At C3 X HOBBY 2006 (also called Chara Hobby) in Japan, Ryosuke Takahahi, director of the Votoms series, announced today that he will direct a new Votoms series in 2007.

Let me be the first to say "holy crap!" I never expected this series to claw its way out of the distant 80's. Even if the show doesn't focus on Chirico again, I hope it doesn't succumb to the current trend in self-hating, mopey, angst-filled heroes. Votoms should be about kicking ass and taking names.

(be warned, I'm sure there will be CG Votoms appearing in the new show. OMGWTF)

Votoms is definitely a kick ass anime; I love to check out the new series.

Hell yeah! VOTOMS is a rediculously badass series (I'm working my way thru the CPM DVDs right now...) and I can't wait to see more.

That would explain why I saw a full-sized model of the stock VOTOMS armoured suit being built by someone here in Japan - seen in the latest issue of Great Mechanics.

After this long, I can't imagine them doing anything other than a re-interpretation of the original series. But who know's, I wouldn't knock it if they picked up where the last one left off.

Maybe this will be a wide-spread and successful enough release to warrant all the OVAs being released Stateside with subtitles... I still want to see those so badly.

I really hope this turns out well. I have been watching the CPM releases as well and have grown to love this show. Hopefully more info will be avalable soon
