Did the Aoshima version fix the hand crumbling problem? So if we wanted to fix our Toyami's that might be a direct swap? Sounds expensive just for some hands though. I heard someone mention the Alpha super-posables hands, but they would not collapse back down to go back to fighter mode... Do you have a link to his tread?? Oh yes Toynami's can! With the power of photoshop!

As much as it pains some of us to bring up the name Robotech, if they manage to come out with some new material based on Mospeada designs might that start things up again for some toy companies? Who knows - maybe Tobey Maguire is going to play Rey instead of Hikaru! But bottom line is I think we all wish we could get a line of Legioss and Treads with Yamato Valk V2 quality and detail -- Make it so Graham!

Col. Pailsen said he saw him - he saw a miracle (referring to the baby green goo scene) - and it took him 7 years to track Chirico down on Sunsa. I've watched the TV show - I cannot remember how the origins differed now. Can anyone else chime in here?

I'll check it out -- but if it shows what you say it does I'm not sure what that even means. Are these extremely rare abnormal survivors born that way by chance or is someone making them that way? If Chirico was born that way how did he get into space in that chamber?

Maybe my only question is how did the baby Chirico get from a cloud of exploded green goo in space to safely on a planets surface - where he would grow to 7 years old before Pailsen found him and tried to kill him with fire. And the way Col. Pailsen described it Chirico was discovered as being an abnormal surviver. But with the way the lab looked in Roots in sure seems like he was being 'created' that way instead...

I just watched the Roots of Ambition for the second time. Seems like perfect animation, what a great OVA. Spoiler Alert - but I have some questions. Col. Pailsen sees Chirico as a baby in a J Capsule - was he sabotaging it? Why did it explode? Not sure how the baby got to Sunsa - but later we see Chirico as an adolescent being attacked by the Red Shoulders in his village. Seems like a lot of story is still left out. Do one of the other OVAs fill in the blank there?

Opposite I believe. The claws are OK. My blue one are the hands that just crumbled, after being in storage for years. I took it out, carefully folded out the hands and they both fell apart...

My Toynami blue alpha's hands just did the 'crumbling' thing. I hardly ever messed with it. Will Toynami replace the hands? or do I have to buy another one and swap them? (then watch those crumble too) Really love the sculpt, except for the overly large clown feet. Designed well, just needed the Gakken materials and hinges / joints. It is a pre-assembled model kit 100%. I would LOVE Yamato to pick up the line as mentioned before, but I would then have to wait through 1/48th V1, then the larger 1/35th with its flaws, then eventually go all in for the improved Legioss 1/48th V2 line. What would that be - like 5 years from now? (really never, as we have yet to even see the destroid phalanx) The Toynami Beta is nice - but the hip joints are crap. Not sure what they were thinking there. Needed a chest cover for the sunny-side up egg eyes -- and they left out crucial missile pods on the top shoulders. But true what has been said of the combined fighters - awesome...

AGREE. Horrible game. But the year was a ton of fun and wayyy better than expected. They have a long way to go. I made lots of progress on 'cleatus' but no one seemed to care so I let it drop. Now I have 8 months to work on him...

I liked the idea it was more of a skull than a helmet. My personal preference is to expand the story farther away from just us earthlings, and learn about a completely different intelligent, alien race, with its own past. Feel a little bummed that -- A. The Space Jockey was just a larger human in a helmet, and B. Prometheus might tie our origins together thus shrinking the story line in a way. I'm sure I'll warm to the idea since I generally love anything Scott works on...

I do hope the Space Jockeys are NOT human (oids) with helmets on. I was looking forward to a true 3 race of beings...

I would have totally agreed with you. But this McDaniels thing stinks. Stinks a little like SpyGate meets McSpyGate. They may have brought a dark cloud over the Pats. This is a robot thread of course -- but Denver ran for 167 yards in the first quarter last meeting (you read that right, first quarter), then McGahee hurt his hammy and Denver fumbles it away 3 times. Not ready to bet but I would not be so sure... ANYWAY - gotta get some orange on there today! Updated pics hopefully tomorrow morning...

Got Von Miller reference and started sketching out some color ideas in Photoshop Tomorrow gotta get some masking done and some orange on there! Let me know what you think! Doubt I can get the #58 and MILLER details on there by Friday though...

The game was a thriller! The Broncos started off 1-4, and are now on the way to the second round of the playoffs - unbelievable. The Cleatus mods are in process -- and as promised I will get what I can get done by this Friday! Nice link AgentONE - I will post the Fox Robot part here, funny stuff... GREAT Detail, Good Sculpt - HORRIBLE Execution!! If you like the NFL you've probably seen this football player robot guy bouncing around the FOX Sports coverage of the games. Since my kids know I love both robots and football (namely the denver broncos) I got this unique gift for Christmas. Awww the warm and fuzzy feelings of the Holidays... Thanks kids. In Short: • Super Heavy - initial reaction is - this is a beast! • At about 10 inches tall he seems just the right size • Great sculpt, great likeness to what you see on the TV promos - he looks like he's ready to destroy somebody • Very nice attention to detail - hoses, vents and all sorts of mechanical goodness abound! THEN • UGH - he's too heavy for his own good, cannot stand up under his own weight, literally! • Joints designed to be very articulated but get looser by the second • The plastic used (revy type pvc?) is wayyy too rubbery and not a good choice for a figure this size • The 'nose' look under his face mask isn't appealing, maybe more of a Cylon / Vader flat style face would have been better? • The advertise the shoulder pads as "REMOVABLE"! -- Uh yeah, in other words do not touch this guy unless you want them to eject • Glue used is not good. Tried to pull the head off to inspect the neck joint and the entire neck assembly snapped off -- looks like Elmer's • You realize you have to stick to one pose and prop him against something if you want him to stand. The novelty wears off quickly... and you come away feeling like its a piece of %&@ ---I guess its this company's first attempt into the action figure market and it shows. They probably were able to make these for about 2 bucks each in some 3rd world country. Clicky-jointed hips and knees would have improved this guy 70%!!!!!! BUT • If Denver beats Pittsburg this Sunday (which is highly unlikely), I vow to update this guy in one week's time, before their next playoff game! • I will stick to the one week deadline -- note that I have a full time job and 4 kids so get your expectations in the right place... • AND GO BRONCOS!!

Oh geezzz - for what? $800 each? The moment I plunk down that cash Yamato will pick up the line. WAIT! That's it! You guys want the line revived?? I just have to spend all my savings on a limited edition Fuke resin kit and a company will start mass production for a fraction of the cost a month later ( ! )

STUNNING! Love the battle damage! My only suggestion might be to dirty up Miria's uniform a bit to match the weathered Rau. So you mean even washing the parts and priming the pieces the paint still had issues sticking?!? These Macross scales are the most tricky around. 50 foot tall soldiers when it should look cool and scary on the screen, then they magically shrink to 25 feet tall when they enter their mecha!

This is not nearly at the low-levels being discussed here - but I just watched Planet 51 with my kids last night. The animated tale of an alien world stuck in the 50s that speaks English and an annoying human astronaut lands?? It burnt my eyes and I feels slightly more stupid today -- and I can't shake it. Jeeezz - oh -weezz, for the money they spent on this the cool things they could have done...

Yamato will pick up this line - eventually. May take several more years and the economy to turn around globally though... (I'm looking through my Fuke colored glasses...)
