the game load and can you do stuff?"

    Is this a good time for me to say I'm not a fan of Filoni's work and I'm hoping the seeming reboot we get at the end of this episode means less of his nonsense in this show?
