  1. My favorite is definitely the VF-22s. Specifically the black one Gamlin was piloting in Dynamite 7. Max and Milia's red and blue versions were pretty nice as well... I think the VF-2ss is my second favorite.
  2. If I could have voted for "Bye Bye Sheryl" and "First Attack", I would have. But I figured that episode 5 needed some more loving so I voted for that one. I thought the ending was perfect. edit: I haven't seen the latest episode yet though. I suppose I should qualify my response.
  3. Vulpix posted this this morning in the Something Awful forums. I thought it was pretty spot on
  4. Actually, I heard that after the theatrical release, they are going to release it on DVD and in HD formats (HD-DVD/Blu-Ray/Both) simultaneously. This might actually be the movie that makes me break down and get an HD setup. I really want that 1080i internet oddity though. I guess I should start searching.
  5. So they can buy robotech toys at toy stores in Tokyo, but we can't buy decent Macross toys at toy stores in the US? That's no fair. Nice finds though.
  6. Wow, this is really looking good so far. You're doing a really good job, keep it up!
  7. Hey, rag on Macross II all you want. It may not be the greatest of the entire series, but now that I look back on it, if it wasn't for Macross II being released in the states, I'd probably be watching Robotech and not knowing the difference. Like I said, it probably isn't the best Macross has to offer, but it was good enough to get me into it. And for that it will always hold a special place in my heart.
  8. I recently read V for Vendetta and loved it. I think the whole point about V was that as a man, he would be just a man, but as a symbol he would be invincible. If you knew who he was, it would ruin it. My dad saw me reading V for Vendetta and said that I needed to read The Watchmen after I finished. My god that was a good comic book. Apparently there's still some hope for it to be translated into a movie too. I have to say that I think The Watchmen would be a far greater movie than V for Vendetta if it was done correctly. The only problem is that there's so much stuff going on in the comic. It would be next to impossible to keep a movie completely faithful to the source, but I can always hope can't I?
  9. That's awsome. I need to start reading the manga again. I stoped at volume 2.
  10. I think if it's done extremely well it would be watchable just to see the mechs and stuff. But there's just no chance at all for it to be done that well. We'll see.
  11. Moya (Farscape) 75% Deep Space Nine (Star Trek) 69% SG-1 (Stargate) 63% Nebuchadnezzar (The Matrix) 56% Serenity (Firefly) 56% Andromeda Ascendant (Andromeda) 50% Enterprise D (Star Trek) 50% Millennium Falcon (Star Wars) 44% FBI's X-Files Division (The X-Files) 44% Babylon 5 (Babylon 5) 38% Bebop (Cowboy Bebop) 38% Galactica (Battlestar: Galactica) 25% Sign me up. I wish the Enterprise was in second though.
  12. I actually just finished watching it. It covers the beginning of the manga, which is pretty much the only part they were faithful to in the TV show. It may seem like a remake right now, but I guess if they remain faithful to the manga longer than the TV show did it'll be top notch stuff. Very well done I think. Subtitles were fine too.
  13. The .mkv does come with a read me. It says you should download VLC Media Player. I downloaded that a while ago for something else, but it plays .mkv's like a champ. Didn't have to download any codecs or anything.
  14. http://www.bloodknight.net/OVA.html It say's the next one will be released March 6th. I don't have any idea how accurate or reliable that is though. I have no idea about the OST.
  15. I'm not sure yet. It's apparently very good quality video / audio so it's it's 700mb and 50minutes long. Subtitled by BF-BoH? I've never heard of em. http://taldora.homeunix.net:6969/torrent.h...80f3174ce64fa0d It's MKV format and has soft subtitles with it. 24fps too. Apparently the RAW that was released was 120fps. That's an ridiculously high number for people with anything short of a powerhouse PC, and 24 is just fine for a fansub IMO. Again, I can't find anything that say's I can't post a link to this torrent file, but if there's a rule somewhere that I couldn't find in the FAQ please notify me and I'll remove the link ASAP. Don't want to make anyone mad.
  16. Well, I searched and couldn't find anything on this. Apparently the the first episode of the new Hellsing OVA was released on Feb. 10th. As usual, I can't find any decent information on it. Has anyone seen it yet? What do you think? I liked the TV show, but it kinda got wacky after a while, with the creating characters that weren't in the manga and all. I've heard that this OVA is supposed to follow the manga more closely, but you know. That's basically all I've heard. Here's the link for anyone who can read Japanese. http://www.geneon-ent.co.jp/rondorobe/anim...sing/index.html NINJA EDIT: Interesting how I didn't capitalize OVA in the title REAL EDIT: Sweet Baby Jesus, like 10 minutes after I posted this someone on another forum posted a link to a fansub of the first episode. I won't go into anymore detail unless I get the ok from someone higher up (There's all sorts of iMacross stuff floating around this forum, and you can buy Macross in the US, so I don't see why it would be that bad.. )
  17. I think this will at least look good. I mean it's obviously lacking in the story department, but from what I've seen of the trailer the action sequences seem to be well done if not a little cheesy. When I first head of this a couple years ago, I thought it had something to do with the Ultraviolet mini-series from the UK. That was really well done, too bad they aren't continuing that
  18. I agree with that completely, but I don't see anyone watching it unless Gibson's in the new one too. That is the problem that I see.
  19. I've never even heard of this series. Sounds interesting though. Just think of it this way. You're probably one of the 5 to 10 people who have actually watched the show and picked up on it's references. Kudos to you.
  20. He's not even supposed to have an animated avatar. Roy will delete it once he sees it. 360992[/snapback] Hmm. I was unaware of that bit of info. I'll change it right now. </Derail> Those were freaking funny.. I liked the first the best though. Check this out. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/40244 Apparently they made a ridiculous ammount of reels for bloodrayne. Oh darn. The numbers seem a little bit much even for a screw up though.
  21. I've been following this for a while, and I was almost certain that it was a bogus rumor. I had also heard that the tax loophole that made Dr. Bol such a desirable director was no longer available / on it's way out. Anyway here are the facts. All of his movies are flops. The past three have made considerably less in the box office than they cost to make, and this is going to make people that count hate him too. That and I can't see Kojima giving up his baby. I don't think he could be that far out of the loop to let someone like Bol use the Metal Gear name.
  22. That's what I want to know too.. It may not be a ton of stuff, but it's a decent amount, with a lot of display room.
  23. Check this out. http://simhq.com/_air5/air_174a.html
  24. I guess it's more a cult classic than anything, but The Warriors just flat out sucked. I mean, everyone always tells me how "bad ass" it is and that it's just great, but even to me it's the most unrealistic crap fest ever to hit my eyes. That's not to say I've seen worse movies though.. I have to say that Blade Runner could have been put together a little better, but I still think it's amazing. I do like the theatrical version better than the directors cut just because it feels like there's more to it, but thats it. Yeah the unicorn scene is ridiculous, but what are you gonna do? It's one shot out of the whole movie. I don't even understand how people could think Deckard is definitely a replicant by his dreams, but whatever. I'm fairly sure that the voiceover narration was put in after the first screenings because the audiences complained that they weren't able to follow the movie. Back then there was no VHS to watch the movie more than once or twice, so they added it in for people to be able to follow it the first time they saw it. At least that's what I read on IMDB.
