yeah, 3ds max. I may learn Maya, too, though, since it's more widely used for character stuff. I just wish that Max and Maya would play together more nicely.

Uh... not to delve into your personal life, but if that's your assessment, what are you doing with her, still? Sounds like neither of you are happy with what the other is willing to give/capable of giving. I'd put on some EX-Gear and make a break for it in that situation.

Ha. I just checked this thread, and had to go backwards to see the -28. So, I read all this stuff about the shield looking like a swimsuit, and the valk looking a bit feminine. And then I saw it. Yes, that valk looks effectively feminine without looking un-valkish. Awesome. And wow, the shield does look pretty much dead like a woman's torso. What's the deal with the belly button? Either way, I think it's a cool design. I usually think high heels on robots are something we have to tolerate because they make the robot look feminine, but are otherwise ridiculous, but, for some reason, it didn't seem like much of a stretch on that model. More practical than some of the mecha from Godannar, that's for sure.

Just adding my 2 cents worth: Awesome. Made me want to watch Macross 7 -- which is the series I haven't seen. But, in context of all the awesome stuff from other shows, even 7 looks awesome.

WTF?! How are you so awesome at what you do? The coloring job on that is really blowing me away. Also, though it's clearly not the main focus, I wanted to say that I love that you added some grain (or noise) to the background. It makes it so much more textured than a simple clean gradient.

Woooowwwwww. Not only is that awesome, but it gives me some ideas for my own work. I rigged this VF-1 I'm working with, but I tried to keep the rig sorta realistic in terms of the bending, but it made the thing really stiff, I note that it's got bend to the point of almost breaking to really look dynamic enough, and in motion, there are some cheats possible. But yeah, wow. The rigged one is pretty stellar, but the non-rigged ones are still pretty impressive. Again, your model is so dope. If we had any kind of pipeline involving maya, I would be begging you to contribute to Macross Aria. We're all 3ds Max, though (and anything that can port to Max without some sort of 3rd party solution). Still... do you have any interest?

Just an update: we have all the major characters' lines in, the cast sounds great! We could still use a few more artists, though.

You want that fold effect in 2d or 3d space? Basically, there's no standardized fold in Frontier. We collected examples of folds from several episodes for Macross Aria, and discovered that each one was somewhat different. If you're doing everything in premiere and AE, I would suggest using a combination of solids with feathered circular masks, lot's of glow effects, and the "add" transfer mode. The key is really making sure that the ship passing through the fold is enveloped in blinding as it passes through the disc. Oh yeah, and some particle effects for good measure.

Just an update... We are currently looking for 1 or 2 more modelers, with either mechanical experience, or interior design experience.

Or real life stuff took priority. No shame in that. Well, it's a shame that we haven't seen more cool stuff from him, but, that's really OUR problem, not his.

Sure I'm curious about the original characters, their fate, etc, but sometimes it's best to just let things be open-ended. I wouldn't mind if an all new story crossed paths with the original story in some way, but I'm fine with never knowing, also. That's my two cents worth. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing something set right before Macross Plus, though, it wouldn't need to involve any of those characters, as their arcs are perfect within Plus.
