  1. Yeah, Mr Dissolved Putty. Nice stuff. Shrinks though, so if you want to fill a gap, it may take a couple of applications. Wipes off good while wet, and sands good when dry. I'm making the hole for the central stand right now. Going to go with clear a acrylic rod into a simple wooden base. And I like the Skull Squadron motif. This ship is probably assigned to them for recon and battle management. Also check with Starship Modeler. Last word I had from Blappy was that a new run is - or soon to be - in the works.
  2. I thought it was great. I binged an entire day away on it. Loved the call-backs to my youth, as well as the ET/Alien/Mystery/Goonies feel. Really hit all the marks there. And was I the only one that caught a Chunk vibe off of Dustin? And yes, that final scene certainly hints that the monsters are not done with! Really hope they come out with a Series 2!
  3. Finally started this one up. this is my first time working all in resin, and so far except for some parts that needs fettling she's going together pretty good. I intend to finish her off as an AWAC assigned to Skull Squadron, and will be changing and adding some pods and bulges to depict a craft updated after the Earth-Zentradi War and assigned to the Megaroad. Parts layout, Since I'll be doing an in-flight display, the gear doors are closed and I'll also be needing a mounting spot for the rod. The model comes with a big cavity in the belly that is closed up with a panel. That's the best spot for a mounting rod though, so I had to fill that cavity up with resin in order to supply a place for the rod to seat into With that dry, I need to put the cover panel in, but it needs some trimming. Its a little over-large at the front edge. You can also see the gear doors. They weren't perfect fits, but some dissolved putty has neatened the gaps quite a bit. The nose gear door though is going to require a bit of edging to get it to settle in flat. The wing tips have also been glued on. Again I'm using dissolved putty to neaten the join lines, as well as the wing folds. That canon to the left is not going on this model! This is it so far. I'm going to try and keep momentum going on this. Hopefully, doing as straight a build as possible with help keep things moving!
  4. Well, finally started work on my ES-11D Cat's Eye. She'll be outfitted with markings for Skull Squadron and assigned to the Megaroad 01. I'll be building her as an in-flight display, and also be adding some minor changes to show upgrades done between the end of Macross and the launch of the Megaroad..Currently still cleaning up some casting blocks and settling the part lines between the wings and fuselage. Here she is so far...
  5. I won't be watching until Mission 20 is out. I'd rather sit through nearly two hours of viewing than a short 25 min each week.
  6. Very nice. She looks great.
  7. Nice builds on those 31s!!
  8. Yeah, it was blatant porn for eightes bands and F-14 fanatics! And if Val comes back, I hope he hits the treadmill first!
  9. His change of attitude may tie in with what Gramia told him just before he died. Until then, he did seem like the calm one, but then it's like some switch was flipped. Maybe he was told that Windemere caused the dimensional explosion and now he wants to cover that up too. It's easier to follow the flow claiming they were victims rather than put your hands up and admit they were wrong. I'm hoping Freyja becomes a Wind Singer like Heinz to give him some slap-back and I hope one of the Knights bites it soon. It's been a cake-walk for them almost the entire way. I would also think by now that some UN forces would have responded to the Ragna Island's distress call. If they sent one out that is... Seems kind of strange of they hadn't.
  10. Nice catch! The question though is, how long ago was that? Was it about seven years ago and what we're seeing is maybe the first attempt to launch the Sigure Valens, or was that memory from 500 million years ago, in which case how did the castle exist for so long? Or does that even matter if she is a member of the freaking Protoculture!!
  11. It still surprises me that the modern US Navy still uses black and white cameras...
  12. Nice lighting on that Yamato. The engines look great.
  13. I've decided not to watch them singly, but will wait for three or four to be released, then watch them in one go. This piece-meal is killing me!
  14. Fortress PArt 2 Last Day of War
  15. May the Fourth Be With You!! Saw the movie today. Could have been better. Could have been worse. Liked it overall, just as a cheesy popcorn flick like the original. I would hope that we get some of those planes as models. All of them! Loved those bombers and the fighters, and especially liked the anti-grav 'choppers.'
  16. + Dang it! Finger slipped. Sorry guys, Sorry. My bad... I will say though, that I did like the fighters...
  17. True. But as soon as g-forces relax, consciousness usually returns pretty quick. And if not, then a shot of adrenaline (I am NOT a doctor!) would serve to rouse the pilot. The AI would be in control all through regardless. But the human factor is still there, able to flip the OFF switch if need be. Or able to take control if enemy ECM takes out the AI... Cause you know, as we develop pilotless aircraft, N.Korea (as just an example of a low-tech threat) would be plotting ways to disable them.
  18. I wonder if it would be better to leave the pilot in the seat along with the AI. That way if jamming does occur, or some other nefarious activity, the pilot can just take over with a flip-switch. Developing a tandem relationship with our future Overlords can be a good thing!
