  1. Wonderfest is in three weeks so hopefully we might see more from Beagle then, but probably not untill closer to mid-year. I don't suppose anyone knows the actual release date for the Megahouse? All I know is that it's this month sometime... I have high hopes
  2. HLJ's smallest box is about AU$6 and a Revoltech will fit in there easily. HLJ accept credit cards, PayPal, money order or cashier's cheque. F2F have some good deals too. They prefer PayPal. Empire Toys are worse then Transfigure Toys.
  3. Have Beagle done any types of transforming mecha before? I only vaguely know them for a few (rather nice) PVC models.
  4. Yeah, around the shin area downwards it looks too small. Tho in the bike pic it looks fine. At 20cm tall I don't expect it to be cheap either, hopefully in the $80-100 range. And hopefully less due to the healthy competition.
  5. The Beagle looks fantastic. I'm thinking I will still keep my MH pre-orders tho. The only thing that bugs me about the Beagle is that the legs look kinda skinny giving it a top-heavy look.
  6. Then you are applying the wrong criteria. I found them to be exceptional pieces of engineering and an amazing homage to the origional G1 characters they represent (largely). It's because the BIN/Alt?KP line has officially ended that I find myself returning to Macross again. Masterpiece (and selected orters) is all that interest me as far as TFs go now.
  7. The text next to the Masterpiece Grimlock suggests that the Gundam 00 designer is involved in the creation of MP Grimlock, kinda like Kawamori was for MP Starscream. The USA Hasbro release was a Walmart exclusive - just about all Transformers are about half price compared to down here. Here it was a TRU exclusive... yeah. I havent seen any pics with the "properly coloured wing transforming/joining system", if by that you mean the black hinges. There are a few color variations floating around, but all I have seen have the black hinges and scorch marks.
  8. Sounds a bit like this one. But it hasn't been released yet. They are from the same group as the afore mentioned Starscream add-on parts.
  9. Do you have a link for Yellow Belmont's Blowsperiour? (sp?) I don't think I've seen it Megahouse have basically sacrificed the bikes scale for a superiour ride armour look. I think the bike mode looks ok with the rider standing over it, so the sacrifice is worth it to me. If the (tbc) Beagle looks good in bike mode then I will order that over the CMs which I don't think looks good in any mode. Those cad drawings on HLJ look more like the CMs/Toynami proportions.
  10. What's wrong with Amazon.jp? HLJ.com are fine as well but arn't accepting new orders untill March. Fantofan.jp might also still be taking orders - you need to email him to find out tho.
  11. This is the movie that really got me into Kenji Kawai's work. The opening theme "Log In/Off" starts around the 7 minute mark. Avalon Intro Mmmm... Polish Opera
  12. try this .mkv format. 'Paprika' and 'MindGame' were other good anime movies I liked. 'Paprika' is a kinda cute sci-fi adventure. 'MindGame' is very surreal and deviates from the anime style, but makes you think. I will try to watch 'Pale Cocoon' this weekend.
  13. "The Place Promised In Our Early Days" has a heavier feel and was more abstract - I could never really relate to the lead characters or their situation. It was an interesting story, but it just didn't really grip me. "The Girl Who Lept Through Time" has a simpler story although it can get confusing a few times - it is much more light-hearted than TPPIOED. I found it more involving and profound however. As a story it just works much better imo.
  14. Try "The Girl Who Lept Through Time". (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo) - I liked it anyway. There are a couple of Ghibli ones like that too, but they bored me senseless.
  15. There's lineart for them about 3/4 of the way down this page.
  16. I don't think it's too much to hope for a developed story line. Afterall Black Arachnia is in there as a spider so maybe... As for some comparisons to Justice League: Optimus Prime - Superman moralistic heavy-hitter Prowl - Batman stealth mystery man Bumblebee - Flash annoying youngster Ratchet - J'onn J'onzz ancient vetran Wonderwoman - Arcee ? Hawkgirl - Black Arachnia ? Who are currently heroes serving the city. I liked the triple change head for Blitzwing, but not the choice of accent. Then again with a name like Blitzwing
  17. I liked the start but halfway through I was getting bored. I feel the same way about it currently that I did when I first started watching Beast Wars so I will give it the benefit of waiting to see how it plays out. I was hoping that it would have more of the maturity of the Justice League series but it seems focused on a younger audience (no suprises). So far I haven't liked any of the characters enough to consider buying any of the toys. Megatron and Starscream were in fine form tho, I liked Ratchet too. SPOILER - select text. The premise of capturing Megatron for experimentation purposes is getting a bit old (Dreamwave, 2997 Movie)
  18. That would be the Leader class toy then. This is the first vid I came across on YouTube and it looks good for transformation information from vehicle to robot - I guess you will basically have to reverse it to get him into truck mode. From about 3:20 onwards. edit: Actually is better. .
  19. Voyager or Leader class? I don't own either but YouTube would be the first place I would try looking. His line art for Animated has surfaced. .

    Shin VS Nora

I remember the feathers from the promo pics for Macross Zero as well. I think cotton makes for better clouds tho if that is what you are aiming for. I got the VF-0A and SV-51 (as well as YF-19) for Christmas this year too Nice display, coffee table and ankles.
  21. The new mold for UM that isn't a repaint is for Animated, not Classics. Sorry about that - serves me right for double-checking against Wikipedia
  22. Jazz was mentioned as one of the characters that Hasbro want to include but nothing beyond that. Maybe you're thinking of the concept line art for Animated Jazz. The only concept pics for Classics 2 (now Universe) I remember seeing are Sunstreaker, Sideswipe and Octane. There was Cosmos as well but he's been canned. Prowl and a new mold for Ultra Magnus have been confirmed.
  23. My return to the TF collecting was because of BT-01. A brilliant redefinition of the G1 charactrers, although that line as well as Alternators has had it's ups and downs. I also started collecting the MP series and have been happy with it so far. So kudos and props to HasTak for them. I think Cybertron gave us some good toys but the only ones I have on display are the legends figures because that's all I need to capture those characters - my few supreme and leader calss figures are now owned by my mate's children as I'm a firm believer that toys are to be played with, not stored MISB - my prerogative. I thought that the Classics line were good and had character, but I never saw a reason to collect it myself. Some of the 6" Titanium line looked good too. The only movie toy I have is BB08 because it is brilliant - an actual advancement in terms of use of the automorph gimmik - difinative proof that Hasbro can deliver when given an appropriate timeframe to develop a toy. It is however the Yamato Macross stuff that almost never gets removed from my modest display areas. My only real disappointment with that line is that it is mostly limited to the Valkyries. BTW - is there a term for toys that are aimed at adult collectors such as Binaltechs, Masterpieces and Yamato $200+ Fragile series? I always feel like a regressive geek referring to them as "toys"
  24. It's a kinda tough choice but MH is winning out for me so far despite the small wheels, there is too much about CM's in armour mode that I don't like as much. I suppose there is still no news of Beagle's 1/10 entry? Even a release date? It would be a hard kick if it turns out to be superiour to the other three.
