  1. I would have to agree with the assumption that it had a low run considering how many releases the 1J has had... Aside from the initial stndalone and SS set, there were 2 releases for the GBP set, 1st release was old crotch and 2nd release with new ones, 2 reissues (i think) for the standalone... there was also the standalone grey goggles and a weathering version (that's a lot of 1Js!)... Yamato probably just put their remaining stock in 30th anniv. boxes and packed them with option parts.

  2. @pud - good to hear you're keeping the good stuff. SDFM & DYRL will always be #1 for me too.

Congrats on the new baby! will be difficult at times but there will also be a lot of priceless moments.

I've always imagined the massive collection i could have if i were single... fill my whole house with all kinds of plastic and diecast sh!t, lol!... but in the same way i keep saying that i would never sell off my modest collection for a quick buck, i would never trade the life i have with the wife and kids for more diecast and plastic... :D

  3. t

But even before yamato went out of business the vf-1s roy tv w/ option parts went oop fast and prices were going @ 200 shipped normally bc it was hard to find before the news as well as the vf-1d anniversary.

the dyrl roy was still about 150-160. so yeah, it's a little off but i don't think 200 is that much off.

yeah, the 30th anniv. TV valks did sell out fast but the DYRL ones sat on shelves for quite some time until the "panic"... i can still find a 30th anniv. CF for $100.

Will it? What if the new MSRP is $150 like the new valk?

    Prices will only increase.

    ever the optimist... :p

  4. did a little cleaning and unboxed my 19Kai + sound boosters.

here they are in the land of my misfit valks... no place for them in my main cab with my fave toys. lol

(sorry for the bad pic... dark and raining here.)

i did a slight modification on the headfin so the front part doesn't jut up on top of the head. there's a slight gap at the back but it's less annoying for me than the gap on top of the head.

  5. that's a pretty good price.

A month ago, sure... but when Arcadia eventually releases a brand new DYRL Focker 1S, it WILL seem high. A good price for the 30th anniv. DYRL w/ o.parts during the panic would be ~$135-150, imo... Or at least that's how much i saw they were selling for before people started jacking up the prices to 190-200++.

  6. I'm personally hoping for new paint schemes rather than reissues since the ones that i felt some regret not getting (when Yamato folded) were obscure and didn't get reissued. Although i'm sure Arcadia will be releasing the more prominent hero valks... for those who missed out.

I really hope the higher price of the 30th anniv. VF-1J by Arcadia is an exception and not the new standard.

Yeah, I'd like to support Arcadia as I did Yamato, but they make it difficult for me by releasing Valkyrie schemes I simply don't want. :(

If it is a limited release then I guess it will sell well enough regardless of weather I get one or not tho...

The problem with it being a web exclusive limited release is that resellers will get it at msrp. They then will mark it up further so those who can't get it directly from Arcadia will have to pay over msrp. Unless HLJ can get the same deal it got to sell the VFX, Angel Birds and VF-4.

  7. So anyone regretting paying Macross Panic 2013 prices now that it looks like Arcadia/Yamato are officially back in the game?.

I don't think Macross Panic 2013 is done yet based on people's recent buying/selling activities... Prices are still sky high, 200-400 dollar VF-1s are still being bought and sold. Lol.

I'm curious to know what the impact of the uncertainty of the reasoning behind the high price of 30th anniv. VF-1J(by ARCADIA) will be on buyers and sellers alike.

  8. I like it a lot, but i hate the black markings on the chest plate. Yamato's rather mute applications don't help it either. Which is why i still find the Ostrich a more beautiful/ugly fighter.

Now the VT-1 head (in b-mode) is what i would consider ugly. Though i still can't decide which is the uglier battroid head... the VT's or the VE's.
  9. It's ugly and iconic at the same time. I love it as well.

By 'ugly' you really mean beautiful, right? Right! :p

Finally got a VF-1D, this is by far my favorite Macross toy. Thank you raptormesh for the hookup! :)

It's my favorite too... Looks great. Congrats!
  10. $275 AUD, not bad considering... I guess - thats what I'm trying to convince myself of!

Have plans to paint white accents and nose cone like a TV VF-1A CF - maybe some digi-desert-camo?

The SV-51 is one of those older valks of mine that i've always thought of selling (coz my wife doesn't like it) but never can... As a rule of mine, i prohibit myself from buying enemy mecha... a way to limit my toy spending :D). But the SV-51's design, esp. in fighter mode, is just so badass i always end up convincing myself that i need a physical representation of it in my collection.

Congrats on the purchase... Can't wait to see pics when you're done customizing it. :)

  11. Graham gave out a ton of VT-1 no-gnerl hinges he got from Yamato for free... I figured that was when people started buying out the remaining VT-1s and it sold out. I got a pair of the cream colored ones for mine and a few white ones for $2. That was like ages before shapeways fix came out.

  12. So.. 2 x VF-1 Super/Strike Pack showed up on Amiami awhile ago (2nd hand), and were really cheap.

I have a VF-1A CF already, so 1 of it is going there.

I already have 2 packs at home for both my VF-1S Roy and Hikaru, and the VF-1J has its own Fast Pack.

Wanna get some opinion if I should put down the $70 to get a VF-1A Kakizaki DYRL to wear that last pack.

    Or just get another CF.

Reserve it for when you get a Max DYRL VF-1.

  13. Here's my display case in progress. It's a little cluttered right now as I'm still trying to figure out the best way to pose everything to maximize space. I'm hoping the 6 flightpose stands I have on preorder will help because I still have 3 more valks that need to be taken out of their boxes!

    DSCF2515.jpg

You can a better pose for Max and the 1J by bending the elbow a bit more... They're double-jointed ;)

My name is Benson, and I'm a Macross addict.

So what do the rest of you new guys have for displays? What do you like about other members displays? What is your ideal display? What are some unique ways you'd display your valks?

It's time to breathe some new life into this thread.

Haha, i remember the time when i only had 1 cab and those 3 VF-1S valks (and a few other things)... It's always great to see other members' growing collection pics (not just text...). My collecting has been severely slowed down due to limited space and funds...

Now i only have old pics to share...
