That all makes perfect sense, but why would the 19 stay the 19 yet the 21 became a 22?

So this has been bugging me since i got my M and M VF 22s. In Macross Plus the valks where the YF-19 and YF-21. In Macross 7 The 19 got it's VF designation but remained 19 but the YF-21 became the VF-22. I know they made changes to the flight control system of the 21 but enough to change it to a new model of Valk? I think that the 19 has change more cosmetically and has many different variations yet still only has the designation of 19. Does anyone know why?

I have some of the revotech macross stuff on my desk at work, unfortunately people approach my desk and say "oh Robotech how cool". you don't understand how sad that makes me.

finally got my ghost boosters, after owning both the zero A and S. they can finally have thier boosters. Picked up a TV Roy too

I see these thunder hammer valks here and there, how does one go about obtaining one? is it a custom kit, if so who do i need to contact to get one?

Me too, i got my 0S and 0A so long ago, the arms just kinda flop around, i would love to give them functional arms again.

I'm with the group that does not like 7. I've watched it all the way through when i was on medical leave from work (maybe the medication i was on helped me get through it) and i recently tried to rewatch it, i just couldn't do it...
