  1. I think most of us already posted our opinions of movie megs. Mine was he looks like a crushed up soda can. with a really, really scary head. RAAR!
  2. me too. I do mine with a mechanical pencil so they are very subtle. And it only takes half an hour and little to no skill level.
  3. I see the Walker Galliar is out.. anyone got it yet? Thoughts?
  4. I just picked up the Classics Prime and I'm surprised how much I like it. heaps of fun to transform and super poseable. I actually like it a lot more than the MP starscream which I got at the same time.
  5. aaaaah. Thanks Dri. *slaps own head* They're not bad. So long as you don't hate PVC with a firey passion they're good. detail's good, poseability is great, paint job is good, nice decals, and not too many bumps/blemishes for a pvc toy. I did want to get them but wasn't prepared to pay the stupid prices. Then hlj had a 65% off sale on them and I'd bought them 10 seconds later. I see the Standing Tortoise is still available on the hlj sale page.
  6. I'm a day late and a dollar short to this thread but.. I just bought the Max Factory 1/35 toys on sale at hlj - the Standing Tortoise, Bloodsucker and Scopedoggie. They ARE pvc but great detail and articulation. If anyone else has these can you tell me why the little square plugs on the sides of the torso are removeable?
  7. somebody has too much time. Or there's a secret MW munchkin. Maybe a corruption after our recent hacking...? MW has gone all Hal on us. Well I got done a while ago. I need to post something profound or hilarious to get rid of 'not enough sucking'. And you already know I won't suck for sigs! oh god if I get changed to 'will suck for sigs' I am so leaving and signing up at rt.com.
  8. my thoughts.. If you ever change careers you should take up cricket commentating! and somebody shoot that damn dog! oh, and the review is great too.
  9. every pic I see my interest grows less. They look like a cross between a scrunched up aluminium can and Bionicles. Prime's new catch phrase should be "Can-Formers, Recycle!"
  10. wow, but HBO. I love so much of the series they make. Band of Brothers, Oz, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, etc etc, now Preacher! cool. I'm liking this a lot more than the now dead and buried movie idea. With (IIRC) the dude who played Cyclops in the x-men movies.
  11. I saw those pics - maybe a Glock would be the best gun to base Megs on as it's nice and big and chunky. Dunno the release date.. it was what, about 6 months from when Starscream was first announced to when he hit the shelves?
  12. re the legs being skinny, is there a way to have the inner side contain a 'pull out' inner leg to make them thicker in robot mode? I can't think of a better way to describe this so I hope you get what I mean.
  13. cute pics! Looks like the sketch was done when Dancouga was on the Lettuce Diet.
  14. A little OT from the Gunbuster mania, anyone who owns the Dancougar, what do you think of it? Worth the money? Cool factor? gimmicks? problems? worth getting? And on that note, which in your opinions is the WORST (or least excellent) SOC? Mine would have to be teh Xabungle - even though it looks great I can never play with it cos it falls to pieces.
  15. haha, that's the first thing I thought of too.
  16. check out the SOC Chogokin thread on this page.. that will get you drooling.
  17. awesome: and at a guess, is the little guy in the below pic about the same size as the little star wars Action Fleet figures?
  18. after IMAI went under Aoshima bought the molds IIRC.
  19. Yeah, it's tough because they sell out so fast. I started collecting late (when the Getter Dragon came out IIRC) but luckily I was in HK when the bug hit so I got good deals on the Mazinger and Great Mazinger. And thanks to the re-releases I got the Combattler, Getter Liger and Posiedon. I love all the ones I have, my only gripe is the Xabungle. I haven't touched it since I bought it.. too afraid everything will fall off.
  20. No, I know exactly what you mean Drifand - it's a dichotomy.. I want the chunky blocky look cos that's what I love about 'bots like the Soltic and Dougram. but also want more that 4 points of articulation.. and having that means it's got to be more humanoid to accommodate all that movement. Although my yamato Scopedog does both quite nicely. I have the Lia too and for a PVC toy it's tops! Except for the light gray thin and sickly looking shotgun it comes with.
  21. I haven't had any interest in this line until I saw the Soltic. I blame nostalgic feelings cos I had one as a kid. I see what Drifand means about 'men in suits' - I put this down to there never has been a articulated Dougram toy til now (from my knowlege) - all the toys and kits I've ever seen have been blocky 80's chunky monkeys.
  22. I'm a total SOC junkie but I'm a bit 'meh' about the Walker Galliar and the Ideon. I bought a HCM Walker Galliar to keep my SOC Xabungle company so I doubt I'll get the SOC version, especially when the price is around $70. If I have some money in my bank I'll be getting the Gunbuster for sure. Now if I won the lottery I would definitely be getting the Fewture Getters 2 and 3. I love my #1. And the Aoshima black getter looks great too (the poor man's Fewture Ryoma, lol): http://www.toysdaily.com/04topic/chogokin/...blackgetter.htm
  23. well spotted! I swapped the 1/60 head with the spare head from the 1/72 kit.. I thought it looked heaps better.
