I love a lot of his work, and he was always keen on SF, taking an active interest in promoting it. Its funny, cause just the other day I was watching a doco on my 2001 DVD which featured Dan talking about it. I think the doco was produced a few years ago but I still thought he didn't look well. He helped bring Sci/fi into a more realistic light with Alien, showing you can make a low budget film and make it horribly scary and give you nightmares well into your adult years! It usually the actors and maybe the directors who get their praises sung but the writers are often neglected. That segment has ever since flashed into my head every time I see or hear the word Zombie. Finally I get to see his face. Too late to meet him though. sigh...maybe later on...
