  1. That's probably what I get for not having read the manual still after what like 10 years lol. I know the plot is the strongest aspect of a dungeon crawler! If we were talking about the Ogre Battle title it would probably be a different story. Although I'd say that's still playable too. BTW Have you played Dive Alert? I'm looking to get something else and it's one of the games I don't have that at least looks interesting.
  2. To add to what valkfighter already posted here is DYRL Roy vs TV Roy. You can generate your own opinion
  3. Give them time. They release a RX-78 and MS-06 in like every line basically It annoys some people but I know I'm always looking for the "perfect" representation in a completed action figure form.
  4. Haven't taken it apart myself so I wouldn't know but I'd always seen it mentioned as analog. Not like it matters it's still a great. Biomotor Unitron 2 isn't hard to play if you can grasp the basics of Japanese. I have it somewhere but I haven't played it in forever so my memory is a bit fuzzy on specifics.
  5. But the best part about playing NGPC games is playing on the actual hardware. The analog stick on that thing is still one of the best (certainly a best on a hand held) analogs I have ever used. The NGPC is actually the only handheld I can be bothered to play fighting games on. All this reminds me that there's still a few more titles I wanted to pic up for it..
  6. I'm pretty happy with mine as well. Certainly there's some things that are still great about the previous MSiA 2.0 and EMSiA versions of the Zaku II but the RD Zaku II has it's own charms. The only complaint I have is that I have one with a bum leg cable on one side but maybe it's fixable. I'll have to try and modify it later. The Kampfer shotgun from the UC Arms set is pretty awesome. The picture/angle is kind of crumby but I've got both the old EMSiA and MSiA 2.0 (with that magazine exclusive set) pictured. Here's a link to another forum where I posted scans that show the magazine exclusive weapon set. http://z11.invisionf...?showtopic=1126 and here's another that has scans showing the UC Arms sets http://z11.invisionf...?showtopic=1139 I need to take comparison pics of all the Zaku II action figures now.
  7. The incessant exclusives do suck but Bluefin (Bandai distributor in US) is working on getting some kind of Bandai Webshop equivalent for those in the US. Hopefully it becomes a reality and prices aren't astronomical but only time will tell. I don't know if any of you guys are from GBiA but we've been talking about this on there. Anyone else get the RD Zaku II?
  8. I get the impression that slaginpit just feels like as an "early adopter" he has been gouged/taken advantage of, which is totally understandable. It's only natural to be disappointed if something you've purchased loses tremendous value in one large crash. The crashing American housing market comes immediately to mind. That said I bought all the 22s at full price and I have seen them as low as 70%(?) off. While surely I'm a bit disappointed by those particular turn of events I think the piece of mind of not having to wait, hunt and hope I can get such a deal outweighs any other factors for me.
  9. Pretty much my sentiments exactly. I'm cautiously optimistic for a new Blade Runner at this point. My expectations are so low for today's movies in general that exceeding them would not be hard. Also who cares about Ford? I want to know if Olmos will be in it
  10. Every videogame is literally a "role-playing" game. It makes no difference if the role you play is predetermined or not. "roll-playing" is a good way of making a good distinction I suppose but totally flies in the face of what has been established by PnP. It's nothing like PnP? Sure, again it's nothing like PnP. Not that that's bad but people are just so obsessed with labels they can't see past them. They should of just gave up on labeling ME as an RPG but they probably won't because then what would distinguish their brand/product? Of course, it's to be expected because of the various limitations in the medium (budget/time/manpower/etc). I totally understand why people are frustrated and I also understand that you can't expect (especially these days) a game of any sort to be truly open ended. I like the fact you can piece your gear together how you see fit in ME2 better but would of liked some more diversity that wasn't DLC and just a bit more in general really. "Thermal clip" just seems like silly nomenclature other than that and the story explanation for the switch the ammo system is better of course. I like Mass Effect but supposed genre aside let's face it, it's just another "space marine game". It may play kinda like Halo meets Total Fist Bump Destruction on steroids but in a lot of ways it's not as fun to play as either. I just want to finish my Shep story arc and move onto something else, hopefully something better.
  11. It's primarily Gundam (and it was used to fill the void created by Newtype Asylum/Gundam Watch/Gouf/Mark's/etc) so it might as well be "dedicated". I know what you're saying though even if it's splitting hairs. There's also a Gundam Action Figure board but it doesn't see a whole lot of traffic.
  12. I honestly can't say that I've ever heard anyone say or seen anyone post that. Not even in general sense unrelated to ME lol. Mostly I just see the "RPGs are about ROLE PLAYING!"
  13. I watch WH13 mainly for Allison Scagliotti but Eddie McClintock is pretty funny on the show which helps make it more bearable. Alphas is pretty mediocre honestly (as is most stuff on SyFy which is why I just watch it on demand when I have time) but I'm hoping it will pick up in a few eps. I am thankful it's not as convoluted as Heroes was at least. It certainly has potential. On a side note I keep having a feeling like I've seen something suspiciously similar to Alphas before. Have they played the pilot a while back and are just now airing the full series? or am I having a Deja vu moment?
  14. I never really said anything because I figured maybe I was just burned out on the Gundam Battle series (I've being playing them since the first installment) but I was pretty disappointed by assault survive and still am. GBU is just much more fun to play IMO. I'd certainly be up for a sequel if it was done better than AS but even more than that I'd like to see something in the vein of 0081 again. I think they really showed what Gundam could be on home console (without being rushed) again. Certainly the graphics were not as good as Crossfire/Target in SIght but basically everything else was better. It's great having a good Gundam game with an "original" narrative that's not on a defunct Sega system.
  15. The whole of Halo is garbage compared to Marathon so why do they even bother at all?
  16. From Kotaku Sony Europe's Michael Denny has said that "to the best of his knowledge" the Vita will, like Sony's previous disc-based PSP handhelds, be region-free.
  17. Yes, the originator of the school of the undefeated of the east and all that. What I meant is I don't understand what sunrise/tomino/bandai/whoever has against including it in the sets.
  18. I'll be really bummed if Sony goes the Nintendo route and starts using region coding on their new handhelds. My current PSPs are JPN models but I play my US games on them too so I'd either have to get two models or use some sort of eventual hack and either way is an inconvenience. Yeah, that's less than I paid for a PSP at launch.
  19. I would be beyond surprised if we get that episode locally based on "their" opinion of content and quality. Obviously I've seen the episode in question and I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about. I just hope it gets released in a slim pack or "anime legends" style because I don't need a huge boxset taking up a ton of shelf space.
  20. I'm not sure of the validity of the claim but I've seen it said/posted that HT makes some(?) of the Star Wars 1/6th for SideShow. I dunno for sure but I know they're definitely partners/affiliates to some degree.
  21. I don't have any personal experience but here is a couple of threads from 1/6th Warriors http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/sixth-scale-action-figure-news-reviews-discussion/62905-rah-punisher.html http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/search.php?searchid=1458497 I'm not a fan of the Medicom stuff really. Seems really pricey for what you get generally.
  22. The website does but it's the same as Gamestop's. Until about 2(?) years ago some of the stores still had EB signage in my area though. 9's pretty good too but most people complain it's too easy with the exception of Ozma. For the record this is coming from someone who started with FF1 I give credit to X-2 for having a job system again even if it was a "dress sphere system" and I guess 12's attempt to recreate WRPG's script system was admirable as well. Not a huge fan of either game though.
  23. Maybe if you're insecure you get offended when people call them dolls Sure it's mostly semantics and GI Joe worked hard to change the nomenclature back in the day to "action figure" but they have clothes, kit and BB so they're dolls and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm really not impressed by anything HT does other than the HS. The bodies really aren't anything special in the 1/6th scale market now and a lot of times the sets are really short on accessories/kit. I think I prefer the craftsmanship on SS stuff anyway. I remember that old Hicks, I wasn't really sure what all the fuss was about back then because really it wasn't all that impressive IMO. If you want to talk vehicles, although probably not as detailed 21st century did a bang up job on their 1/6th line and all of it was super affordable. I still have a little bird (the black version) and it's excelllent for the most part. There was some problems with the rotors but I fixed them in place and I've had it hanging from my ceiling since forever now. The IM armoured stuff is literally a scaled up 1:18th or whatever action figure with a nice face. Maybe I'd be interested if they had a BB but they don't so it's not really true 1/6th to me at least. I am really happy with my RE1 version Wesker but other than that not much sticks out in my mind. The RE1 version Chris with the Muscle body is a joke
