Awesome episode! It kicked arse from start to finish. Total mecha slaughter and Macross songs galore. I love stories and battle scenes that give me chills. That last drive against Grace did just that. It was so good, I didn't mind too much about the unresolved triangle! Though as I think about it, I'm glad I'm 'hearing' all this talk about a follow-up movie. I hope it is a continuation and not a re shoot. That would be cool, but not enough cool. Perhaps Michel could return to save Klan Klan's broken heart! And I would hope it would include a resolution to Hikaru and Misa and Minmei. I would love to know what happened to them. That is too much of a black hole. Now, I'm off to watch the ending again. God, I love this series...

Withdrawal hurts, unless you soak it in more anime!! I'm catching up on Zegapain. Another great one is Scrapped Princess. If you haven't seen it, do so! And is there going to be a Macross-F movie? If so, WILD!! I could Macross-junkie myself to death!

Awesome EP. I agree with MisaForever, I haven't seen a bad EP of Mac-F yet! I will start by stating that I am a Ranka-Fan!! Let's not forget that these are still teenagers stuck in a terrible situation. It takes time to figure out what the right thing is to do. If they do resolve the triangle, I hope she end up with Alto. There is much more between her and Alto, than Sheryl and him. You don't get that much angst unless there is something big between them. I think Alto loves her to and I half expected him to fly after her. I think she needs him to. Letting someone go as she did may be the best way of saying I Love You. After the loss of Island 3 she was saying 'sorry' to the Vajra. She couldn't sing before that because she knew they were going to die and she could feel their pain. Not to mention that the whole city was under attack. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place. Call her immature and selfish all you want, but despite the pain she did what needed to be done to protect her friends. Now I think she has to do what she can to protect the Vajra. If anything Ai-kun has shown her the the Vajra don't start out evil. Grace and Co. did something to them, using Galaxy as a test bed and the Vajra just like the Marduk used the brainwashed Zentraedi in Macross II. I'll speculate here, and assume that there is an older queen, perhaps one close to death and Grace is using Ranka as a replacement that she can control. Control the queen, control the Vajra. The Vajra may end up being as much victims as Frontier and Galaxy. It all goes back to what happened on the 117th Fleet. Did they meld her DNA with the Vajra? Is the 'little queen' really Ranka, or a Vajra queen growing in her belly? Above all, Ranka doesn't want anyone else to die. She wants to stop the fighting - and what better way than to face 'her' people? Alto's response shows that he hasn't reached that point yet. The Vajra had just killed Michel and were turning his sky into a battlefield, so he has a ways to go and some leaps to make to keep up with Ranka. She's already seen that fighting is not the way. It never has been in Macross. I also think that her leaving could be a catalyst for their relationship. She's suddenly gone, and that as they say, 'absence makes the heart grow fonder...' I can't picture Alto just sitting around and waiting for her to come back. He has a habit of jumping into situations, especially when people he cares about are in danger. And poor Klan. I really feel sad for her. She held this silent torch for Michel, waited so long for some sign, letting her own insecurities stop her, letting Michel remain blind to what was right before him, and now its too late. Strapping on the Fast Pack and pasting some Vajra would never be enough for that wound. Her sitting in his cockpit, looking at that picture of them as kids was incredibly touching. I don't read any fan speculation or spoilers, so his death was a surprise. And painful. Klan finally admits her feeling, and so does Michel, with literally his last breath. Just goes to show that in life as well as anime, you shouldn't wait for the important things. I wonder now if next time she goes into battle it won't be in her Zentraedi armor, but Michel's Valkyrie... Although, how did he get sucked out into space? They were in the SMS building, almost exact center of the city, far away from the dome and the hull and they still managed to breach a hole into space. Leaving no body behind... It makes me wonder, is he really dead? Just fanciful thinking here, but what if Grace and Co. got their hands on him and turned him into a cyborg like Brera...? Back to Ranka , I did read where some others mentioned her coming back as more 'mature' physically. I wonder why that would be? If you don't like her that's fine, but if all she has to do is grow into a psudo-Nanase figure to make you like her, then there is something really wrong with you! this is a joke. it is only a joke. had this been a true criticism there would be no smiley face! As for Leon, I think he should have died the moment he stuck his down down Catherine's throat!! Disgusting. How could she take that slimy thing and his moe-hair and wee-beady eyes. And that smug look on his face, 'oh your gonna buy my chicken, ho.' Ozma should ram his hand down Leon's throat, grab his balls and then haul them back up until their hanging out of his mouth! I might like him better that way!

I choose to watch all my anime subbed so I haven't heard Japanese songs translated. It's a shame if they don't come across, and by 'they' I mean ALL the songs from Macross F of course!! Sorry if I was a bit vague. Is it just me, or do 'western' songs pale in comparison...or is it just better that I can't understand them without reading them?

Someone has GOT to translate and sing these songs, then post them for all of us. They rock! There has to be a talented person on this forum, or other, who can. What do we know about the Supervision Army - aka the EVIL from Mac-7?

Is it me, or is Xeros' avatar a spoiler for episode 20! I don't recall Ranka ever being Bitch-slapped by Sheryl!!

I'm not normally a fan of the 'triangle, but this is MACROSS, and you must accept! That being said I am definitely rooting for Ranka. She doesn't come off as bratty or whiny or as a nuisance. She has an effervescent personality, almost always bubbly and optimistic. A trait to be adored along with a certain naiveté. It doesn't hurt that she suits me just fine, green hair/ears and all!! She is a strong go-getter - as soon as she realizes what she wants. Among the three, she's the one running to make the proclamation! As for Alto telling Sheryl to show up and telling her to watch him in his thoughts, I think a previous poster had it right (I hope) that it was to show how he and Ranka have improved and that she should do the same and not give up. Although that's probably a bit wordy. (On an EVIL note, perhaps he was telling Sheryl that he loved Ranka by forming the heart above her name. -place evil emoticon here-) So far all I know about the cliffhanger ending is that Ranka found Alto and Sheryl in the classic cuddling pose that is often misunderstood just as one decides to declare one's love. I won't be making any guesses as to what happened, though any three possibilites are ripe. 1) Sheryl says I love you - Alto says 'So?' 2) Sheryl says I don't love you(looooong shot) Alto says 'Oh?' 3) Alto and Sheryl profess their undying love and Ranka did just miss their kiss. 4) Alto and Sheryl decide they would make much better friends after all and become best buds. Ranka misunderstands and runs away. Alto runs after... but 5) the Vajra attack before he can reach her. I know that's more than three. cue episode 20!

I know in Flashback 2012, we see Misa and Hikaru and Minmei all leaving on the SDF-2 colony ship, and in reading other forums that it was eventually lost near the center of the galaxy. But does anyone have any idea what happened to them? Are there hints in Mac-7 or Mac-F? And are there any plans for answering this question? Personally I would love a new series focusing on what happened to them. It's a big empty place that needs filling, a tantalizing storyline that I think (hope) many people would want answered. And what happened to Claudia and Global and the Bridge Bunnies? I was tickled pink to hear that they did not die in Macross as they did in Robotech, though it was not 'said' in any words. Misa was simply standing there when Hikaru landed and we're left with the assumption that if she survived, then so did they. In any case I'm glad I got back into the story. I just finished watching Macross and I'm all caught up with Mac-F, until the next episode is released. What day would that be anyway? I've been watching it on YouTube. Now I'm struggling through Mac-7, and I don't hesitate to say that it's only for Max and Millia. It's a shame that due to a fluctuating episode arc they're story was for the most part excised from Macross. Despite their beginnings, i.e. Millia wanting to kill Max BAD, their relationship was actually more 'normal,' as in man meets girl and falls in love. I'll keep watching for them alone!
