Some comparisons: VF11 GNU vs VF11 1/144 Bandai model kit and YF 19 &21 GNU vs Revoltech. My final say is: GNU are stylish but exaggerately overpriced (they are really growing on me and the 11 is just gorgeous, but don't buy them if you want super-duper poseability, especially the 19 with its ugly knee articulation). The lack of fast packs is unforgivable, for their tag price. Revoltech are simply too cool and affordable to let them slip by. And they come with tons of accessories

No Valkyrie will ever be big enough short of a 1/1 .

Just think of the poor scheming villains deciding to go against Macross 7 instead of Frontier. Their ears would be in for such a big, big surprise

This is what makes this toy a no-buy for me: it is designed for 2 seater vErsions, but on 1 seater Valks the neck/body part is just plain ugly.

Yup, You beat me! I've picked up also a YF-19 and 21. i must say that VF11 remains my favourite, with YF21 close second. YF19 leg articulation leaves much to be desired, even if the figure in itself, while not really all that poseable, is quite good looking.

Is there a new opening?

Indeed Gamlin's death (for real, not just the it-was-just-a-flesh-wound thing we get here) would have been one of Macross's strongest moment. I think they didn't have the guts to make such a thing. But I must say I'm kinda relieved they didn't, as Gamlin is the best M7 character (for me, along with Gubaba!) and is pivotal to the series' ending.

Nekki Basara! Or Gubaba (both seem indestructible). But I'll go for Basara, since Gubaba won't apper on Frontier.

Right, she was indeed her for real. Gamlin wants to give Physica's kid the carillon his father made for him, goes out to visit him and his mother but when he sees them he imagines his comrade going back to his family (Physica is actually recognizable in the features of the man they see). He doesn't have the heart to break the terrible news to the kid and woman and runs away, asking himself why this had to happen (Physica dying). Thus said, the sequence is somehow willingly foggy, so everyone is entitled to his/her own vision of what happens.

Well, first of all you are assuming that Physica was a good husband/father when, in the few scenes he is present, doesn't come out as particularly brilliant. Secondly, you misanderstood the scene (perhaps it is due to the subtitles, that can be misleading): there is no man with his wife and child, Gamlin simply imagines Physica going back to his family but that scene of happyness (that will never be) tears him apart and makes him run away. That's it.

Cowboy bebop

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but the wings on the back of the VF11 are extendable. It's purely an aesthetic addition, but this is the only way to actually see the UN kite hidden by the backpack. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

Ever wondered what's the name of the heroic VF117 Diamond leader? Now we know: Machida!

As with episode 7, I was left with the impression that some scenes were edited out due to time constraints. I hope the DVD version will have some more minutes added. One a side note, in this episode I think the music didn't match the scenes in the right way, so the mood was a litlle off-balance. Ep 7 was much more "attuned" Am I the only one who don't like the ? Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for the subs!
