  1. It's even animated in the Forum view! At least in FF 9.0.1 on OS Lion.
  2. Why does this matter to us? It's not like it's going to be subbed. As much as I love Macross, there's no way in hell that I'd pay that kind of loot without subs. So for me, it's a non-issue.
  3. The ranks emulate the insignia found in a variety of sources, mostly from SDFM, DYRL and Plus. Incidentally, they are the same ranks we used for the old MW Nexus boards but we felt they would fit better here in a simplified format. IIRC, we found them in an artbook somewhere and cleaned them up a number of years ago. They are as follows: Corporal - Staff Sgt - Warrant Officer - 2nd Lieutenant - 1st Lieutenant - Captain - Major - Lieutenant. Colonel - Colonel - Brigadier General - Major General - Lieutenant General - General - Here's some reference info on them... http://macross.anime...wiki/U.N._Spacy The post counts that will advance you to the next rank .... we'll let you figure that out as you post The Mods and Admins have different rank images as you've probably noticed. Mods - Admins -
  4. pfunk. This is your official Mod warning. You are required to post the old animated version of your avatar.....or else!
  5. Does the fold booster attach natively or did you jury rig it?
  6. Holy crap, I had never heard of that! Here's the wikipedia blurb about the incident... Link to pics... http://tailslide.firelightsoftware.com/f15wing.asp OK, back to fantasy aircraft talk! Resume topic...
  7. I'm also pretty sure it was seen as one of the model fighters Hikaru had in his quarters in DYRL.
  8. Won't matter to me as mine will likely never leave fighter mode
  9. Dammit....I'm in. Fighter mode is just too sexy for me to not be.
  10. I hope Yamato finds a way to make the legs look a little more rounded in their version. The SHE kit looks a little too Chunky Monkey for my tastes.
  11. OK, I've edited the topic title to hopefully clear up the confusion about it being a TOY.
  12. Thanks! I hope you get around to it. The 1/60 v2 VE-1's are nearing unobtanium status, and since Yamato has seen fit to release unpainted VF kits, I bet these would go together and sell very well since there are lots of folks who missed out on the VE-1's.
  13. LOL, I didn't get why you said that until I saw the "Crane Style" pose. I'm not a fan of this (or many) of the overly gaudy Mac 7 valks, but this one seems to be a real gem in terms of poseability.
  14. This looks really cool. Is there a possibility of a scaled down version for the 1/60 v2 Valkyries? This may help fill the gap for those of us who missed out on the VE-1.
  15. Uh oh....we know what that means. Time to sell a kidney if you're interested in this one...
  16. Indeed, PG Gundam kits are where it's at. I was locked in combat with the PG GP01 for two entire days during which I skipped SLEEP to finish it. However, I gotta say the 1/3000 SDF-1 is no slouch in that department either. Not so much the construction as the incredible amount of tiny details that you should be beaten repeatedly if you overlook during assembly. Anyhoo, back on VF-17 topic...
  17. Despite it being pricey, you could release the parts a few at a time through a Shapeways store. Doesn't cost you anything, and it would allow interested parties to buy it a bit at a time to offset the cost. You'll still have to prototype the parts you've designed and make sure they fit etc but that's part of the joy of being the guy who designs the thing
  18. I can't believe that this is almost done!! A true labor of love that I've watched take shape for years now. I salute you for having the wherewithal to stick this one out. I don't think I could ever be that dedicated.
  19. Right now, it's a check in the "possible" column for me. Without cockpit and pilot details it isn't doing much for me. And I hate the opaque canopy.
  20. Crap. Guess my VF-1J's going up for sale as custom fodder. Thanks Yamato
  21. The level of detail on the ARMD's is SICK! These things are the bane of my existence right now. Every time I think I'm getting close to done, I find something I haven't even started yet! Here's a pic of them about 90% assembled. They've been hit a couple of times with an oil wash, then cleaned up etc. Still left to do is a final oil wash then cleanup, paint in the windows, paint the 8 zillion little thrusters that go on each one in some Tamiya light gunmetal, attach the thrusters, add the decals...then clearcoat....
  22. And that works out well because EXO is on the West Coast and I'm on the East Coast. Shipping will be cheap for both of us.
  23. Anybody else just panel lining theirs and not painting the whole shebang? I want to panel line mine but can't decide whether I should bust out the micron or gundam markers and hope for the best, or if I should do a thinned paint or oil wash. I'm wondering how well a wash would work on the bare plastic without a gloss clearcoat.
