I can see an HDP 1/60 Monster kit happening - for around $2,000 They could probably sell 50 of those. I would send my kids into the coals mines to see if I could be one of them...
-
This might rate in the top 10 worst mecha designs ever - fighter looks great though

Do you guys remember these old resin kits? I think they were from Wonderfest. I had dreams of getting to them someday - but I know I won't so I'm selling in case anyone is interested: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35383

So well said. Can you imagine what it will be like when the lovers of these shows (us I suppose) are in their 60s and 70s? Everyone will be selling MIB toys from 30 years ago and no one will be buying...

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
DarrinG replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
3 questions for a Gundam NEWB: 1 - how much different is this from the #1004 release? 2 - will this release mark the prices drop a bit on eBay (or other) for the existing #1004 release? 3 - how likely is it we'll ever see an RX-93 or Sazabi in this line / scale / quality?- 6025 replies

It might not help that Bandai is halting the Hi-Metal line either. The Toynami went well with them...

I'm no economist but MANY signs are pointing to things about to get worse, not better. For Yamato to spend the money on the steel molds and lose money even if times were good -- let alone what might be ahead in the next year or two -- would not be prudent. Its not my first choice - but is certainly interesting. If this is how they have to roll in order to get it out - or even a Spartan kit eventually - then that's how it has to be...

Was hoping to see some more news on this today! Nothing?

I noticed something in this pic I never have before. The blue version way up top has the same head design as the brown. There seems to be several blue head variations in this screencap. Thought the blue only had that one wacked out gord seen in the foreground.

If the kit is successful they'll try any number of variations to sell more. Anxious to see...

Hmmm - not sure it will be a kit, unpainted. Does it say that? If they indeed want us to get a (nother) Defender to steal the bottom from (which I would do, so there plan is brilliant), than they would have to mold it in the same color at least so the yellows match. Getting something is better than nothing - hope they do a weathered version with missile launch effects too! I'm in...

Just got my CF 1A - and all that chocolately engine goodness. What a great finish these things have. So fun taking all the little covering pieces off the wing lights and landing gears - makes the 'opening' process last longer. Put on the TV super parts too, going to leave it in fighter mode for a while. The gun pod does touch the ground barely - is there something I should adjust still? Everything snaps together so well, so tight even with all the super parts on...

I want the T-Rex figure to go with (my eventual) 1/60 regult, not to put in it, but to have crawling out and beside it. - still looking for this t-rex figure, yahoo japan would probably be off the charts - If I could get this figure I might just go ahead (foolishly or not) with getting the Yamato regult. By the way - how tall is the 1/100 IMAI zent officer kit? Would that be much larger than the T-Rex guy?

I've been looking for some very cheap Megahouse figures, think I might pay $35 each with everything I've ready about their flaws. But I keep seeing them go on evilBay for $50 to almost $70?!? Seems too much what what you get... -
I paid $200+ for each of the weathered destroids I have, and would gladly do that again for the Phalanx and Spartan. They're a 'once in a life-time' type of release and worth it IMO -- even if they don't change modes. If the Regult was built with the same quality, already painted with pilot for around $350 / $375 I would have already pulled that trigger too...
-
I bet the Phalanx will eventually appear as a web or show exclusive - for $360 or something... Shame...
-
I would not have used pure snow-white on the Regult... Checked out the HLJ Sale - still too much... $325 maybe, but almost $500??
-
I'll take a set too, even though I don't have a Regult yet...
-
$500 is quite a lot for me to plunk down with the shortcomings others mention here. I might still do it, but the fear of a pre-painted, $200, no-cockpit detail version is giving me added hesitation. Sure wish we had some inside info on whether they have a cheaper toy version in the works...

Prometheus - on Blu-Ray and DVD Oct. 9, 2012
DarrinG replied to Pizza the Hutt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I can see why you'd think it was a dead series. They certainly have screwed it up. But for some reason I think Scott can do it, pull out something that starts a new era for the franchise (that someone else will screw up later when they get their hands on it) -

The Transformers 3 Thread--A Michael Bay Thread
DarrinG replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
HUGE Transformers fan in my younger days, did not see part II, will not be seeing this one. I can't even stand how the previews look. But I guess these things make tons of money all over the world so what do I know... Its not how I would have done it. You have to make the audience buy-in, feel for something - ANYTHING - in a movie. These just look like very expensive, intricate noise...
