  1. Spoilers, Tober: Eddard got his head cut off, there was no last-second save.
  2. Ok, I found the weirwood arrow references; they're in ADwD and AWoIaF. Minor potential spoilers for this season (based upon the books): Weirwood may very well be to dragons what dragonglass is to Others.
  3. One month of reshoots has been scheduled for July after the first cut was screened. The general consensus seems to be that it didn't strike the right tone; in other words, it wasn't Star Warsy enough.
  4. So am I wrong in remembering that the books hint that Weirwood arrows can take down a dragon?
  5. There would have been no point to their story had they died right there. You had to expect a save. There was 0% chance they were going to die there.
  6. That's correct, Dobb, And Dany certainly isn't being set up as some pure and noble ruler. She plays at being Aegon, but doesn't have his level-headedness or sense of mercy. Dany is rash and arrogant. And then one has to wonder if she doesn't have a touch of the Targ madness. It's going to be a messy affair, for sure.
  7. I like the Dany as antagonist theory, except for the fact that we know "the dragon must have three heads." Jon leading the fight against Dany for the Seven Kingdoms doesn't work under that condition. Unless it's an "once an ally, now the enemy" situation, and another Dance of the Dragons takes place. But that seems like a lot of story that has to be played out.
  8. Reminder: GoT is not taking Memorial Day weekend off this year. They're playing the season straight through this year--no breaks.
  9. I don't expect much out of it.
  10. I think it's solid sci-if that can succeed today. If there is any issue it's because Elysium rips it off pretty blatantly, but does a poor job with the subject matter. I could see people groaning, and wondering why they're making another one of those.
  11. I loved the series
  12. Except he's producing all of the Alien movies. They all fall under Scott Free Productions. As to Prometheus, it started out being an Alien prequel, became something related but different, and is now back to being a prequel. I think it's just how things played out.
  13. Ridley can be brilliant, but he doesn't always make the best choices. I'm pretty sure Prometheus is on him. Or, more directly, going with the Lindelof script is on him. For all intents and purposes he's running the Alien show right now.
  14. I like this casting
  15. I've always wondered if Benjen and his rangers haven't been shadowing the Others this entire time, tracking their movements and watching them. As for the show I could see them combining these characters, but I honestly don't know. I just know we're getting someone to save them based upon the season 6 trailers.
  16. Into Darkness would have been much better had Cumberbatch's character just been another enhanced human from Khan's crew. Then we get to the end of the movie where we see them all of that crew in stasis, and as they pan over them we see one that says "Khan." I'm not even a Trek guy and I think that would have been awesome. The alternate timeline has our heroes dodging an even bigger bullet than they faced.
  17. So, who do you think is going to save Bran and Meera: Coldhands, Benjen, or "Benhands"?
