  1. They do put up some good Mac F toys, but for some freaking reason they determine their production based on the demand of their local market instead of the whole market. Their marketing guys should be fired (and probably shot). I have written to HLJ for this matter. They replied saying that they could not do much as the production are so limited and restricted. Yet, you keep hearing that the brick and mortar shops in Jap have a bundle to offer. Personally, I'm still wondering if Bandai did it on purpose to control the popularity of Macross overseas. After all, when they sell Gundam, they take the whole profit, while selling Macross, they may need to share some with Big West.
  2. NY not only have the VF-171 pre-order, they seem to have stock for VF-171EX too! I don't know if it is because of their exorbitant pricing that make them having stock (no one buy from them?) or Bandai only releasing stock to those who does not sell below their RRP (thus won't hurt/affect their profit margin)
  3. How do you get them through HLJ? Couldn't even see them listing on the site
  4. Bandai VF-25 transformable model looks great. Hopefully it'll be the same for this one. 1/72 VF-1 is indeed small.
  5. It's actually great they made their own 3D. The two-seater are more beautiful than the original line art. They re-do the cockpit of the two-seater and make it look more streamline than just a bulge from the original design.
  6. True! The F-14++ and the semi-transformable F-14 test bed looks cool as well.
  7. I'm surprised they even included a few VF-3000 photos. This book is great, the only to be picky about is that the VF-0 variations are not as much as the other. For example, you have VF-19B/D, the early warning, recon models in VF-19 Master File.
  8. I took the advantage of the latest HLJ sale and got my VF-19S. After comparing both 19S and my YF-19, I'm convinced that Yamato should go for YF-19 version 2 run. May be called it VF-19A instead and make the scheme below, I'm sure there'll be lots of interest.
  9. The price is getting crazier with each new product launch. I don't thinks it's the demand not there, but more of the manufacturers wanting to recoup the investment asap and/or they think that regardless of any price they put, people will still buy them heaps. One can call them greedy, but it's a free market...
  10. It seems that only the online stores are hit with this limitation. May be Bandai afraid Macross will out sell Gundam or become very well known in overseas market if the produce it more? After all, Bandai owns full right on Gundam and it takes them a lot of effort to make Gundam well known and accepted by many cultures and countries.
  11. I'm the few that does not like it I believe. The old page look more organized and easier to filter and search. And now they asked for username to log in where I only use my email all the times and never actually had a username. Now they don't recognize my email address! It also seem that without logging in, you can't do anything else except for the main page.
  12. The 1/60 VF-25 version 2. This is by far the most playable and displayable toy.
  13. Me too. Hopefully Bandai is convinced enough to consider VF-171 now
  14. Personally I prefer VF-171 over VF-17. Besides, the size of the VF-17 is kind of hard to justify for the asking price. Hopefully, Bandai could make VF-171 at a lower price point like what it did for the VF-25 DX2. Though it is just very wishful hope.
  15. Just got mine today. I have to say Bandai up the ante with this one. Overall shape is very close to the line art, especially viewing from the side; where most Yamato products look much thicker. Good second seat gimmick and the knife can actually be towed in the shield. My only gripe is the shape of the canopy. Viewing from the side the upper area look like a flat line rather than a continuous curve. While Bandai has done an excellent job in design, I can't say for the manufacturing. The plastic look cheap (it's semis gloss rather than gloss) compared to the recent Yamato products. The paint application is less than satisfactory. Put Yamato 1/60 VF-1 side by side and you know what I'm talking. But for the price, you get a great design toy, stand with various adapter for different mode, different hands and an Alto in flight suite (with its own stand as well). I say this one is pretty reasonably priced where Yamato is pushing the boundary of many wallets. Despite some shortcomings, this is still one heck of a great toy. Yes, toy, you can play it without too much worry of breaking it. I'd say it worth every dollar you spent on it. With this, I hope Yamato would consider more on their price tag. And lastly, It just occurred to me that the VF-25 look very close to Su-30MK fighter in real world
  16. Anyone see this onTsim Sha Tsui (Hong Kong) area?
  17. Depend on its price. Lately, the price has increased a lot compared to the early release (say 1/48 VF-1 era). Some may say the technology is better in making the toys that warrant the price hike. But they also sell greater number these days. So, it really depends on the price.
  18. Just got mine today. Overall shape looks good, but Hasegawa seems to start skimping on details. If you compare this one with VF-1 and VF-0, you'll know what I mean; especially the pilot figure and the seat.
  19. Should have done this in the first place (then I don't have to wait this long)
  20. With Bandai playing catch up, the wallet is going to get hurt anyway Can't deny they are getting better and Bandai has longer reputation in playability, though Yamato pays more attention to accuracy.
  21. Any prototype pic? Yamato is way too secretive about their coming release. It's been a month or more after the first news. Bandai has shown the production V2 VF-25 and on sale in Oct. Yammie makes us wait too long.
  22. Yup, just place mine at HLJ HLJ
  23. It looks more like the one in VF-25 Master Files than the CG. I'm not complaining. This is the best I could hope for the V.1 is totally crapped. Hopefully they have better built quality and playability.
