ChristopherB
Hello, Similar to the Hasegawa list I created, this is my attempt to provide a complete list of all of the 1/72 Macross model kits/accessories whether they be plastic, resin, metal, or decals. I do not want to include items that were not actually released and available to the general public. Really rare limited items are of course included. You'll notice that I did not just "copy and paste" this all together. It is an original list, sorted by manufacturer, alphabetically, with like items grouped, and consistent descriptions used. It took me quite a while to develop, and I referenced Hobby Link Japan, Macross World and some other sources. Myersjessee
The Tanmen VF4 never made it out. I wouldn't list it as a result. What about the Gundamhead Spiderbug kit? (It also has not made it out...but unlike Tanmens VF4 I know the bug will make it) There are two Club M VF11's...one wonderfest varient and one for sale version. Also there are to 1/72 scale Ghost kits...1 with FPs and one without. Also the IHP stuff...some of it is listed as 1/72...though I guess it's generally considered non-scale. Thats everything I can think of right now otherwise...nice list DOH..sorry...I guess I should have PM'ed this...sorry. Grayson72
Do you have the Retppu vf-4 listed twice? Don't forget the wonderfest 1/72 Monster, those same people also made a 1/72 Tomohawk too. Oh and the 1/72 Lancer II kit from M-Factory (Mr. Cobywan) The 1/72 YF-19 Battroid from WF'04 Valkyrie I assume the fold booster you're referring too is for the 19? From this years wonderfest. Valk009
Hey Christopher, how about the 1/72 Club-M make of the Macross Plus series! There was the YF-19, YF-21 and the VF-11 in fighter modes! Wooops! Just noticed that they are already on your list, please just ignore this! ChristopherB
Jesse/Ken/Chad, I knew I could count on the resident MW experts to help complete the list. Thank you, and if you think of anything else please let me know. I considered including the different box variants, but the list is already long enough as it is. Unless the kit was released by a different manufacturer (Bandai/Imai), or the contents of the box changed, then I didn't list it. Recasts are excluded as well. I always thought it would be cool to have a list that could be printed out, and then slowly worked on until every item has been checked off. jipe
Is it not a best idea to create a list by model and not by manufacturer ? I would prefer have such a list when I want to know who makes a VF 4, a spartan, ...
ChristopherB
jipe, Well, that depends on what your goal is. If your goal is to collect or compare certain similar items in the same scale, then you would want to group those items together. However, you would run into a problem, because a lot of items do not relate to anything else. My intention was to list every 1/72 Macross kit ever made, so my goal was not to create a list of similar items grouped together. Based upon that, grouping by manufacturer is the most logical method to use. Actually, all you have to do is copy and paste the list into Microsoft Word or something similar, and then just use the "find next" option to locate "VF-4" or whatever you want. So my goal is to obtain everything on the list, hence a complete list sorted by manufacturer, as opposed to obtaining every VF-4G created in 1/72 scale. Sincerely, Christopher

ChristopherB
jipe, Thank you, and I appreciate your input. Kiotcloudkicker, When I thought about posting the list, I considered that it could increase competition for some of these kits by educating others about what is out there, but the greater good is served. I know what you mean, the only place I'll see most of the rare kits will be on the list, not in person. Chad, Yes, Excel is an excellent idea. Regarding the Wave 1/72 VF-22-S Battroid Valkyrie, I found it on HLJ, but no box is included: Wave 1/72 VF-22-S The MW Model section says that is "vinyl," but no picture is provided. Noel, I will add the D'Stance YF-21 to the list. Perhaps Carl has a link/picture. "1. 1:72 Karakorum Macross Robotech DYRL 1/72 Variable Valkyrie [a group Super or Heavy Weapon Type Resin Conversion Kit in the For use with Imai or Bandai 1/72 Variable U.S.A. ] Valkyrie model kits 2. 1:72 Dolly's- Virtually the same kit as above independently Doll(s) created by a group in Japan" With regard to "CoryDora's" versus "Dolly's", I obtained the information as stated above in blue font from "Carl's Corner." ChristopherB
tetsujin, I completely understand what you are saying, and I considered that before finishing the list. I included both the Imai and Bandai versions, for several reasons. The boxes, boxart, and inserts are different, and each version should therefore be considered a separate collectible. Without opening the box, you would never know that the two are related. In addition, the release of the same kits by two different manufactures is a singular occurence, so it is not so widespread as to merit special consideration. If we apply youre logic, why would a collector of 1/55 valkyries bother to purchase anything besides original Matsushiro Jetfires and Takatoku valkyries? The same goes for the Bandai reissues. They are all 1/55 valkyries, but each version is collectible due to significant variations between them, such as different boxes, decals, improvements and etc. Likewise, I have not included minor box variations by the same manufacturer if the contents of the box are identical to one other. The creation of a list like this requires some constraints, otherwise it won't be valued. Hopefully, I explained myself. ChristopherB
Chad & Noel, All right, I'm confused now. Carl mentions a kit by "Dolly's," and Noel wonders if it is "CoryDora's." Chad mentions a kit listing I've never seen called "Korykoras." Are we all talking about the same thing here? The Karakorum kit was basically resin armor parts, a strike cannon and missiles for use with the Bandai/Imai 1/72 Variable Valkyrie kit. According to Carl, "Dolly's" released basically an identical kit. Does that mean, "CoryDora's/Korykoras" also released this kit, a copy of which Chad purchased from Noel? If so, that means (3) separate companies have released the same resin kit. I wonder who made the original then? Chad, does this mean you're going to build a 1/72 Imai/Bandai Variable Valkyrie and attach the resin armor/strike cannon to it? If so, will you keep it stock, or try to make everything more realistic in all (3) modes? Should be interesting to see it displayed next to a Hasegawa Strike. Valkyrie
I've been trying to confirm the existance (or nonexistance) of the Wave 1/72 VF-22S for a while now... and that HLJ page is still about all I have to go on But it does provide one good hint; It's item code, MC-16. A while back, I tried to put together a list of all the Wave Macross kits, and the 1/72 VF-22 filled in one of the last few holes in the item codes (which ended at MC-21). I ended up with two other holes, MC-14 and MC-19, but I believe one of them is the limited YF-21 with FAST Packs. I never could confirm the item code of that kit. But anyway... in all my many days of scouring Yahoo Japan Auctions, I've never seen a 1/72 VF-22S kit. But the search shall continue... Sincerely, Christopher Well when I made mine, (Karakorum) I had no idea about any others. After I had sold a few, Carl asked me if I had seen the Japanese version. He called it Dolly's, and it was similiar to mine. I forget whether or not Dolly's had missiles or the optional Strike/Super pod. You'd have to check with Carl. I never heard of a 3rd offering before. I'm curious now. My kit was just for the 1/72 Imai/Bandai variables. It was meant to be permanent, and not removable from the model once it was applied, but still left it completely transformable. Just in Super/Strike armor. (I try to give options) Other than my own personal VF-1S, I've never seen anybody's finished pics. Are you working on one?
Grayson72
I'm gonna start on mine as soon as I finish that frickin' Hase battroid/armored conversion, man what a pain in the ass. ChristopherB
Well, it was kinda obvious that Karakorum was the right spelling, because the creator of the kit "Gundamhead" never corrected it's spelling, just check his post on the first page. So, it was confirmed well before he posted again on this page. Not only that, but as an owner of his kit, all I had to do was look on the box when I typed up this list. ChristopherB
I'll post picks and then you can see what the [C]orydoras kit is. Chad, It will be cool to see the differences between your Corydoras kit and the Karakorum version. I'll have to e-mail Carl about his Dolly's kit when I get a chance. What I meant by realism, was whether you will build the 1/72 variable kit without any modifications. Since you do not "play" with your models as you've told me, I was not sure if you planned to leave it in one mode, and then focus upon making that particular mode as true to the lineart as possible. Imai obviously had to make certain sacrifices to develop a model kit that would look halfway decent in all (3) modes, as opposed to Hasegawa who did not have to worry about hinges, part swapping and so forth. Gundamhead, You did a great job on your 1/72 Strike/Super kit. Do you have any pictures that you could post of the completed VF-1S with your armor installed? Pat S
List updated/edited.Does anyone have a link, picture, or the manufacturer's name for these items. If you own them, you should be able to look on the packaging: 1/72 Ghost X-9 I just bought an original from MajorTom The box says JafCon9 on it
wwwmwww
Hello,Similar to the Hasegawa list I created, this is my attempt to provide a complete list of all of the 1/72 Macross model kits/accessories whether they be plastic, resin, metal, or decals. Hello Guys, I'll add what I can as I have time. Just very busy these days. I missed your Hasegawa list. Could you post a link here? As for these rest you've set a very ambitious goal for yourself. I can almost assure you such a list will never be complete as rare event only kits I've never seen before pop up from time-to-time. But this should be a fun exercise non the less. wwwmwww
Also the IHP stuff...some of it is listed as 1/72...though I guess it's generally considered non-scale. Most (not all) of the I.H.P stuff is 1/100 scale. However it's the Studio HalfEye kits that I consider non-scale. As far as I recall all the I.H.P kits do have a scale to them.
