Arrived today. Feels solid once everything is locked in. Legs seem a bit complex when posing compared to the HMR line I own. I like it!

Cool display and nice looking pose for the VF-2SS. Gotta add the VF-0D... :)

  2. Too young. I still watch Top Secret for some nostalgic laughs, and The Saint, which is my wife's favorite Val movie, every now and then. I felt a little sad when I watched his documentary. RIP.

I still haven’t been able to convince myself to watch the new seed movie. I told myself I needed to rewatch the seed and seed destiny shows to catch up and it was kinda like torture with how bad they were that after Macross got added to Hulu I sorta forgot all about that seed movie.

Not really that excited to watch it myself. And I have no interest in rewatching the entire Seed and Destiny series before watching the movie. Just gonna watch it for the Mobile Suits, the action scenes and just for the sake of completing the series.

I started Steins gate and it is good.

I remember the first 10 or so eps were so tough for me... almost gave up on it a few times.  loved it after all was said and done.

After consuming mostly isekai and some other seinen anime and some netflix stuff the past year, I started to miss watching mecha shows so I've been rewatching Code Geass, Macross Zero, Mac Plus, Mac II, and just finished Macross Frontier TV (didn't take things too seriously this time around and just enjoyed the music, mecha action, and the copious amounts of nostalgia evoking callbacks and homages). Not sure if I want to watch the movies just yet so I'm moving on to Gundam 00 and maybe finally watch the new Gundam Seed movie. ^_^

I'm consolidating my collection and I really don't have any other Mospeada items to justify the space. I'm selling mine if you're interested. It's fairly new and haven't really transformed it since my last post when I took those pictures. Let me know if you're interested.

 just when I felt a tinge of FOMO from the pics you posted... but then I quickly reminded myself of its face and those thighs, no space (and, honestly, no place) on my Mospeada shelf, and that I have to pay for the Tread and Legioss later this year. I'm sure it's a great toy from the looks of it (just like their Goshogun that I've been ogling) but just not for me given my current collecting habits.

Probably against my better judgment, I picked up the most recent reissue of Yellow just to try have one ride armor without cracks and he's my favorite character of the four, and out of the box there are stress marks on both those problematic swivel joints for the gauntlets already. I guess I can say they're not cracked, at least not yet, but still I'm obviously extremely disappointed to say the least. There are no changes from the original other than some tweaks to some tolerances like loosening the pistons. It's a shame because I really, really like the look of them and even enjoy the transformation but the durability and build quality have left a bad taste in my mouth

I'm still waiting for mine (taking sooooo long for the local shop I preordered it from to get it). My fave looking bike and in armor mode too and really wanted another set of saddle bags and weapons.

My original Yellow has cracks on both sides which I put a tiny amount of super glue in to fill the gap and covered with some unused grey decals.

I thought the reissues wouldn't have this issue anymore since those parts on my Hoquet look different/sturdier and show no signs of cracking or even stress marks. Now I'm worried.

like Roboech (because without it, I wouldn't know Macross)

Same. It's really been forty years :o... and memory is a little fuzzy due to being older, but I still remember being able to watch a few SDFM eps. (and even DYRL later on) on some UHF channel on TV in the 80's. Of course it was in Japanese and I couldn't understand anything... and I was much too young to undersrand or care about anything else (plot, character development etc.) except the cool planes transforming into much cooler robots. And then there were the jarring images of those weird looking zentradi ships in space!

But as a 10 yr old staying with my aunt in LA in the mid-80's, I was able to watch a good chunk of Robotech 1, 2 and 3 (and wanted to be like Rick and Scott, had crushes on Lisa and Dana:lol:)... good times. Of course life and growing up happened and I only realized the connection and the truth more than a decade and a half later. But the word Valkyrie had already been seared in my brain and had a meaning for me not connected to Norse mythology.

I still find it amazing even after so long since Macross F first aired, that Macross is still alive and well in Japan. So much so that I don't really think about Robotech much. But it's good for the toy collectors here that there are now more Chinese companies making SDFM (and Mospeada) products by using the Robotech license.

Man, that's the most times I've mentioned the word R*****ch in a long time :bad: :p

It's what I do as well haha.. The DX and Arcadia boxes are kept away in storage whilst the HMR boxes are just too nice that they have to be displayed. Also keeping all the boxes wrapped up in PP sealing plastic.

Takeshi Nakamura's art is a nice alternative to Tenjin's, & am happy to have both working on the HMR stuff. I just find it weird higher priced DXs come in comparatively boring graphics.

Yeah, the artwork of both are very nice indeed. I appreciate them equally but I have a soft spot for the latest HMR releases coz they also feature characters from the respective shows, not just the VFs... I can just imagine Isamu on the box art of a HMR YF-19. C'mon Bandai, do it!

That said, I think they have developed the song theory quite enough.  It's only taken 40 years but we have successfully gone from the Minmay Attack to music being the ultimate weapon.  I'd love it if they did something completely different.    Hell, a side series like Gundam 0083, 0080, WitP or Thunderbolt where it focuses less on the mythos and more on the harder edge stuff would be awesome.

    This...

Thanks! Ultimately planning on making Boldoza, Quamzin Kravshera ("Khyron" for those only familiar with RT) and perhaps expanding the bridge. Would also like to make Claudia and the Bridge Bunnies (to finish out my 4-inch "miclone" series, and the SDF-1 Main Bridge for them to "man".

(and the lower Bridge display/ "stage"  that Minmay used in DYRL)

Nice!! Do you plan on getting Magnus, Kup and Blurr as well? That would rock!

Would love to see those when you get them done. Good luck!

Don't have Blurr (ugly arms) but Magnus and Kup didn't make the cut for the quick photo op .

Another cool thing about these newer and reissued HMRs are the really nice box artwork, so much so that I've started wrapping these in clear plastic and "displaying" them on top of my toy display cabinets.

I wasn't sure if I wanted one of these when they first came out the first time, but at some point, well after it was released, wanted one. With this release, and the price being low enough, decided to get one of these. If anything, the stand looks quite cool, so I'm happy about that.

Same. Exactly. Plus, I was hoping a 1/60 version would be a viable option for me.

...excited and can't wait too that I rummaged through my old stuff that's stored away to find my CMs Ishtar

  13. IMO, Arcadia should be able to release updated versions of their valks by now, like the VF-1 and VF-11 mentioned above, with better articulation and gimmicks. Reissuing the VF-11 as it is is like Bandai re-releasing a 20+ year old SOC without any improvements, just a different paint scheme and selling it for double the original price.

Plus all releases should have sufficient markings without having to make them "Premium Finish" versions that come at a premium price. The other smaller companies that are making macross/robotech/mospeada products are already doing this and not pricing their stuff astronomically, like what Arcadia is doing... and include a display stand, please.

Changed up my MacZero display a little bit.

I'm really glad Bandai included stands with these and made them this dark brownish color, so any discoloration that might occur in the future won't be noticeable. The decals are a great touch too. I've sworn off buying any more of those overpriced clear tamashii stands after my old Stage Act 2 set eventually yellowed over time. Plus the connection between those tubular stand arms and the joints becomes loose over time and use.

I did need to mod the battroid stand connector so I could mount the VF-0A on the sturdier main stand arm and get it that low and angled... plus I really don't like having to use the fighter mode wings and spread them open so they don't hit the stand arm.

HMR battroids are more fun to pose than the 1/60s.

It's odd that the battroid stand connector for the HMR VF-0 has a peg instead of a hole like with the fighter and gerwalk connectors. I had to clip off the peg and drill a hole and then use a Figma adapter for this to work.

I have the Threezero VF-1J and 1S, and I will admit that these are best roughly 1/60 scale VF-1 toys so far. They're not perfect, but they do more things better than the others. So not everything with the Robotech label is subpar, or at least not anymore.

I'm jealous... still no sign of my threezero VF-1S arriving locally. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

  17. Finally secured my preorders for the Riobot Tread and 2 x Legioss ETA reissue from a local shop. Seeing as the preorder deadline is until Mar. 6, I wasn't in too much of a hurry. Came out to around $625 for the 3 with a $75 downpayment. This is gonna be a long wait...

Nice pose. :good: VF-4 battroid really looks best when it's looks like its flying through the air rather than standing on ground.

Thanks. Really loving the VF-4. Still have an extra one sealed... thinking about whether to keep it and display in Gerwalk mode which always reminds me of the original sketch.

But my main motivation to display it in a flying pose in battroid is to be able to use the stand with Misa and Minmay on it. :)

Tweaked it a little bit so it's mounted higher on the stand and more centered to the position of the 1/60.

Has Bandai ever done anything for Mospeada. I couldn’t think of anything, but it would be cool to see

Only way I can see this happening is if Bandai decides to produce a new show (Mospeada: Frontier ???) and believe they can market their merch during its run. But then the characters and story would probably end up more like Delta than the original or even the genesis breakers side story. :unknw:
