  1. Wow. I was shocked and saddened to hear this. I just met him at last year's Otakon and he graciously signed my DYRL poster. RIP Ishiguro Sama
  2. Nope. I placed my order on Feb 15th, they went into production on Feb 20th and didn't ship until March 13th. Do you know what the dimensions on Sanjeev's ball joint are supposed to be? They say there's a .01mm variance. If I can find that out, then I can contact them and tell them it's off by x amount etc.
  3. Got mine today, had no trouble fitting them, but there must have been an error because the shoulder ball joints are EXTREMELY loose. Like, the arms won't stay horizontal at all. According to my digital calipers, the original ball ends (from two different sets of Yamato shoulders) are 5.9mm and the ones from Shapeways are 5.7mm. Unfortunate because they're otherwise great and ordering another set from Shapeways will take another month or more. For the time being, I'm going back to the beige hinges.
  4. OK, ordered from BBTS and HLJ. Hopefully one of them comes through. This recent spate of preorders opening up makes me wonder if Bandai hasn't gotten wind of the demand and upped their production run.
  5. Frak this, I'm holding out for the CF version. Maybe by then Bandai will have some sense and stop playing this ridiculous game.
  6. Yeah, but the YF-19 is anything but obscure. I'd be happy if they just gave us a v2 reissue. SMS logos are an easy customization to add.
  7. First, they'd have to do a v2 of the YF-19 fixing all the issues that made the first one crap.
  8. I for one would love an SMS version of Isamu's 19.
  9. iShop2go has it up for preorder... http://www.ishop2go.com/productUR_030_PR_0000336_Prt_en.html
  10. Can't say I'm wild about the color scheme but I LOVE THIS VALK so it's a must-have.
  11. We use Invision Power Board software and they have a mobile app (at least for the iPhone).

    SCOOP thread!

YAY! Thanks Yamato for making us spend over $100 for $10 worth of add on parts!

    SCOOP thread!

So, the top row of pics makes it look like Yamato is going to re-release the 1J, 1D and 1S with option parts?
  14. MOD WARNING - How about we (and by we, I mean YOU) tone down the condescending comments. You're as big a nerd as the rest of us. - MOD WARNING
  15. Ordered one...just in case the whole (weird) AE thing falls through.
  16. Once you've got this perfected for two shoulders, I'm in. I've got a 1J that's currently sporting beige 1D shoulders!
  17. Placed my order through Anime Export as well. I too am a bit leary about sending them damn near $200 up front.
  18. More to the point... http://tamashii.jp/item/item.php?eid=01499&saihanumu=01&hatsubai7=2012&hatsubai4=05
  19. Just finished watching the series finale of Chuck and all I can say is WTF? On the one hand, I guess I should be happy that they obviously set it up for some kind of follow on. But on the other hand....perhaps not?
  20. That depends on you. The way I see it, there's MW prices (which is essentially friend prices), and Rest of the World prices (IE: eBay prices). I picked one up a couple of weeks ago from a member here for $275 shipped.
  21. Yes. This is what rapid prototyping traditionally has been used for. Design a part, and instead of having to have said part made in a traditional, lengthy and often outsourced process, you have it printed on a 3D printer. If the part is good, then you can mold it etc, or go on to have it manufactured. So, yes, you could mold and recast the part. As with any part, it will be as strong as the medium it is cast in.
  22. It comes molded in three different colors. Gray, Blue, Beige and Clear. For the most part you do not need cement as it is a toy and is held together with screws. However, that being said, most people who have bought the kit have received kits with missing screws (myself included). So, I had to glue mine in a few instances where I was either missing a screw or in an area where I knew I wouldn't need to get at it again. If you're buying the kit to save a few bucks on the completed toy....DON'T! It requires extensive assembly. If you're familiar with PG Gundam kits then this won't be a surprise to you, but you will have to apply decals to the ARMD platforms etc. Also, the level of fine surface details on the kit is ASTONISHING. So, if you get one, and build it up without at least panel lining it, you've committed a crime against the kit. That being said, all I did was do some oil and acrylic washes on mine, and apply the decals and I think it looks great. So, in short, if you think you can buy the kit and save a few bucks buy building it yourself, don't do it. If you want to build it up and detail the hell out of it, or just panel line it etc., it's all for you.
