Yeah! We have Scopedog month, with the release of the ATM-09-SA with the ATC-BR1-S (Roundmover) backpack...

Yep!

So my retailer sent out my Round Mover this morning and DHL already confirmed a Monday delivery that's really fast! guess it helps to have rockets on the backpack! 🤣

Really looking forward to this version! and then the Bloodsucker in July which is only three month away... The line is definitely growing on me! And really liking what Bandai has done so far. Not much to complain about either! maybe the price a little... But at least they don't fall apart on the slightest touch. A great line, to say the least! hope Bandai keeps them coming. 🤗

Reinforcement unit arrived today! Quite nice in dark green, seems that the scope turret is actually a lighter silver colour!

Now looking forward too the Bloodsucker unit July-August.... Then hope they release a Brutishdog before years end! 🤗

New Bandai HG Scopedogs shown at the Hobby Show in Japan!

What kind of AT is the left one? Looks really interesting!

Looks like some kind of sniper custom. Can’t say I remember that one at all. Although I think the head should have its mid and short range eyes since the scope of the rifle seems connected to the head and would function as the extreme long range scope. Basically looks like it has redundant long range vision and no normal range vision and might just trip on a rock. Then again maybe on the other side of that scope is the short range lense

Bandai really likes milking the Scopedog for any variants they can, but how about something else every now and then

Eh? Left side where the upper torso has a different shape... the sniper variation is on my right but maybe your left!? 😉

But still some nice variations, but was more wondering for HM-R variants and what's still doable, Funny though that the Bloodsucker AT is being done as a figure before being done as a model by Bandai. Since these are two different devisions inside Bandai Spririts I wander if they cooperate or can just do their own thing?

Since Sunrise is now owned by Bandai they may as well milk it for what its worth! Find it amazing though that the series wich was considered a flop is actually still really strong after 40 years and how many companies have produced V.O.T.O.M. AT's in various scales for this series! And we still get too see new variants which we don't recognize...

Sorry, I was half asleep and probably thought you meant standing to the left rather than pictured on the left.

Not sure about it, but it does have that kind of battler custom sort of look.

and I’m not really surprised that Bandai hasn’t done the bloodsucker yet. They only seem to be doing scopedog variants and Wave had their kit, max factory also did a recent kit and theirs the toy, so I’d imagine it’s gonna be a while if they ever decide to do a non scopedog

and I don’t really think Votoms was a flop. Gundam was a flop in its og run and got cancelled and same with southern cross and a lot of other anime in those years, but the creators always expected Votoms to get cancelled and they were surprised after each one of the story arcs that they were able to continue. Supposedly that’s why they planned the show in that way to have an ending in case it ever got the early axe. I think their success even surprised themselves

I'm thinking that one is a variant either from Shining Heresy or from the other non-Chirico ovas (MellowLink, Case: Irvine,, Votoms Finder) , considering the updated bicep and newer chest and stuff. Maybe even from the older PS2 games and stuff.

Fwiw, Gregore's AT usually sports a scope guard-rail on the scopes, but he pilots a Turbo Custom. and his scope guard-rail is pinned at the bottom instead.

Thanks @Big s & @treatment

I think when P-Bandai post these variations, we'll know what's what, But not even sure if these will be expansion packs or a complete new AT unit you can buy, Guess we'll have to wait and see like usual from Bandai 🤪

Now just waiting for the Bloodsucker AT, Has this unit been done in figure format from any company before or just in model form from Playmax?

Yeah, the Actic gear was pretty cool and max factory had an older toy and I think cm might’ve had one as well

I have both the Masterfile books from Softbank Creative but none of these are pictured in the books! They show older variations like ATM-07 /-08 and show different weapons and sidearms used but not these variations, maybe in the next book....🤗

Ok.  I don't think these ATs are from any OVAs.

That said, I found some similar AT specs at MAHQ: (dark coloring makes it a bit difficult to totally confirm):

https://www.mahq.net  is still so damn awesome resource!  :hail:

It could be that these aren’t finalized and were just showing them in standard green till things get closer to actual production, or they may just be option parts to allow you to build and paint those specific ones

Hobby Japan, has released new images of the Hi-Metal R B-ATM-03 FATTY...

Lots of improvements can be seen including being able to open the belly to place the pilot also the legs have gotten lots of improvement!

4c85c234076325c638e2c305400f29d6-1.jpg.webp.a678da05a086fc50a44464fd5639715f.webp

We previously introduced a prototype of the HI-METAL R Fatty. This time, a prototype close to the final version has arrived. At first glance, compared to the prototype model introduced in the January and February issues of Monthly Hobby Japan, it is clear that divisions have been added to each part, making it a completely different item. Furthermore, the internal mechanism is also tightly packed, making it seem even more advanced than the previous prototype. Since the Fatty is an AT of the Balarant army, it is interesting to see the different modeling approach from the Gilgamesh army's Scope Dog.

Side View:  It looks like the cockpit hatch on the abdomen can be opened and closed. In addition to the cockpit hatch, there is another section of the abdomen that looks like it can be opened. Also, it is worth noting that the proportions have been changed compared to the previous prototype.

Included a picture of the previous version to compare...

08-10.jpg.webp

Nice hight comparison shot! Compared to the separately sold HI-METAL R Scope Dog (space combat version). As per the video settings, it is clear that it is taller and more voluminous than the Scope Dog.

05-11.jpg.webp.34abc08265b2ebc95eee486222c5255d.webp

Rear  view: The orange parts on the calves suggest that it will be in a landing pose. The booster on the back is also divided, giving it the appearance of being able to move around.

02-11.jpg.webp.f69146d6bd9c814f3b520703363e155a.webp

01k-1.jpg.webp.da43a0d5cdde83003a57ec3174e6b444.webp

Apart from the shoulder joint, there are divisions in the torso, suggesting that it may have movable parts. There are also other divisions that suggest movement or gimmicks.

06-9.jpg.webp.beac63d0b90a853c2ce5bd90a6b66a7c.webp

You can see the markings on the flank. In fact, the color of the markings has changed from the prototype model introduced last time.

07-7.jpg.webp.cf0b3de4464c3b325988326c6c9f148b.webp

When the legs are moved, you can see the joint parts for the landing pose where it looks like it will land backwards. Also, when you look at the hip joint, you can see that it has a pendulum-like movable mechanism.

08-7.jpg.webp.92fd0a5e07237cffd41e8334434e3cc2.webp

Seems to be the internal structure!?

The 3D drawing data used to create the HI-METAL R Fatty has arrived. The internal mechanisms can be seen through the transparent exterior. Not only the torso, which is where the mechanisms are most likely to be found, but each part is also expected to have a variety of gimmicks and a wide range of movement.

10s.jpg.webp.1ce4f6cd80d094c381ce73deec2ea655.webp

Honestly looking a lot better than the previous prototype! 👍🏻

Just opened up the Space Dog today, and I have to say that it is a really nice toy. High Metal-R really knows how to bring the Real Robot love. Over the last few years Bandai has done a great job with the depth and width in its HMR range. Yeah so far there are slight variations often, but I understand they need to get their money's worth out of each tooling. Besides if having to what amounts to 3 Scopedogs in the range (not to mention a dozen or so VF-1 variants) mean that I get to have 3 different models from L-Gaim im cool with it. The only ones I have missed in the line up are the two SPT Layzner offerings. Amyway... anyone have any idea when the Fatty is going up for preorder?

Yes the V.O.T.O.M H-MR Line is quite good! Unlike some of the older H-MR stuff, I don't think we will see the Fatty until March-April 2026 Since the haven't completed tooling yet. I Think after the Bloodsucker we might see a colour variant like the Brutishdog before we get the FATTY.... But it's turning out to be a great line, with Bandai making some nice AT variants we haven't had as a figure in this scale & with this amount of detail from anyone else. Just hope they keep at it up, unlike the DX VF-1 Macross line which seems almost dead.... 🥲

A Melkia Scopedog feels like an easy TWE release to fill in the gap. A Brutishdog would be lovely.

Seems like other than the RSC, all HMR VOTOMS have been stupidly TWE/Pbandai only releases...
