  1. So I happened to be looking into stuff related to the Jenius family anyway and this actually depends on the ending to the game Macross M3. Apparently there is a 'good' and 'bad' ending based on player choices. So assuming the good ending is one most would consider canonical (which of course means nothing because this is Macross), she mostly likely retired right after the game and just went on to live a normal life.
  2. Magic... Or whatever they are calling their made up particle physics in each show. I don't follow too many but I know some literally invented fake physics to excuse certain things.
  3. It's important to recognize what Seto means by amount of time engines can deliver maximum thrust though. In space they do not have to constantly run the engines, they only need bursts of thrusts to change their vectors or accelerate and decelerate, and not always at max power. So a VF-1 could operate longer in space if the pilot is careful. Of course in a battle that can be difficult sometimes. Recall in episode 6 of Macross Delta Hayate in a VF-31J with super parts actually did run out of fuel because he wasn't being efficient or paying attention, but others were still doing alright.
  4. Yeah after this conversation I remembered I used BiginJapan to get the Hayate supers and they had the ghost set for preorder (13k yen before shipping but I expected some upcharge) so I went ahead and used them again.
  5. Thanks @MKT and @PsYcHoDyNaMiX. I think I'd done this before cause I got the AX supers for Hayate but just totally blanked on how I went about it. I think I can figure it out now though.
  6. Well that answers the first part... Now I just gotta figure out where to order it. I couldn't find it on my phone following links from the Tamashii site. I'll try to look again on PC later.
  7. So I'm having some trouble understanding this cause I don't often buy the Tamashi exclusives that don't appear on the usual sites. If I want to get the super ghost set, and I missed the original order time in November, is this saying I can order it again in February or that I can order it now until February? And for either case where and how, cause I certainly can't find it on any of the associated sites referenced on the Tamashi page for the product (if it's not available for order yet that makes sense but I want to be sure).
  8. There's really nothing to worry about. They are a busy company. RightStuf has been putting out anime sets consistently since that announcement and Crunchyroll buying them. It's actually rather common for anime distributors to not be super transparent. There's really nothing to tell us except when the final release date is and that likely will be shortly before that date anyway. We know it's being worked on, the official sub of Macross 7 episode 1 has been played at conventions already. They are a busy company doing more than just Macross stuff, sometimes we just gotta trust things are moving.
  9. While it's technically a Frontier movie, FB7 is basically a Macross 7 clip show being watched (on the beauty of VHS) by the Frontier cast.
  10. I think the Sv-303 is probably not that powerful really. It's good some built in advantages. Being unmanned makes it able to do a lot of things manned systems can't even with the ISC (which it doesn't need, so energy savings) and it clearly has some type of fold wave system installed to interact that is being boosted by the Siren system. We don't know if it's the proper fold wave system the Durandal uses (which doesn't actually require a musical helper to resonate with super dimension space if I recall) or a budget version like Xaos uses (which does need extra help, hence Walkure in part) but the tech regardless improves capability. More importantly... They were fighting Xaos and Windermere who are... Kinda bad at this... We never saw Max having trouble with them cause he's like, ya know, good. Yeah he has a better VF but it's Max he could do this with less. I think the Sv-303 is one of the most advanced Ghost systems to date maybe, but not Uber powered VF-24 level stuff probably.
  11. Nah they're busy with lots of stuff. Macross isn't the only thing they are working on and they didn't promise it this year. I don't expect the sets before next summer at the earliest personally but I'll be glad if it is sooner. It's easy to think things should move faster but really they gave a lot of info up front. There's not much to keep us updated on except when they are releasing, and they probably haven't decided or done the work needed to confirm when the right release window is for them. Aside maybe Delta which had subs already they are doing a lot of work to bring these shows to the west. I think it's perfectly natural to take some time. There is some chance the Crunchyroll acquisition of RightStuf may have affected things too but I don't really think that's worth worrying about. I think it'll get here, just takes some time. We've waited this long already anyway lol.
  12. There isn't a given reason for the crash but orbital dynamics can give us a guess. We know the ship was damaged so likely it's sublight engines were dead already. It likely then defolded into an unstable orbit and gravity did the rest. I'd bet the crew was already dead and the ship has emergency folded right out from a battle with Zentradi.
  13. I talk to March on Discord a lot lately. He's in the Macross Fan Central discord which is an offshoot of the Facebook page but I never interacted on the Facebook page before joining that so that didn't seem to matter lol. I thought he was also in the discord for SDCon but that one isn't as active once the con passes and I don't see him there but I didn't look close.
  14. They do wear holographic suits but they are more advanced than Sheryl's (seen only properly in Frontier episode 1 and kinda just ignored later as if it has an internal projector). Walkure's suits though are more.... Flattering.... Cause they aren't really suits but actually a form of gel application onto their body that covers their skin and the only real clothing they wear are their underwear and gas jet clusters used for their flying maneuvers. You see them applying these "suits" in a late episode of the show and in a few short movie scenes in which they literally rub them on. When not active and projecting they leave very little to the imagination. They were working on early construction of the SDF-2, a duplicate of the Macross by the time of Kamjin's final attack on Macross City in the last episode. I don't know if it was planned before Space War 1 but it might have been. It was just before that attack they'd decided to retrofit it into the Megaroad 1, which of course was completed later.
  15. As they like to say these days, "I'm just asking questions." Lol That is to say, that's how I read it when you posed the hypothesis that charlie seems to be confusing for you stating as a fact.
  16. Lady M didn't exist in Frontier. Entirely a creation of Delta. I don't think they implied she was actually retroactively involved in anything and if they did it's ignorable cause it really wasn't a thing during Frontier at all yet.
  17. I want to revisit the idea it's Dr. Gadget M. Chiba dressing in drag. Think it was Seto's idea, but imagine..
  18. I don't think anyone is saying Epsilon is a saintly group here. But we have to keep in mind that just cause one group does bad things doesn't mean the other is righteous. Actually, I don't think any of us were even discussing Epsilon at all. It was you that kept bringing them up as a sort of "what about..." move. Like yeah they did bad stuff but not all their clients were without justifiable reasons. They all chose to do something bad but their intentions were either misguided or understandable. They'd still get convicted by a court if they lived. But so would Lady M if she actually faces repercussions for her actions. That's all we're saying. She's not a good person just because she's in charge of the heroes. We don't actually know why she has such a stranglehold on the NUNG. We just kinda assume she means well but it's certainly not a popular idea to the masses. People don't like oligarchs secretly controlling them without explanation.
  19. Yeah... Lady M is no saint no matter what their real identity is or their connection. There is a lot of designated hero leader stuff going on. That being said while Seto it's entirely correct that Cromwell's motivations are reasonable... He does basically start committing terrorists acts and plans to scalp the surface of an inhabited planet just to destroy one ship (and like, he could just reposition Astrea to avoid that). He's not a designated villain by any means cause he's causing harm to people. His motivations and his failure to achieve his goals in less destructive ways through NUNG law basically lead him to drastic measures. Is he wrong to take up arms? Probably. Should people think about why he did it and not just brush him off as crazy? Yes they should. Will they? Probably not, and that might be the most realistic outcome. It is noteworthy the movie shows he cares about his subordinates though. So once again I feel like Kawamori is trying to show us Cromwell is not the worst but he leaves it up to viewers to decide who is right and wrong while still having the movie give the win to the heroes with no indication any change will result from this.
  20. No need to get upset because other people have different opinions on the movie. This is a discussion forum, and we are discussing. Well I wasn't until now but I have bought and watched it. Admittedly my thoughts are closer to Seto and Kaj. I'm typically less harsh on Delta but that's cause I am a mellow guy. Doesn't mean I don't have criticisms, I'm a bit of a story writer myself (insert Osborne meme here) and Delta absolutely earns it's criticisms. The Sv-303 is... Alright. I was surprised it was unmanned and there was multiples actually. I thought it was going to be some ace fighter. I actually haven't been as into the design since it was revealed. I'd comment on specs but we have no power there lol. Visually the movie was gorgeous at least. The editing could have used work but everything looked really pretty when you had time to enjoy a shot. I actually really liked the imagery of Battle Astrea in attack mode perched next to the ground, showing off the impressive scale of the New Macross Class battle carriers. Try as he might to make the still as yet unnamed class the Elysian and Gigasian belong to look good, Max definitely traded down. And yeah I'm a huge Max fanboy so I enjoyed him being here. Exsedol too honestly. Actually I just like he stuck with Max. They give hints they have a close friendship throughout Macross 7 and I kinda feel it here. Admittedly Max tends to lose friends in his life (Kakizaki died, Hikaru vanishes, I'm not convinced he and Milia are still married) but weirdly the giant database guy became one of his closest friends almost. The plot... It's a Delta plot alright lol. It's not the worst but it does feel like it tried a bit too hard and just led to a lot of head scratching. I was happy before watching anything that Seto have such a good review of Labyrinth of Time though cause that's the thing I was most concerned about since Frontier is very important to me and I 100% agree that did everything I could have hoped for in a 15 minute short. It also truly felt like Frontier, and I worried it would feel like Frontier by way of Delta writing style. I don't know if the writing teams were actually different but LoT felt like the people that did Frontier came back to do this. I was happy.
  21. It's true... a structural frame in something I once worked on got the official acronym WTF. I can't say much but the Program Office snickered a lot that they were able to get away with that. That said almost no one actually used the acronym in the end.
  22. I wasn't aware of a tally. I'm having trouble parsing some of the unknowns in my part there (what's the 7?) If it helps though I saw Plus, Frontier 1, and Frontier 2 all in Lancaster, CA. Same theater even which was a Cinemark if that matters.
  23. This is basically the same experience I had. Better sound but also the annoying bass vibrations from adjacent theater. Weird, that. But yeah I was happy overall, and I look forward to what's next. I can see them doing both Delta movies in this same way perhaps, which is really only good in that I can finally see the second if that happens.
