Why bother doing a custom figure? Hasbro is releasing a Battlrfront II Clonetrooper battlepack with "Clone Commander", essentially a Galactic Marine with the gattling gun. Also a clone trooper with missile launcher that's a repaint of Commander Bacara with missile launcher.

If you want accuracy, SW Battlefront II has alot of really bad errors. The movie Space Balls is a better adherent to Star Wars than what SWBF2 does.

The gatling blaster your thinking of was first shown in the Clone Wars cartoon, something about the "Hunt For General Grieveous." It's on Vol.II, IIRC. It's carried somewhat like Jesse Ventura carried his minigun in Predator, not over the shoulder.

i'm doing my own because hasbro usually screws up the weapons and buying the opened clone troopers on ebay is cheaper than buying them sealed. also, i don't have to fight with "comic book guy" (simpsons) look alikes at the store and their minions for a decent clone trooper set.

Isn't it the job of a commander to lead, not act as squad gunner or heavy weapons specialist?

Graham

Yes, but don't tell FPS gaming development that

"Lead? Oh, you mean massing your team online and rushing as in WWI? That type of lead?"

At least the movies had it right. The Clone Commanders only fielded standard Carbines or Rifles, maybe with Pistols for backup weapons.

You'd think, but a ton of games, going way back, like Warhammer 40K in the late 80's gave the commander types access to preferred gear. They have some idealized vision that the commanders are the elite troops, combat veterans that fought their way through many battles, that or they were the ones who got to order the equipment and therefore kept the coolest, biggest, meanest guns for themselves.

Rebelscum had a picture of a Battlefront-themed battlepack coming out before the end of the year. I seem to recall the Galactic Marine having the shoulder-carried cannon that the one in the game does.

Ah, found a pic on someone else's website. Dunno why Toywiz took theirs down?

It looks to be a 6-clone pack, which means it probably won't be the standard $20. Gonna have to wait and see how much it'll be before I get too interested.
