  1. Quite nice effort from MClub.

I'd still get the official MCGFF version from Bandai first as it's the right thing to do. If I wasn't able to get one at retail / near retail price, then I'd consider getting the MClub release.

Doubt I would get too. Not sure if I need that much Char Zaku in my life.

Can MClub please make some GMs? Like the 0083 Armored GM or Unicorn Jesta? :p

The -29 had several changes, the original was the worst, though it certainly wasn't 'bad' as I recall.  Most notable is the revised "support strut" for Gerwalk mode (wider/thicker, with a longer and possibly off-set tab?).  I believe the VF-25 renewal had a somewhat similar change to improve Gerwalk.    The -25 renewal also later modified the intake area (Michael and Luca's?), for the Super Part hip armor to clip in better (I really wish my Alto had that mod).

Ah I see. Thanks for clearing that up. :good:

  3. The same anecdotal evidence could be taken from the VF-25 V2 series. I didn't think there were any adjustments to that design for any of the toys in that series. Granted the Ver 1 was kind of the test bed for that series right?

If the DX VF-1 is fine on the VF-1J I wouldn't expect Bandai revise the DX with Ver 1.1, 1.2 etc.

They did well on the 31 series as mentioned. Also the 29 too?

I was thinking, it's funny, this will probably be the worst release QC wise, and we all kinda know that, but we're all still tripping over ourselves to get one.

I find it interesting how the interest changed a lot since the announcement this year. I recall it was a split of people people saying they didn't want anything to do with a 1/48 line since they already invested heavily in their 1/60 line, and the other set of members saying they'd buy it since it's almost like a the V3 of Perfect Transformation VF-1 or members who just cannot pass up any release of the VF-1.

So many of us looking forward to the DX.

unless it's just because members who are not interested and no longer participating in the thread. :p

I'm looking forward to this release A LOT. I'm hoping there aren't any 1st release syndrome issues as jenius is predicting. Look at the VF-19 Adv and the YF-19 Full Pack. It went the other way in for those.

  5. Not sure where to post this, but good news for Aussie collectors! Amazon.com is again shipping to Australia (with GST added). I'm not sure if this includes any of the other International site.

Also if you're an Aussie wanting to take advantage of that 15% off eBay coupon, you need to create a US eBay account with a US address. Items are not limited to ones shipped only to the US. You can find the item on the eBay AU, then remove .AU from the URL, purchase with your US account and ship to your AU address.

Hmm... HLJ probably bank on the Aussie buyers will buy from them to save the hassle of dealing import tax after 1st July this year. So far I think HLJ is the only company that collect GST for Australia government. For those sellers that do not do this, the goods will be taxed at custom and I suspect that the Australian custom would slap you an.expensive processing fee on top of the tax. Has any Aussies here know if one would be slapped with other charges on top of the tax?

It doesn't quite work that way.

Before the new GST collection scheme went into effect, Australia buyers could import up to $999 worth of items per shipment tax free. Now all purchases from overseas retailers whose earnings are above a certain threshold, but collect GST from all Australian buyers whose order is below $1000. GST must be collected against the item and the shipping.

For sellers that are not collecting GST and reporting their Australian sales to the ATO (Australian Taxation Office) on a quarterly basis are actually at an advantage compared to HLJ, whose prices are instantly 10% more on check out. There aren't many customers who would be ordering upward of $1000 of items in a single shipment. It would be cheaper to split your shipments so they all come under $1000 and you avoid any import tax at customs. Any discount that HLJ is giving (usually the JP sales tax) is negated by the GST. I'm actually shopping much LESS at HLJ now because of this.

It's not just HLJ collecting GST. Amiami, CD Japan, YesAsia (to name just a few) are also collecting GST from Australian customers. I don't think Nippon Yasan are though. I'm not sure about Hobby Search.

Amazon international sites have outright declined from shipping to Australia now (even if a page says the item is eligible for Australian shipping). They just didn't want to deal with submitting a quarterly tax report for EVERYONE of their international sites (there are so many). Also it drives more traffic to their overly expensive AU site, which has bust a fraction of international items that you can order

So yo answer your question. Aussies should not be double charged for GST. If the retailer is cooperating as they have been requested by the ATO and collecting GST on purchases under $1000, then a buyer will either get charged GST upfront from the retailer or will get hit with GST at customs for shipments declared over $1000 - which is how you can avoid import tax if the retailer declares your shipment under $1000. :)

  7. Yep that backpack being too high is an eye sore.

Those top side air intakes are pretty massive.

What's up with the wings being stuck behind the shoulders in gerwalk (sorry guardian mode)?

I do love the detailing though.

Funny that the air brake is not painted on the inside of those recesses.

Side covers look to be copied from Yamarcadia, which were also not anime accurate. Too bad they didn't opt to design them as they were shown in episode 1/2.

But! BEST looking ROBOTECH toy to date. Good on them!

Just got up and see that it's sold out at NY and HLJ, my usual go-to places. :(

    Has Amazon listed this yet?

Apparently Amazon JP are not shipping the VF-4 to the US.

  9. Decided not PO this one. At $150 AUD just for the toy at Amiami, after shipping it'll be a little ludicrous for me.

Prefer to wait until release date and see if it gets a discount or I can get it through work.

And if they are moving into 0083 next then they have me hooked. Stardust is one of my favorite series. I would love a squad of Marine Geloogs, Chima's, and Gato's. Plus they can do the GM Customs, need all three, and the Guncanon II. Definitely going to be a line I keep up with.

Oh boy I'd be up for a Powered GM if they do more 0083. Maybe GM Custom and Guncannon II.

Hey VF-Zer0S. Don't get me wrong. I do read his feedback before buying it. I probably just gave him the benefit of the doubt since the seller has somehow a 70/30 ratio of good feedback. And I'm kind of got excited on the price tag too. Can't blame me there. ;)

That is awful! That happened to me on eBay too! I bought the MoShow 1:72 Strike from a seller, and got sent a keychain. The seller had perfect feedback before I purchased the item, and after the ordeal his feedback was rock bottom, and his account was deleted, so checking feedback isn't always reliable, as scammers can generate fake feedback pretty easily. Fortunately I got all my money back from PayPal, but the bad thing is - Did PayPal get money back from the scammer... probably not, so they lose in the end.
