First off, I'm not a fan of Delta anime. At all.

That said, recently got a rather heavily-discounted VF-31AX Mirage a month or so ago.  About 8k-yen only coz of a supposedly "cracked" horn, but it ain't a big deal. Think the previous owner was just way too anal about the minor "crack".

As such, didn't really thought much about it other than to give my lonely Hayate-31AX a partner since I already have the VF-31C/J partnership also.

Once I got it and stuff, I actually really felt a great liking to Mirage's 31AX that I didn't have with the Hayate. Somehow, even with the corny horn (cracked or not) and stuff, it really is a much nicer 31AX and much better to be side-by-side with the VF-31C:

Unfortunately, the fitment issue is really bothering me. Guess I just really don't care about the Hayate having the same issue, but somehow, the issue bothers me alot more on the Mirage-31AX:

8k yen?!  Wish I could find deals like that for DX Chogokin VFs.  Great score :good:

it should be reasonable to expect the price to approach 10k

Silver lining is, at 27k JPY msrp, this could realistically go down to as much as 13.5k JPY... good enough for a fighter mode only 1/60 model?

  3. I've been reading through the recent posts and it's just sad that these big companies are trying soooo hard not to give collectors exactly what they want (their apparent business model for repeat business) that they're doing something as blatantly obvious as reprinting a MacF VF-171 and selling as a Mac7 VF-17.  Guess bold-faced lies are the in thing right now everywhere you look.

I have the Dana/Jean. Haven’t opened it yet though. Does the armor stay on well? I hear it’s just glued to the fabric.

The thigh armors do feel like they're just lightly glued to the fabric and the skirt is just a floating piece.  Can't really handle/pose these 2 like I would a SHF or even a Figma cuz the fabric might permanently be stretched or even tear.  I also discovered that these KC figures don't have much, if any, ankle pivot, so no wide A-stances.  Thought of keeping them in the box but feared that the white fabric might eventually get yellow storage stains.  Still looks great on display and I like them cuz they got the face/headsculpt right, unlike the earlier ones with dopey faces.  I was hoping they would redo Misa and Minmay, and make a Milia as Advanced figures but I guess KC is currently too busy making ugly-faced Zentradi figures.

And my cat love watching Freiren. He likes odd kinda calm bright animation. Personally She kinda makes me feel sleepy, but the cat loves the show.

It's just purely on basis of artwork the character designs of Lunar grabs me, & Freiren is somehow giving me the same vibe.

I find myself quite enamored by the animation, the character designs, most characters' personalities and their subsequent fleshing out and development that I can endure the slow pace of the storytelling.  Plus I like pretty female elves (still kicking myself for not getting the PUP Ryuu Lion figure).

I have to say though, there's something uniquely satisfying about acquiring a figure of a character from a 40+ year old show you only have memories of as a kid and never really expecting to have a modern toy/action figure of :D.

There are files to 3d print the Hovercycle. It had been my hope that someone on this board with a printer might be in the mood for a little extra cash and sell them to those of us that bought the figure.

Got this on a whim since it was available for less than $80 shipped.  While I have fond memories of watching Dana in Robotech Masters as a kid, Southern Cross is the only one out of the three I haven't watched from start to finish in its original anime form.

This'll be my one and only Masters/SC merch and I'm not really sure where to display her.  I'm thinking, since there are 2 of Dana in this set, one can hang out in my SDFM shelf and the other in my Mospeada shelf.

Still hoping for completed toys of the Hovercycle (in scale w/ Dana) and Hovertank, available for retail.

    ... in my lifetime.

  8. I was finally able to track down a MTMTE Perceptor for a good price and it arrived today.  I'm glad I held off for this version.  True to form, though, for Hasbro, I had to clean up some gray paint on his head and left eye... looked like Perceptor just woke up with eye booger.  I also wish his legs were a tad bit longer.

G1 Perceptor was one of only four TF toys I had as a kid and nearly 40 years later, I have a Perceptor toy again.  Thinking back, I believe my folks got me that G1 Perceptor thinking I would play with it more as a microscope...

Toyrise foot (looks like standing on tippy toes or as if wear super-high stiletto heels):

    Toynami Alpha foot:

What I'm wondering is, instead of configuring the front foot and heel like this for soldier:

...configure it like how it looks here in diver for soldier mode. Balance issues maybe?:

There's another pose where you can kinda see the inner part of the foot joint mechanism.

From that angle I wish it had a normal cockpit/canopy. The top of the head sticking out looks weird. But I'm really liking the colors.

    Devastation Bumblebee.

    bee01.jpg.7bbe330817548eb5434bef6106ea7b81.jpg

Out of the gate I'm getting pretty good vibes from this figure.  The bot mode is like 90% G1 Bumblebee, with noticeably better proportions than either SS86 Bee or Retro/Netflix Bee.  But the panels on his shins and the shape of his feet give me '06 Classics Bumblebee vibes, and I don't hate that.

I mean, Classics is nearly as old today as G1 was when Classics first hit shelves, and Classics is when I started getting into collecting Transformers as an adult,

Same here.  Although, I only have around 5 left.  Not really a big TF collector.  I probably only have 1% of the size of your collection

I've been recently intrigued and tempted to get this Devastation Bumblebee, even if I'm not familiar with the game, cuz it reminded me of Classics Bee.  I didn't get SS86 cuz of the head/face, feet/wheels and overall proportions, but this one does better in all those areas... plus those cell-shaded windows! I've been watching reviews and wondering if those yellow shins can be removed just like what I did with Classics Bee (also removed the doors on his forearms, effectively rendering him into a partsformer).  But based on your pictures, the lower legs are hollow and have holes where those shins slot in <_<.  Still on the fence, but a very informative review nonetheless.

I was able to pick up the new Hot Rod today and was so disappointed with it.  Compared to the original one, this one has a couple of QC issues. The right leg doesn't close together tightly in robot mode and left shoulder is a floppy mess. After seeing the two together though, I think I like the color of the original one better even though the new one is more accurate.

I've been reading a slew of things wrong with this release from mismatched paint, broken legs, disintegrating tabs, loose joints, chipped/scraped paint, stress markings.
There's been a lot of talk that Hasbro is really dropping the ball with their releases.

Really?  If these are widespread issues, it might be prudent to cancel my preorder and wait for the Takara release 🤔

We haven't seen fighter yet right? Does the drone talk mean it doesn't have a cockpit?

It's in the 3-mode promo pic @Black Valkyrie posted above. The head IS the cockpit. IIRC, the old drone had no head and still had what looked like a cockpit/canopy shape in fighter.
