1/3000 SDF-1 Kit

I’m sure most every self respected Macross model kit collector has this. Or do they?

Most definitely do not have this kit.

Where did you find it? Are there any others? Need more info please.

This came up on my FB feed. I don’t know much about it, but thought I would share due to its strange blue plastic. I do believe it did come out of Taiwan.

Its a knock off of the Arii 1/5000 kit for the casual readers, not cast in the original light blue-gray, but in a deep blue and white, which is pretty neat.

 

I like how they removed the copyright bigwest text on the bottom right of the instruction sheet, because you know, its a KNOCK OFF

So, is it 1/3000 or 1/5000 scale? Your title says 1/3000.

Its a 1/5000 kit
but post says 1/3000
and Box says 1/5000 and 1/8000

I "like" how they went to all the effort to remove the copyright and replace the ARII logo—even going to far as to put the safety instructions in Chinese (in the bright yellow box)—but they can't be bothered with the domestic Japanese number for paint inquires. 🙄

Begs the question: did the bootlegger have some kind of connection with Hobby Color? 🤔
