I thinks this toy will turn out just fine. With the new factory they use, and the extremely high quality of the latest releases, I have faith Yamato will do justice to this design. The SDF-1, Kai, blazer, and 17 are all badass.

I gotta figure that Ozma's valk was more desire by collectors in general. Perhaps that's what did it. Especially since I heard a lot of people say they'd sit out Alto's in favor of it, or that they'd wait to see what Alto's was like first, so when he turned out awesome, people jumped when Ozma was up for order. I remember there was still some skepticism that Bandai would get it right the second time.

I'm pretty excited about seeing some prototype of this toy. Maybe mid year hopefully?

I don't know if they meant for it to be open or not, but it was open for ten minutes last night. I'm guessing it was just a few stock to grab some early converts, as jenius said. Once official stock is confirmed by Bandai, then maybe they'll open it up again. Literally at about 11 pm last night my time, it wasn't even on the site. A few minutes later, I refreshed, and it appeared, but with the new title saying it was the May re-release, but out of stock still. A minuted later I refreshed again, and boom, in stock. That was about 11:06 pm. Then by the time I posted it here, it was out of stock. Blink and you missed it.

Yeah, it was never open. I expect HLJ to open theirs up for order shortly.

I sold mine within weeks after I first got it. I just didn't connect with it. But now that I have the renewals, my Frontier collection feels like it is missing something, which is now why I want one again. At least if you buy one, you could probably unload it to someone else for what you paid for it, if not more. They've been around for a while and I haven't heard any problems so far, so you're probably good. That said, I'd rather not pay for something up front for such a large amount of money. $50 is one thing. The Armor and Super packs I paid up front because I had no choice.

Yeah for sure. But the high cost of building these things and the amount that goes into R&D, it warrants repaints and more quantity, the way Yamato seems to do things. However, I guess Bandai is a bit gunshy and was only waiting to see what the actual demand was and to see how the 25 renewals sold. I think this has been a success, so we'll probably see more reissues later down the line; if only in small quantities. On the one hand you want to recoup costs and make money to grow the business; on the other, you don't want too much of your product shelfwarming, then being deeply discounted, which is what typically ends up with Hasbro and even some Yamato toys.

Yeah not v2. In the future, there's a noob question thread tagged above where I recommend you ask a ton of questions and post a link of the item you want before you buy. That's what I did. There are many versions of even the v2 that aren't "safe" that you need to avoid. Sorry about the bum luck man. It happens to the best of us.

If this was Hasbro, they'd have a billion of these different variants out already. It's the obvious thing to do. But who knows what Bandai is thinking at this point?

My 25S has been sitting in Gerwalk for the last couple days, and it looks so good. Not a huge Gerwalk fan, but I think mostly in the past it was animated so stiffly. In Frontier, there seemed more like a natural movement to it, how the legs would move, etc. Just made gerwalk look really cool, which is why I finally appreciate it.

I'm not expecting any changes to the 29. Though, I am surprised it isn't a bundle.

Mine only has the one loose wing. Overall, it's much tighter and better than the 25F.

If you have other stuff in your loot, you might make out okay considering domestic shipping isn't too bad.

I normally get all three kinds, because I have very limited shelf space. If I just had the same size, I would only be able to fit two or valks on a shelf, but because I can mix and match, I can squeeze more valks onto one shelf. Don't worry about the paint coming off. It only really did it to older valks. If you want to be sure, make sure the rubber tips are only touching the plastic parts that aren't painted.

Normally I don't recommend BBTS, but they still have it for preorder at 214. Probably the best you're gonna do until a reissue.

There is a video in the YF-29 thread that shows you how to fix loose joints with glue. I'm too lazy to look, so you're gonna have to go through the thread. That would be nice. I would like to buy bundled versions of the other two Messiahs, though I don't want them to be web exclusives. If that happens, I will rage.

I am in love with the 17. I wasn't sure how I'd like it, since I don't like Mac7, but it is just awesome! Fighter mode is SO tight and solid! Once I figured out how to make it so the guns don't rattle around inside the legs, I couldn't stop swooshing it around. I love Bandai's VF-25S renewal, but so far, the 17 has seen much more off-shelf time than the 25S. My initial reaction was, "Meh. It's nice, but it's no 19 Kai or 25F renewal." But now I think it is just as cool as the 19 Kai. I leave it right on the coffee table so it's there when I wake up and there when I come home from work. Drives my gf nuts since she has to move it every time she eats breakfast. If anyone here has yet to pick one up, you should; you owe it to yourself to have such an awesome valk.

I hope this is true just to stick those eBay sellers up their craw.

I just used the smaller Kite emblems that came with the 17. Looks good.

LOL. No kidding. When I saw that, I was like, "I'm sure that dude is on MW." How do you buy too many by accident anyways? I wish I had that kind of money to accidentally buy stuff. Murphy, you should really contact the guy and demand a percentage to use your photo.
