  1. far superior to Yamato, and the durability and QC are better too.

    The pictures speak for themselves

nah... i still hate that huge gap between the intakes and the chest more than the collar (which has been corrected on the newer v.2s, whether intentionally or not...)

...if i could only have one... definitely the VF-1D (w/ the neck piece + seats add-on) for a nostalgia junkie like me. :)

  2. great pics alchemo!

i noticed that the hip-to-lerx tabs are disconnected in your 3rd GERWALK pic... is that as far as the nose can dip in GERWALK?

i remember people kept complaining about the v.1 landing gears and now that the v.2 has nice ones, there are no shots of it from MW members? :p

still crossing my fingers for a non-tamashii web exclusive bundled pack for all the main VF-25s.

and yeah, nice new banner, flashback Minmei and VF-4 ftw!

  3. maybe it's because this is Macross World and everybody's happy with their Yamato VF-1s... but i'm just wondering why nobody is suggesting a Masterpiece Skyfire/Jetfire... i would surely want a MP version that looks exactly like in the original cartoon (just like MP Rodimus looks almost exactly like he did in the movie). Make it as big (or bigger) as the MP-01! :)

  4. Sorry to hear, uh, read that. It's somewhat confusing me as to why this still goes for a big price when the quality of the joints are that lousy.

coz it's the only YF-29 transforming toy that's available atm. i'm sure there are a lot of people willing to overlook certain flaws just to have at least one of every kind of VF that's available in toy form (1/60 in particular)... sad but true.

the DVD/Bluray release of the 2nd MacF Movie is drawing near... re-issue of this might be possible...

  5. I think you may be right about the newer T-bar locking mechanism fixing the issue. The only ones I have that have the old version are the 2-seaters where the raised collar is not an issue anyway. With the other V2's that I have, the rest can have the T-bar locked in without pushing the fuselage up the slider if you choose not to.

TL;DR version: I think Yamato already solved the problem and don't need to waste more time and resources on this.

yep. that's exactly what i do with my newer v.2s... i only slide up the forward fuselage up until its horizontally lined up with the grey neck piece.

with the older ones, even if you don't slide the fuselage all the way up, a good portion of it still shows but definitely not up to the canopy hinge.

I may be oversensitive, does it mean a new version (in 1/48 or 1/60) is under development?

as for this, i don't think Yamato will do an all new 1/60 VF-1 line ever again... i'm perfectly happy with all my v.2 that i wouldn't re-buy any even if it is an improved version. they should just make all the non-canon schemes that i know everyone here is wishing for (stealth, flanker etc. etc.).

...but they could be making an improved 1/48 version and continue the line where they left off...

  6. To avoid all this "Too much force" ambiguity, Yamato should put a video guide for all of their Macross products on Youtube!

They did it for VF-19Kai and I'm pretty sure it helped the owners a lot.

that's why i prefer ratchet joints... just let the buyers know the max number of detents a certain ratchet joint has... esp. when every other recent valk Yamato has made has 4-5 detents for the thigh joint and then limit the VF-19's to only 3 detents.

  7. Eh, just assume the valk's flying in the atmosphere. Real wings curve up when they're lifting hard. Especially lately--the 787 and 747-8 have wings that bend up so much, that Boeing demands they have "enough upwards curve" before they'll license a model.

    snip

after seeing that, people might start complaining that Yamato valks don't have curved up wings.

  8. i wouldn't ever want to wish anything bad on anyone BUT... if Graham didn't get cracked shoulder hinges on his GBP VF-1J, we would never have gotten those replacement parts that Yamato gave him. I wish there would be someone on this board that is connected with Bandai since i also have a couple of their products that have cracked plastic parts that are very similar to the cracked shoulder hinges of the early v.2 VF-1s... but i think they really just don't care anymore coz they even discontinued their one-time replacement part request policy sometime ago (w/c i was able to utilize of a SHCMPro that i have).

my YF-19 is fine since its an "old box" reissue with fixed gunpod and rear landing gears.

  9. i have a 1/48 1J and 1/60 v.2 Focker that i transform constantly. all my other 1/60 v.2s i transformed once or twice and just display them in the mode that i like, i.e. Max TV 1A in battroid since its bad-ass in that mode and fighter-mode looks bland. My VF-1D i transform occasionally since I love all three modes (very nostalgic valk for me... I would buy another one if it is ever reissued). VF-X and VE-1 - never transformed since i only like em in fighter mode... VT-1 - up to half-GERWALK transformation only, just like in the movie.

as for the Mac+ valks, i hate transforming the YF-21 and i absolutely love the easy transformation of the VF-11B.

  10. To bad no armour for the 25s.

ditto... i hope this doesn't mean that the armor will become an exclusive. will wait for 25S bundled with armor...

Too think the VF-17 battroid is not very impressive thus far... Will buy it but will not build the Diamond Squad...

that's what you say now... :p

  11. i guess the main reason why I (and probably others too) keep my YF-21 in fighter mode is that I just can't stand how skinny the legs and small the feet are when displayed next to another 1/60 VF, like the YF-19. Displayed on its own or beside another 21 or VF-22S, its tolerable... and in GERWALK it looks okay. Plus i loath transforming the the damn thing and getting those legs to line up properly in fighter mode... which is why I have the GN-U YF-21. ;)

if there ever will be a v.3 YF-19, i would definitely buy one... the v.2's gullet does bother me a little. I'll be keeping the v.3 in fighter mode beside the YF-21, since it will most probably look best in that mode sans the gaps that the v.2 has. I'll keep the old one in battroid mode since I actually like how tall it is.
