    Super Ostrich

Hey ya'll! I was excited that I finally got one of the gems I had been looking for for many years. It is not MIB or anything, but I bought it on eBay for $79.99. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
  2. I enjoyed my first trip to the LA area and I really wouldn't have made it out there if I couldn't have gone to both MWCon and AX. Thanks to EXO, Solscud and BoBe-Patt for carting me around that weekend! I'd love to come back for the next one, if finances permit.
  3. I get angry when Solscud finds cheap toys too - especially when they were supposed to be purchased by me!
  4. Remind me not to ever buy anything off of you again I'm the same way, and my hinge pin fell out after transformation #2 or #3, before I even brought it home from work... 419391[/snapback] Hahahaha! Too funny!
  5. I'm glad that these are coming out, although I would really love the TV Max and Kakizaki 1A valks (as well as the 2 seaters). Hopefully Yamato will continue the production.

    My Collection

    Nice stuff, dude!
  7. Nice! Keep the pics coming (with the valk in the other two modes).
  8. So cool! Rohby makes the best stuff! Too bad it would cost too much for me to get one!
  9. Nice work! I'm a hand painting customizer as well, so I can appreciate the time that goes into one of those. Well done.
  10. I agree, haterist, but the HCMs were 1/72 scale, not 1/100.
  11. Chill, bro! You are getting worked up over the canopy. True, it could be clearer, but ......... it's not. I'm just glad we have nice looking and good quality valkyries available to us.
  12. I think there was a 1/144 VF-1S Roy as well.
  13. Married, huh? Congrats! Married life is pretty great.
  14. Great work, bro! If I only had half as much talent and patience as you........
  15. Another problem for me on the new 1/100s is the fact that the neck is too tall and it makes the battroid look a little silly - like a "stork-valk." No valk is truly perfect, but I would think that they could fix that issue. You can see this problem best in the pics that Bobe-patt pasted earlier in this thread. Otherwise, for $20 a valk, it's not too bad.
  16. I always wanted a TV Max, so if anyone asks, that's my answer. I don't mind making customs out of 1/55s, but I haven't had the guts to take apart a 1/48 yet.
  17. I hope that my first review was helpful, but here are some more answers. The joints on the valk are tight (sort of) at first. The only problem is that most parts do not have "locks" to hold them in place. It's more of a "friction lock" system for transformation. I have not yet put the missles on the valk, so I can't answer that part, but the valks are about 6 inches tall or so. As for MSRPs, there were none listed, but I was told that the valks are to be $25 a piece, so MY GUESS would be that the armor packs would be about $20 each (but that's only a guess).
  18. OK - I got one of these "exclusive" items at AX and here's what I can say at this point (no pictures yet). First, the pros. The toy is made entirely of plastic (no die-cast) and is of fairly decent quality. The toy is also fairly poseable and transforms with relative ease. It comes with removable landing gear, heatshield/canopy switchout and a display stand. The cons. The lack of die-cast in itself is not a con, but its lack of structure/support makes for a difficult toy to display properly. The slightest nudge and the figure will bend in an unintentional way. This makes it very hard to pose symetrically. Its accessories are also small due to the scale, so some of the items (like the wing missiles, etc.) are somewhat useless in my opinion. Paint application is fairly consistant and detailed adequately for the size/scale, but you need to apply the stickers to complete the "paint scheme" for the valk. All in all, it's an OK buy for $25, but you get exactly what you pay for. These are similar in design to the Banpresto, but admittedly with far better quality. Fast packs and other valkyrie variations are on the horizon and I hope one of the other boys on here can provide pics (Pat). Hope this helps. *EDIT - I see the Pat has already posted pics. Thanks, bro!
  19. Just got back to Houston after my first trip to the LA area and I had to say that I had a great time at AX and at the MWCon. It was really fun to finally put a face with all the names I've known for a few years here. Special thanks to BobePatt, EXO and Solscud for hooking me up with a place to stay (thanks, Alex) and taking me all around SoCal for all this stuff.
  20. I may have finished 4th (right out othe prizes, dammit), but I did have the honor of taking Pat out of the tourney! HAHAHAHA! (Sorry, buddy!)
  21. I see that a lot of us want that VF-2SS from Macross II! C'mon, Yamato - help us out!
  22. Saw it last night at the pre-showing (10 pm in Houston) and I thought it was quite good. It's hard to do wither a re-make or a continuation due to the risk of hardcore fans of the original series criticisms. Much like the new Battlestar series has critics that are displeased with plot/character changes, Superman Returns has many of those same obstacles to overcome. That being said, it was well done and at least faithful to what the original movies had in mind.
  23. I voted for the TV Kakizaki, but (and leaving the TV max for a full run), but what I really want is a VF-2SS and VF-2JA.
