A lot of the GoBots were pretty sweet toys, regardless of the cartoon and naming scheme. I wish I knew WTF happened to my old bucket o' GoBots.

So've I. It was just the best example I could think of. I don't even LIKE Ikaruga, but I insist that credit(blame?) for the game go to Treasure, where it belongs. Publishers getting the credit drives me crazy. I'd really like to see games get more like movies in one respect. Packaging. If they highlighted the people responsible for products, beyond the usual ZOMG MIYAMOTO nonsense, it'd be a lot easier to track who was actually doing the good work and who was just copycatting. Granted, if PN03 had been billed as "From the creators of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry!" people would've come in with even MORE incorrect assumptions about the game than the "Tomb Raider in space" expectations it got saddled with... Actually, maybe not. It was a pretty clear DMC descendant.

The Spiderman movie also idled for quite some time. The Metroid game has been licensed for a movie three separate times at this point, if I recall. None of which have ever gone anywhere.

Does anyone know if there's ANY plans for widescreen Animated DVDs? I'd like to not buy the current DVDs and then find out they did it RIGHT later. And you seem to be confusing a franchise installment fueled by nostalgia with a wholly original work. Though not wanting to bank on the brand's history WOULD explain why the leader is Optimus Prime, a name with no sentiment or history, instead of the legendary Skeleton Convoy. And why Optimus is voiced by some random dude off the street instead of the same guy that voiced him over two decades ago.

I'm just here for the point. I wasn't a fan of the book.

This bump is a masterpiece of nerd-dom, and a major milestone for internet civilization. I just want to take the time to applaud, and become a part of history. The fact that it was wasted on Jason VS Freddy makes it vaguely trollish, but... can't win 'em all.

Ditto. I looked at some of the reissues, and went "It's kinda neat, but... I like joints." I gather that's why Hasbro killed the reissue line. They weren't selling very well at all. Now.... there's a few reissues I WOULD pick up. If Sky Lynx was available for a reasonable price... Or if they reissued the original Shockwave... If I'd ever SEEN a Soundwave reissue, I'd've grabbed it. I never owned the original(though I DO own a cassette player in the shape of Soundwave's robot mode!).

Sega shouldn't get credit for MadWorld and Bayonetta. They're just the publisher. Platinum Games(AKA darn near every talented person Capcom ever had) is the developer. It's like giving Atari credit for Ikaruga.

I'm fairly certain, ESPECIALLY now that Endless Frontier's been announced, that they wanted OGs and OG Gaiden but were blocked by SCEA's licensing board. This shows that A. SRW is profitable for them, B. They haven't had any sort of falling-out with Bandamco, and C. They WANT to do more SRW.

You all know that if I get time travel I'm going to go back in time and make myself filthy stinking rich, right? And then I will buy Macross rights. TV series and movie and sequels. I'll negotiate a clear franchise mandate for myself, and get it in writing. Verbal contracts are for wusses. I was actually thinking of starting one. You snooze, you lose, I guess. Put me down for Sheryl. Aside from liking her singing, she was just an awesome character. Couldn't stand her at the beginning of Frontier, but she wound up being one of my favorites in the franchise.

I've only seen the SRWAlpha Dreamcast version of the ARMD attack, which was a simple mechaslap. It has it's own moments of hilarity, though. The DC version's camera had some issues with horrible size mismatches. So you'd get a closeup of the Macross' "foot" before the attack began. Then you'd see the ARMD come down and slap some poor fool silly.

Kakizaki Steak: Can only be ordered 5 minutes before closing. Seriously, Kakizaki never got to EAT his steak. That's the greatest tragedy. As I recall, he was about to take his first bite when the alarm sounded.

The VF-19 may've wound up like the VF-4. Just too expensive for most of the colony fleets. And the VF-171 is the VF-5, 5000, 6, 7, and 9.
