  1. Just got the new proto garland from yamato (see ad at top of page ) and it is amazing. No QC issues what so ever with mine! Man it is 20 umpteen gagillion times better than the first garland toy. At risk of offending all us valk lovers (me included ) I think that this is one of the best mech toys that Yamato has put out. Sturdy construction, super articulation, fixed alll the issues that I can see from the first toy's design, nice QC, and all around very high recomendation to anyone who's into mech collecting. Don't pass this one up guys! One of the best toys in my current collection and I have just about everything these days. I actually might like it better than my 19. - Nghia
  2. Man, I don't know what the big issue is. I use my addiction to Macross toys to force me to be more successful at my career. More cash = more valks. I started out as a freelance comic book artist years ago and now I'm a technical director at a game company all in the name of my growing valk collection. :P So use it as a positive force in your life! Think of vast fleets of yamato valks and how you are going to attain them.
  3. Just run around with a rubber stamp the reads "1/60". Tag 'em when you see 'em.
  4. Have you seen the PS2 vs. the PS3? LOL. It defenitely did not get smaller as technology grew.
  5. Yeah, but check this out. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/y...tcomparison.jpg WTF? 1/55 to 1/60. I know the old chunkies are way wrong in every way possible but 5% diff equals that? Wish I can look at a real VF to verify scale LOL. I guess we'll have to take Yamato's word for it.
  6. They should be the same as scale is scale. But the thing that weirds me out is that the VF-1's are actually that smal and it doesn't seem right at all as real planes are freaking huge. I guess the zero's addressed the scale issue as the redesign of the VF-1. Now we'll see what size the pilots are going to be. LOL.
  7. Man, I'm already at about step 10. I feel like the fat girl crying in the shower while eating donuts.
  8. All I have to say is that I want Yamato deisgns and Bandai QC. Nuff said. BTW, did any of you guys think that the new supervalk looked a hell of a lot like a stampede valk?
  9. I hate Yamato. I hate them so much. Just when I thought that I was about to be done with my Valkoholism they throw me 100 feet from the wagon. And I was all, like, I can't wait for all this macross collecting to be over to all my friends. (sigh) There goes all my extra cash for the next few years; cocaine and hookers would be a cheaper hobby at this point. And this with all the other cool stuff comming out. Oh well, I guess this makes up for me not having valks as a kid. :D :D So what to do with my old 1/60's? I just hope they have the same price point as the OG 1/60's.
  10. Heh heh. I panic posted. I've been swamped at work and was forwarded this trailer and freaked pretty hard. LOL
  11. Hey guys, have you changed anything at MW? Because I can't get it at home through time warner. It comes up at work and all the other people I know can run it from my area and I was wondering if something's happened to where Ican't get it at home these days. Any help would be great.
  12. Hey guys! Did you see the new YF-21 commercial on you tube?!!!!!

    ID these SD's

Actually, they are a set of capsule toys that were launched around DYRL. I remember getting a bunch of them when I was a kid at my local comic shop.
  14. Hey whay are the pilots in 1/48 the same size as the 1/60 scale?
  15. Raven's version yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. What the heck is Future anyway? Is it a floor wax or acrylic? There's a site that has a tutorial on mixing to get dull future coats here (it's really hard core/ check out the finished models section): http://www.fichtenfoo.com/02GiantRobots/02c-future.html Is it really that strong? I find that there's always some friction scrapage with whatever top coat I use. Is future able to handle parts rubbing on each other?
  17. Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just got the armoured Zero in the mail today and thing is freakishly huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man it's kinda' scary. Don't know how to deal with it until I get a chance to test fit the darn thing! Just affraid that I might not be able to get the armour off without scratching the paint off the body.
  18. "Yeah i too was thinkin ages back owning a proper Protoculture DYRL? final battle song lyric thinghy would be awesome. " Actually one does exist. I have one that came with my 1/6 vinyl Misa Hayase figure. It came as a seperate part and not really featured as an item. When I saw it in the box durring a show I knew I had to have it. I also believe that there might be a wind-up minmay doll out there some where that comes in the book. The only other obscure stuff that I can think of would be the wierd GERWALK, Minmay with Dragon, and Skull Squadron stickers that came with random character model kits from Imai. Nghia -
  19. Seriously, I need to play some of the later DMC games. DMC1 was good, but needed a bit of polish IMO(most notably to me, the roll command was configured unintuitively). I'd've probably appreciated it more if I'd played it before PN3. Both games are actually built on similar principles, but PN3 benefits from being the producers' second attempt at that style of play. Man, DMC3 was an almost perfect acion game. Controls are like butter and the art was some of the best I've ever seen. The baddies were awesome and original and it was the same Dante you remember from the first game but way more amped up. You check out all the superplays here... http://homepage3.nifty.com/shin3/movie/movie.htm It also has about 2.5 hrs of in-game cinematics.
  20. Sweet! I've been wanting that game since I've heard about it. Although I did hear that the framerate is horrible though. That's something that every developer on this planet is fighting hard against. The great news is that I heard that Devil May Cry 4 is at 60 FPS already and will be playable at TGS this year. CAPCOM is going really conservative with their graphics overall and are first and formost making their games playable. I love those guys. They're deffinitley my fav game developer.
  21. None of them are very good though. The budgets are usually low and the controls and flying modes are kind of lame for each of the titles. I have them all and played them all. I wish that they would turn it up a notch or so with the production quality. Ghost in the Shell: SAC was actually good considering it was a small budget game. They had apprpriate design that fits the series and universe and the control scheme was pretty nice as well as the art. The new Japanese only version of Berserk was also cool. Macross always feels like it gets the backburner for games to me. I also feel the same way about Gundam titles.
  22. Man I wish someone would just make a real game for Macross. It would be really easy these days with next gen consoles to make the M0 valks run in real time. They can just port those assets over and render them with normal maps then voi la!!!!!! Instant Macross game.
  23. Well the team has moved on in a lot of ways and Ion Storm is no more but Warren Spector is moving on to do more of the same in different genres. Harvey Smith was in charge of the second one and took it into more of an arcady feel which I don't agree with and he eventually moved on to Midway Austin. Warren however is working with some great guys and will be doing more good stuff soon. If you guys like games like DX then try out Prey, Oblivion, Resident Evil 4, and Thief. All of those are close in depth but lean in one way or another. I personally think that RE4 is the best game that has ever been made. I'm currently living in Santa Ana, CA right by the airport and shopping mall and will be joining the Oblivion team as an Art Director. If you want to see more recent stuff you can find it here... http://nghia59.cgsociety.org/gallery/ Watch out for adult content though.
  24. Here's a mech that never made it in...
  25. Man, it's so funny to read about Deus Ex on my fav site. I was the assistant lead artist on it. I like Macross way better though. You can tell I tried to add a bit of Ghost in the Shell with that Spider mech and some of the weapons. I guess I tried to get the guys to make it an anime game as much as possible. My friend Peter was one of the lead artists on Freespace and got them to make the missles a la Macross. Ha ha. Macross fans are everywhere!!!!!!!!!
