Ok, first of all; I'm not interested in anyone else's opinion on this. But I personally liked the ending to Neon Genesis Evangelion(Both the series and the movies).

It was hilarious. I loved it.

Yeah, I did read the plot, however a lot of times I find myself watching movies anyway to see how it was done, how well it was executed within the confines of that movie. Jem - Yes many of them were bashing HB's acting ability, but its Catwoman for chrissakes, this isn't supposed to be epic on any level. Eyecandy. Major - I was kidding. But hey, perhaps that was a window into my deep-seated presuppositions. As for continuity issues? Har... this coming from Macross fans.

If you re-read the thread, most of us have been quite clear and lucid about why we are not thrilled about this movie. Would you prefer us to mindlessly post replies like "OMFG, Aliens versus Predator will be the bestest thing ever!!11" Like I said, it will take more than a simple "Punch & Judy" meeting of two franchises to get me into the theater. I'm not excited by the prospect of Paul Anderson directing, and the story and character summaries have been lackluster at best. I've already left an open challenge on the previous page for AvP defenders to tell us why this movie will "own." You are right on one point; it's really too early to tell what the final product will be. But the initial signs do not point to a blockbuster. We cannot tell why it will own because we haven't seen the movie yet. Just like you can't tell it will suck. Right now, we really don't know much at all. Its like the Catwoman thread. People are basing whether or not the movie will suck on a costume shot.

I won't be saying it about the GameCube or anything else besides the SNES. That was, in my opinion, the golden age. Games have obviously come a long way since then... but only really in certain areas.

I totally remember how much fun I had with my SNES. I also remember how I have owned every single incarnation of the Gameboy, but I didn't get any good games until the GameBoy Advanced came out. .... go figure. Right now I have tons of fun with my GameCube, but not as much as my SNES. My circle of friends tells stories about their SNES and the awesomeness.

I had some fun with virtual boy, I'd play for hours with no headache. I guess a lot of people had problems though and it kinda died, for that reason I think it sucks. I think CD-i is worse though.

Who are you to say what was a "true" FF? As far as the games go, people like what they like. Same goes for the opposite.

I am by no means an RPG elitist, but I've played my fair share of console RPGs(The larger ones for PC leave me with an empty feeling because of the time investment... so I can't really sit down for 20 minutes and feel like I've accomplished something... but that's just my personal taste.) I play RPGs because to me, they're like interactive books. Final Fantasy 7 was a whole lot of fun in its day, but there's many other titles that I get more satisfaction out of(both tactics games included). I do intend to see this movie one way or another, regardless of my interpretation of the game ending(which incidentally is open ended enough for a multitude of interpretations[btw- Meteor obviously did NOT impact.]) Oh... and Aerith did suck. That armour looks stupid... and is impractical. Evas don't need armour unless they're facing an enemy that can get through an AT-Field(ie - Angels and all their derivations). The game looks like crap too, the N64 had the same graphics just about. They should release it on a better system... Xbox or GC.

Yeah, the FF ending was supposed to be everyone in Midgar at least ... transcending... or dying. On the whole, Final Fantasy 7 wasn't that great... but it got a lot of people into Final Fantasy... a new generation perhaps.
