  1. Thanks! I tried it that way and it seems to be balancing nicely. Looks pretty good too since I was able to get the nose pointing up further than I had it the other way.
  2. Has anybody tried putting the VF-27 on the Flightpose (formerly LaF toys) stand with the gun mounted? I set mine up last night and have it balanced okay, but I'm nervous because the front rod of the stand is holding up the nose by the little canard fin thing since the gun was in the way. I know those fins are a bit fragile after seeing one break off in a video review. Anybody have better ideas for putting this on the stand? It's sorta okay for now since the toy is back heavy and not too much weight is on the fin, but I'd still like to find a better arrangement.
  3. The VF-4 is already up on Ebay for 40 bucks.
  4. I just ordered a box about 20 minutes ago. Can't wait to see what it contains!
  5. I just checked the boxes for my VF-27 and VF-25S Full Armor, and they don't say 1/60 scale anywhere on them. That said, your math is right and they're the right size relative to the 1/60 Yamato valks I have.
  6. Just got an email from the nice folks at Flightpose.com. They found that they'd miscalculated shipping and overcharged me so they refunded me the difference. I would have never noticed on my own.
  7. The only problem I've had transforming my valks was when I dropped my VF-0S and popped off a tail fin. Fortunately it popped back on. Currently 3 of my valks are in Battroid and none of them are the large scale Yamato or Bandai ones (does the 1/55 Chunky Monkey count?) all the rest are in Fighter mode. Aside from the ol' 1/55 VF-1, the easiest transformation of any I have is the VF-27. It's a magenta masterpiece. Everything fits where it is supposed to go, nothing feels loose or like it would break. I wish they were all like that.
  8. Oh sweet. I checked the LaF site a couple of days ago 'cause I got the DX VF-27, but I was hesitant to buy from them with the big "we're shutting down our web store" message. New stands ordered!
  9. I just got my DX VF-27 in the mail. Wow. I'm absolutely elated. This is clearly the best built, easiest to transform and most posable Valkyrie I own. It's amazing how the VF-25 and VF-27 share the same basic transformation idea, yet can feel so completely different. I wasn't frustrated at all by the VF-27 and everything just made sense.
  10. There are so many awesome Valkyries that they could include in additional series. Along with the ones you've mentioned, I would love to see the VF-4, VE-1 and VT-1, YF-19 and YF-21 with fold boosters, VF-0A and VF-0S with ghost boosters, VF-2SS with super parts, and maybe even the VF-5000. That's almost enough for a series 4 right there.
  11. After one box of Vol.1, two boxes of Vol.2 and 3 opened ones on ebay, I am still missing six regular ones and all of the secret ones. VF-1S Max VF-25F Tornado YF-19 VF-19F Commander VF-19F Mass Production VF-19 Kai Pretty annoying that I can't find a YF-19, since it is my favorite. Also wouldn't mind the VF-1S Max and VF-25F Tornado. Kinda indifferent about the M7 ones I'm missing. If anybody has spares of the ones I'm missing, especially the YF-19, I'm willing to buy.
  12. Answering just Graham's Yamato question: 1/72 = 0 pcs. 1/60 = 2 pcs. 1/48 = 1 pcs. 13. Currently waiting on a couple of individual valks from the 1st and 2nd Macross Fighter Collections. VF-0S, VF-1J MFJ and VF-19S. I have about 27 uniques and am just filling out a few more of my favorites for my collection.
  14. I picked up a box of the first series when they came out. Managed to get no duplicates. My box had: VF-0B, VF-0D, VF-0A, VF-1A Kakizaki, VF-1J Hikaru, VF-1J Max, VF-1J Miria, VF-19P (bleh), VF-25G, VF-25F and VF2ss Conveniently, the second set comes out on my payday!
  15. Got my full armor VF-25S today. This is my first VF-25 (I have 3 different Yamato valks, and some various others). No QC issues that I can see. Transformed it from fighter to battroid and back with no armor before I went to work. When I got home I spent the most frustrating hour with it that I ever have with a transforming valk. It really feels like the team that made the old chunky monkey VF-1 toys tried their hand at a VF-25. I eventually managed to get the armor on, starting in battroid and transforming it to fighter. Parts popped off, one of the wings didn't want to lock its peg into the leg and most of the parts don't seem to want to sit flush next to eachother. More than once it felt like the parts needed to be forced into position. I kept trying until I got things where they should be without forcing them. It looks really cool, definitely the most elaborate fighter mode I've seen... but aren't toys supposed to be fun, as well as looking cool? Oh well, it sits here swaying on its stand as I type. I'll probably have a go at taking off the armor in the morning.
  16. I just got my copy in the mail today. In some ways it's even better than the Valkyries book that came out a few years ago. I'd be disappointed that I can't read Japanese if the pictures weren't so gorgeous. It also seems to be an almost perfect reference for livery and warning signs.
  17. Here's my list. If I had a bigger Macross budget there would be a lot more Yamato stuff on there. 1/48 Yamato VF-1J Stealth version 1/60 Yamato VF-0S with QF-2200-DB Ghost Booster 1/60 V.2 Yamato VF-1S with Super/Strike parts 2x Yamato valkyrie stand Revoltech VF-1A Revoltech VF-1S Revoltech VF-1J Revoltech VF-1J Max Revoltech VF-1J Miria Revoltech YF-19 Revoltech YF-21 Revoltech Regult Toynami 1/100 VF-1J Max Bandai 1/55 VF-1A Cannon Fodder VT-1 Elintseeker fighter mode pencil sharpener VT-1 Elintseeker battroid mode pencil sharpener SDF-1 battroid mode pencil sharpener Monster pencil sharpener Banpresto VF-1A/J/S Super/Strike CMS Roy Focker CMS Misa Hayase 1/72 Hasegawa VF-1D fighter mode
  18. What I really need to make my Revoltech collection complete is a Fraulein Claudia LaSalle with Pineapple Salad accessory.
  19. They haven't really said yet. The current list is below. All of them are currently released. 034 VF-1J Super Valkyrie 034fs VF-1J Super Valkyrie Max Version (Revoltech Friend Shop Limited Edition) 034x VF-1J Super Valkyrie Miria Version (Hobby Japan Magazine Limited Edition) 036 VF-1S Strike Vaklyrie 038 VF-1A Super Valkyrie 051 Regult 053 YF-19 054 YF-21 I am really hoping for a VF-0, and all the various Destroids. I'm not getting my hopes up for a VF-25 because Bandai has the licensing for Frontier locked down pretty tight.
  20. I guess I'm getting pretty close to done with this image. Any final ideas or things I might be missing would be great to know about. With the notable exception of the original design of the Valkyrie, none of this is borrowed. The background is even a composite of 4 or 5 photos I took myself. As such I'll probably be posting this in the wallpaper thread (with a small watermark on the bottom), but aside from that please don't borrow it and repost it elsewhere. At least not without asking. Thanks!
  21. I think the answers to your questions are both "I'm not sure". If I had to guess I'd say they were in the ballpark of 350 polys each. Of all of the parts of my model I'm currently least happy with the missiles, so I don't know if I'd want them showing up in more stuff. My renders mostly hide the bits I don't like. Speaking of renders, here's a new one! Bonus sneak peak at the background I'm working on!
  22. More progress. Still workin' on it and still not done.
