Don't forget a number of poor souls got burned by BBTS on the 25S. I didn't, but damned if I'm going to let anything like that happen to me.

Seeing the 27 battroid reminds of me the 1940s Batman serial. Where's my goddamn renewal 27, Bandai?

Yep, I potentially have two YF-29s and three VF-171s coming because of this preorder madness. If I end up with extras, they're going on the auction block, unless the toy is just too many kinds of awesome to part with. I've always been content with ordering only ONE of any valkyrie, but thanks to these preorder shenanigans that Bandai is responsible for, I feel the need to order from more than one place just to secure ONE for myself.

I love how wonderfully simplistic the transformation is for the 25 series.

OMG! The joint holding the center chest plate with the skull insignia should be purplish colored, not grey! /cancel preorder

So did everyone who wanted a 171 manage to get a preorder in?

Maybe someone will cancel. I didn't get my 25S preorder in until almost mid-January when I think someone canceled. Preorder opened up and closed again right after I put in my order. Just gotta be lucky and be there at the right time. But glad I got an HLJ order in this morning when I got up.

Curse having a day job! I would've put in an order at BBTS since I'm honestly unsure that I will get one through my Anime Export preorder.

So we've gone from righteous anger at Bandai to hoping our fellow MWers get screwed. If only there was a word in German that expressed joy at others' misfortune.

I'm with you on this. Lots of Macross stuff coming out in the next few months...

Oh my god! I must have those!

I was in Tokyo when the 25F was released, and though I scoured as many toy and hobby shops as I could, I managed to find only one 25F being sold at full retail price (14000 yen). And a YF-29 being sold for 36000 yen. This is just the experience of one person though, so take it for what it's worth.

Thank goodness I was already registered with AE from my YF-29 order. If I had to stop and register as a new customer, I wouldn't have made it in time; preorder had been open for like 10 minutes before I got to my computer because I was busy showering. That's right. I nearly missed out because I bathe daily.

Whew! Got my order in just in time! Was stuck in checkout for like 10 minutes!

If Bandai is so goddamn risk averse, they really ought to just allow Yamato to produce Frontier valkyries. Then Yamato takes the risk, Bandai gets to collect a % of the profits with little risk to themselves, and we might actually be able to buy without having to camp out websites in the hope of catching that tiny preorder window or dealing with scalpers. I'd be willing to pay more for a VF-171/25/27 if the quality was on par with Yamato's VF-19.

Not making money is not making money, whether it's because you produce too many or produce way too few.

Well grats to those who managed to snag one. For the rest of us, we'll just have to console ourselves with one of Yamato's offerings later this year.

The fact that it happened in the middle of the night isn't what's really pissing people off. Being available for scarcely 5 minutes is what's ticking me and others off. Japanese aren't limited to a handful of online shops like we are, and those shops have English sections for a reason. Also, HLJ was started to serve international customers. Nice try, though.

F U BANDAI. Preorders open for like 5 minutes overnight? Wonderful. Some of us have to actually sleep and work in the mornings.

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie
Lolicon replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I do blame them. Having reasons, good or bad, does not absolve Bandai of their responsibility in creating the current climate of shortages and scalping. By that same token, scalpers and those willing and able to pay such high prices and enabling said scalpers are also culpable. As are those who will only buy when there's a clearance sale. Such things don't encourage companies to produce more if it's just going to warm a shelf. So yeah, Bandai is still being pretty tightassed with their Macross releases. -
Not getting much work done today, between checking this thread and constantly checking all my preorder shops.

I've never been more pleased to be wrong about Bandai! I hope everyone who wants one will be able to get one without resorting to eBay. The last couple of releases have been kind of a bitch to get.
