I haven't read any of the books. But it seemed to me that this all could have been wrapped up at the end of season 2. Two more seasons, wow, there must be a lot that's yet to happen.

I paused the video towards the end and was thinking...ok there are still about 15m left they could wrap things up...but uhm, lets get going.

All I will say is that it's not just about winning the throne.

From what we have seen so far, they're leaning heavily into the relationship between Rhaenyra and Alicent a lot more.  Can kinda see how that will still be a factor with the story yet to come, but not sure how it will tie to the ultimate conclusion.
