on a totally nitpicking note, I think I'll be modding the vents painted grey on the airbrake to black. Note 2: The detail on the pilot is excellent.

yep. that was the first ever Aliens comic books. They are great. I always lamented that Alien 3 wasn't based on them.

actually the hands is the only thing I didn't paint. I agree, they are a really ugly shade of blue. The pics are bad but I did airbrush the panel lines and shade in the the brown over the top. PS - I always love your endearing words of encouragement sebastian!

didn't want to start a new thread for something this boring, but I had an idea to do a desert version of the MG Kampher. I'm gonna dry brush some dirt and rust on him, as he would probably be a heavy-use ground unit. Sorry for bad pics. It wasn't the best idea to take a photo of a brown model in front of a brown wall.

NP mate. As for the light blue parts, unfortunately i'm 99 percent sure that's going to be the final color. When he was on display earlier this year at one of the toy cons he had the same light blue on the parts in question and it doesn't look like that's changed. 392875[/snapback] eeeww. what were they thinking? They would have been much better done in black than light blue. If I get him the first thing I'm doing after getting him outta the box is priming and painting those bits black. I really did think that was prototype parts as I often see proto toys in the same shade of light blue plastic.

My memory of Meltdown might be biased with nostalgia as I read it so long ago.. Maybe it's like watching tv shows you loved as a kid as an adult and realising they're pretty bad. Like Monkey. Or the Goodies. Well I got my pile of TPB's from Amazon and read em all. I loved Walking Dead. It really gets it right on the feeling of believiability. I kept thinking "what would I do?" and that's what would happen in the book. Kingdom Come was excellent too. The Jeff Loeb batman books were good pulp crime fun and tied in with Miller's Year One amazingly. Now I'm just waiting for the next books of 100 Bullets, Fables and Walking Dead to come out. :impatient: PS - has anyone read Torso by Brian Michael Bendis? Looks interesting but I don't know anything about it.

I thought about that.. but I reckon they are so strong they would withstand any fire! Just a little repaint. Or keep it as a battle damaged version. I should be getting my APC any day now.

Look I have to kiss arse for once and agree with the mods. I acutally like the 'who decides' line. We're not a bunch of 15 year olds. Face it, our hobby is over 20 years old so WE'RE old too. I don't want to turn up to MW to find adolecent-level threads started to attract attention rather than post something interesting. I enjoy topics about new tech, internet ephemera, pop culture etc but not 'hey look at me post the entire contents of my favourite stupid website/blog' thread. At the risk of sounding like a commie I believe 95% of us are on the same wavelength about the calibre of threads in the Sci Fi section.

well your fish would be OK, being in water and all.. hehe. Actually kanata you have inspired me to do something to protect my toys. Maybe not a sprinkler system. More like I will just move the smoke detector into the toy room so it gets top priority. AND I will keep a bucket of water in the corner of the room too.

that's from people like me who check the thread every 6 minutes to see if there are new pics, but are then disappointed to find posts (like mine) saying stuff like "I can't wait!"

haha, if I could only grab one item while the house was burning, I'd burn to death trying to pick one to take. I'd probably go for my low viz as it's worth the most on a single toy basis. If I could cheat, I'd probably scoop my whole shelf of 16 Chogokin toys... or my 3 Gakken alphas and ride armor. or my lovingly painted PG kits. or... AAAHHHHH BURNING!
