Yeah it's pretty good, I tend to overdo it sometimes, nice to know it helped. Here is my question which may be quite newbish knowing me. I know what HOTAS stands for (Hands on Throttle and Stick) but for what exactly is it used? This recent talk about cockpit operations made me think of that, I assume it is related.

We all have trouble with M7 on the inside. After all we have speakers on Valkyries but sound can't exist in the vacuum of space, it's outrageous, I have to do something about it! But... there is nothing I can do, so I guess I just have to develop some suspended disbelief.

Hmm, I agree Mr March I like that idea, and it makes a lot of sense really. If so perhaps the reason we see a glow is because it's the same amount of power going into the knife that goes into the armor. The blade then could be even stronger than the armor of a valkyrie.

Well it is just an idea, he's not really saying that is what he thinks will happen, just an idea of what he thinks it could be. I myself don't have much for a theory yet.

Waiting patiently for raw. Until then I will say I did like Macross Zero, but it seems a little too mystical at times, not that that is a problem though. It could be worse *coughsongenergycough*. I can see why some people might not like Zero but I think the plot makes more sense that Macross 7, but that is just me. Mac7 really isn't my kind of show in the end (but I will still probably get around to watching it all just so I can say I've seen it).

I think I see where you are coming from wolfx. I'm no mod of course, but I'd like to give an opinion since I was there and saw the image. I believe the point the mods and such are trying to get across is we must understand that while some people, or some cultures may find something such as that to be perfectly normal or ok, there are some whether it be an individual or a culture that will find something like that offensive or wrong. I'm not really speaking for myself though, I'm looking at the bigger picture. I am a born and raised American, but I in fact had no problem with the image at all, but I can see why some people might. My actual comment on the image itself was just a light hearted and joking "Ewwww " which didn't really mean anything, it was just what popped into my head first. It didn't disgust me at all, hence the emoticon used to show I was joking. Thing is though, that is just my opinion. There were posts in there of people saying they thought the image was wrong and that is just their belief. So in light of that, it's probably best to keep away from things even some people might not like. As for my opinion on what the image was actually supposed to be showing, well I thought of it a couple ways before I really decided what it was supposed to be showing. In the end I saw it as being designed for comedic purposes and that took out anything that might have made in disturbing to me. However I can see why people might think it was some disturbing shot of Mikhail doing something wrong as he is also shown with the blood on him, the first thing that makes one think of isn't always innocent. However I can also see how it is simply showing Klan reaching puberty and Mikhail was just in the wrong place at the wrong time (or something to that effect).

Perhaps she'll do a duet with Basara who is only there because he got kicked off of City 7 due to his hair being too big.

I once gave an explanation on how Thermonuclear reaction engines would work in theory, but it was pretty lengthy, also the compendium has its own explanation which indicates more than just nuclear fusion is going on in the engines. Basically from what I have to go on, the nuclear engines use nuclear fusion (most likely a form of fusion rather than fission, safer and better energy, it is the 'future' after all) to heat up an inert gas into a plasma form to create thrust. In atmosphere, the gas being heated up is just the air collected in the engine from the intakes, but it space the valkyrie uses a supply of an on board gas, most likely hydrogen. This is the same concept for future nuclear rockets that may be used to go to Mars, with nuclear reactors heating up hydrogen to plasma which becomes the exhaust. Vernier Thrusters are just smaller versions of the Reaction Control System thrusters (or RCS thrusters for short), what the fighter uses to turn and control its attitude in space, whereas in an atmosphere is using it's wings and stabilizers to manipulate air flow across them to turn. Since there is no air in space it turns with RCS and vernier thrusters, but the main propulsion is always from the Thermonuclear reaction engines, its just a difference of where the gas being heated is coming from.

Why modify, just don't transform it if you don't want that.

The VF-27 can't repel any beam cannon, remember that she didn't actually hit him with her cannon, she hit an asteroid that Brera got behind making her think she hit him which was why she let her guard down. He was just to maneuverable for her, otherwise she could have done as much damage as Alto did.

I imagine the ECA strengthens the armor similarly to come armor concepts for human soldiers in the future, where the armor itself is light weight and flexible but when hit by a bullet the molecules realign and make it hard as metal. Current research is just looking into this I don't believe there are any prototypes in existance (unless they are secret). I once saw something where a scientist was showing a material they made that has the consistency of pudding or yogurt, but when a magnetic field was applied it got thicker and had the consistency of peanut butter. So I see the ECA as doing this, that surplus power is probably making the armor more dense and harder to be penetrated.

Here is something to think about, instead of a second season, after 25 episodes we may see things like that did with Mac7. I.E. an OVA follow up or extra episodes and I certainly won't discount the possibilities of a Macross Frontier movie.

Well Klan doesn't really fly a fighter, she flies a suit so the big beam cannon works for her. As for the VF-25 vs. VF-27, based my my observations it is clear the two were designed for different mission parameters. However if you must compare them directly despite their uses for different things (as in a dogfight between Alto and Brera which we will see again no doubt) then the way I see it, as planes the 27 and 25 seem about the same, the VF-27 just has more toys. To elaborate: As a plane, from an engineering standpoint it seems the VF-27 and the VF-25 are nearly identical, the 27 having more maneuverability and acceleration while the 25 has more speed. In other words if the 2 were to have a straight line race, the 27 would get ahead of the 25 at the beginning, but the 25 would be able to catch up because it can gain a faster speed but just doesn't accelerate as fast. This seems evident as Brera couldn't seem to shake Alto at all (which in truth shouldn't have been a program if you regard the physics of space such as lack of inertia or friction of air resistance, but lets not get into that). So in my opinion, looking at the two as just planes they are roughly equal with each having slight differences based on how they are designed to be used. Now of course the 27 has some more high tech equipment which gives it a bit of an advantage. However as it seems to be designed to do hit and run tactics with the more maneuverability, acceleration, and big honking space gun, it seems not at its best against other fighters, especially ones designed for dogfighting such as the 25. Just because the 25 has less advanced gadgets doesn't mean it isn't as good, those gadgets seem to be made for the type of hit and run anti-ship stuff that seems to be the design of the 27. If you were to give the 25 a fold booster (internal or not, I think the internal ones are prototype probably), a virtual cockpit program, and a big honking space gun like that it could probably do the same stuff (hmm, fast pack idea there). It seems to be the VF-27 is the evolution of valkyries like the VF-19 and the VF-22, designed for special missions where any old plane just won't cut it, whereas the VF-25 is the evolution of your basic all purpose fighters like the VF-1, VF-11, and the VF-171, where you can equip a certain type of Fast pack depending on what you need it to do. If I needed to send in someone to take out an enemy target without a large battle I'd use the 27, but if I need to fight a swarm of enemy fighters I'd rather have the 25.

I think 26 was a number from an official source, i.e. official number. I don't have a clue what source though.. I heard it here where it was said to be official. Don't get me wrong, I'd love an extra season but I will be fine as long as there is at least the 25 or 26 they have said so far. Any less and it seems too short.

I don't even believe there is a proposed season 2 for Frontier... as much as we would all love it, it is still just 25 or 26 episodes as far as I know.

I'm listening to the OST 1 now, I'm only on the second song but it rocks so far! I love the intro (Frontier 2059). The best part is half of this we haven't heard before.

Actually by the numbers a VF-25 is supposed to be relatively larger than a VF-1. Either Klan is really tall or the animators just can't decide whether they are VF sized or less.

I'd suggest freeze framing parts of episodes where it transforms. Truthfully the best shot is from ep.1 when Ozma's armored VF-25 transforms from Gerwalk to Battroid. Back when I first saw the deculture edition I did this (me being the naturally curious engineer and had to figure it out) and got a pretty good idea of it right away, now I know exactly how it works (though there may be small details I'm missing). I'll know definitely when the DX toy and the models come out later on of course.

I assumed it was Leon that hacked and took down the website, we know he has been halting Ranka's progress and that he is 'interested' in her. After all he made sure she didn't win Miss Macross, he stopped her TV spot, and now the website bit.
