  1. Thanks for the tip. I never realised that Viagra could be administered to toys as a cure for laser erection problems.
  2. I haven't seen any pics showing the hip kibble can be removed or has an optional attachment point on the legs. I think that was just speculation. The only pictures I've seen with the kibble on the legs are on the earliest prototype, when the crown was showen in the line art as well. But I would like that to be the case. I guess we will know soon enough - HLJ has my MP-03 and MP-04 order in their processing department so it should arrive here early next week. I imagine that the final colors are as we now see them on the box.
  3. There is some news and more shots of upcoming Masterpieces Starscream and Convoy in the latest issue of Figure Oh! As well as news about the S.T.A.R.S. club. Information can be found on F2F: Including: The details of a Transformers S.T.A.R.S club is also reported, recently rumored to carry exclusive anime color MP-03 or MP-04 with roller, none of those are true. The article said that for those who purchased (the regular) MP-03 and MP-04, you are eligible to receive a TF S.T.A.R.S fan club membership card, with your name printed on it by sending in the robot points on both packages. Although the ID card is a sort of reissue from the old TF S.T.A.R.S fan club back in 80s, the fan club is no longer in operation, thus whatever special exclusives for members in the club at that time will not be valid as well. This campaign is valid in Japan only however FantoFan would be able to help those who ordered both items from us and are interested to obtain the card to apply for it. For Aussie fans interested in MP-03 I recieved an offer of US$101 including EMS shipping from Hong Kong. Thats around AU$130 and about the best I have seen so far. My pre-order currently sits with HLJ.com for about AU$140 with SAL shipping. If anyone knows of a group buy offer in Aus PM me will ya?
  4. Your description reminds me of this: http://toychest.diamondcomics.com/toys/07_...intron_dept.htm Although she doesn't have the holes quite where you mentioned or long yellow blonde hair.

  7. I already have a green set but preferred that blue color (or better yet; dark grey). A repaint will be sloppy I think.
  8. Thanks for the replys. Shame. I'll cancel the order.
  9. Heyas, I was looking at the Yamato '1/48 Valkyrie Super Pack Parts Set' on HLJ and it shows a picture of the pieces in a dark blue color. The set I have a a dark green? So did they cange the color or ...? Link: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00021 If they are blue now I might just get a new set, I don't like the green much. Thanks for any assistance.
  10. Ghadrack, I like the way you think. Have you seen Izo? It is the only one of Takashi Miike's films that I haven't liked. When I saw the heading of this thread it was the first thing that came to mind. Chan-wook Park, Takashi Miike and Gaspar Noe are the current independent movie world's darlings. And rightfully so. Chan-wook Park's 'Oldboy' is absurd but sheer class all the way. Grand Prix winner at Cannes. His others are also worth the effort of finding. If you like intelligent cinema that forces you to think for yourself instead of simply giving you the conclusion of the story at the end then Asian cinema has much to offer. Most of Hollywood just bores me to tears. They can't create anything stimulating by using market driven formulas, it's basically a contradiction.
  11. Itchi the Killer is about relationships and how we come to depend upon or manipulate others for our own fullfilment. Battle Royale is about the competitive society that is Japanese youth and how the parents control their youth into being competitive. Both films use the extreme to get their message across. My opinion anyway. I have not seen the others.
  12. That looks more than a little familiar...
  13. You're almost there Dok. It's nice - very convincing. I think it is being let down by the harsh base metal specular value - its too strong. The other thing that caught my eye straight away is the apparent stretching on the nose cone seam where the radar would be. Will look better when you texture the gunpod too
  14. Yep - I used a similar approach: adjusting the levels of my color maps to create the specular. My color maps already had a light cloud-like filter on them to give the appearance of weathering.
  15. Yes. To me, aesthetically, it looks fine. I always struggled to get the look of my Valkyrie correct and was never really happy with it - in the end I went with what I thought looked best. You would need to consult someone on these boards with a better understanding of aviation than me as to weather the material's shyniness and specularity are correct. I found some modern fighters that were shiny and some that were matte so I figured that gave me license to do whatever I wanted. Your material looks like it matches the f14 references posted above by 'mighty gorgon' which is what I would be aiming for.
  16. That's coming along nicely Dok. The first thing that jumps out at me though is the specularity of the vents in the chest area - I think it would look better if it matched the black cockpit material. The area just above those vents (2 or 3 panel sections) looks blotchy to me - it might just be that there is too much contrast in that area - the back chest section looks much better by comparison. I know you didn't ask fo any comments on the compositing, but if you're interested, the cockpit needs a reflection map and a blue/green light under the plane would settle it into the image more given that alot of light would be bounced back up to the underside from the water. A slight blur on the edges helps to remove that tell-tale CG sharpness too. Nice vapor trail too.

As 'Macross 2' is concidered "alternative universe" etc by the MacrossWorld community it might be an idea to make it an easter-egg in the same way that an Industrial Light and Magic employee managed to slip one of his sneakers into a shot in 'Star Wars: Return of the Jedi' Death Star assault scenes. Kinda like a 'Where's Waldo?'
