hey congrats! too bad my lady never gets me what i want!...she always gets me what i need like clothes/wallet/watch/& some other stuff that would be the last thing on my mind to purchase for myself. well..i guess if i didnt have her, i would be wearing no clothes, carrying a cc and cash in my pocket, and with nothing but macross gear. hahaha . anyways, you got a great lady in your life that is appreciative of your passions and hobbies!

hmmmm again. like most others im beginning to wonder if Sk really pushed back the launch date to the 22nd instead of the 7th. because of the huge publicity surrounding the 22nd date, i guess pretty soon we'll see some changes in the compendium ...

you know what?.....i've been thinking the same damn thing. arghhh!!! i wish i didn't have an addiction to cel collecting....cuz that's what i spend most of my money on. it all started with collecting 70's 80's japanese toys to now....anime cels (particularly dyrl)....whoops if mokman is reading this, i bet he'll harass me to setup that rubberslug gallery well i'm running off topic, but anyways i want this valk too...i hear a lot of great things about it. looks pretty accurate to the anime too.

hahaha!!! aww man, i can understand some of the humor in your criticism about episode 12 and macross seven. Quite frankly, frontier had some great moments that really satisfies someone like me. Ya, i agree it had some "cheesy" moments but over all the series had a great storyline, the designs were amazing, and most of all it had some kick ass combat scenes. in my opinion, it seems like the top dogs of this franchise wanted to produce a new series that can satisfy every fanbase of macross by combing all the qualities the public liked in each macross story. for me, episode 12, was actually pretty cool. we got reacquainted with some familiar faces and the zentradi power suits were freakin tite! Not to mention the last combat scene when alto rips that zentran mecha into two! as for the michel scene....ya it was kind of cheesy but at the end of the 1st song...i couldn't help but smile cuz ranka was so cute! as for macross 7...well, guys i hope no one flames me either but...in it's own right...it's kind of cool, however i couldn't watch the entire series because it just didn't feel like i was watching macross. Not that i have any right to say it plainly sucked, but i just wasn't excited over it, and believe me...i tried. the ironic thing is....my favorite valk is the vf17 ............and im not making this up. LOL. Now, don't get me wrong, theres some great episodes on 7 and dynamite such as the episode when millia flies in her old vf1a and when basara plays as hikaru in one of the dynamite episodes. some of the music was cool like seventh moon. ya, looking at 7 as a whole i can see why people appreciate it, but overall the series didn't appeal to me enough to honestly say i like it. -rust...rusted valk...

well said VFTF! i feel the same for the points you made....I love this site. while reading through this thread it got me to think..... and im sure this was expressed before in another topic, but i wish they animated a frontier movie that's different in the animation and story that parallels the same universe, much like dyrl. it's always fun to analyze between two different versions and point out what works and what doesn't. In the end i love both storylines. but the fact that i had funner memories as a child watching dyrl(clash of the bionoids) in comparison to robotech...i have to say, dyrl. but aside from all this, both complements each other on what both lacks in terms of story and animation.

my first exposure to macross was a fateful christmas in 84' when me and my brother was sitting inside my parents car waiting for my dad to come out of work... when suddenly my dad comes out w/ a brand new gakken 1/8 mospeada cyclone (still have it!) and a skyfire (still got that too!) it was the best christmas.....i really dont remember most of my christmas years, but this one was memorable cuz of the cool toys! although i had toys that somewhat relate to macross, i was not officially exposed to macross until that year my mother rented a few videos from our local korean rental store. she rented macross and mospeada videos (korean dubbed! can you believe that???) for me and my brother, this is where all the madness began....... i even remember the episodes i watched! for macross it was the episode when hikaru having the nightmare. and for mospeada it was the episode where yellow dancer had the concert while the rebels jacked the fuel. ( i was only 4 then, but this is how much of an impact macross and mospeada had made on me to rememder this for sooo long). THEN came robotech ............. then in 1991.....i came across clash of the bionoids.......then in 1993 + .........sci fi convention at the shrine auditorium that exposed me to DYRL, plus, 7! ...then the internet came around.........THE END> or is it??? BTW i should start a thread on how expensive the 1/55 valks were waaaaayyyyyy b4 the internet! damn...those things were like relics back then! i remember a strike goin for $800 a VT ostrich goin for $1000!!!! ( i don even know if these were complete or at least in c9 or c 10 quality!!) the price of these are much more affordable now; however, i feel very bad for those that bought a bunch of these back then.......just like stocks i guess... they go up and sometimes they go wayyyyyy down. !

Hello members, Do you guys think the stryofoam box's of the bandai and takatoku squeeze the legs of the toys too much? i am speculating if this is the reason why one of my minty valks has looser joints around the hips than some of my opened ghetto ones. I know the indentations on the box are designed to hold the toy in place, but what about long long term storage? what effects will this design have on our toys?

Hey fellas! just had a quick question.....im about to buy a strike from 3 potential sellers and i was wondering....how much do these run for nowadays in the box??? one is in C8 condition and the other two are in c9 condition.. Thanks guys!
