  1. Man, I screwed this poll up!
  2. What's the difference between TV and DYRL again? The pilot figure and a marking on the head or something???
  3. I identify with Max. -I've been blessed with talent for operating "machinery". Everything I try I'm immediately good at. For example when I started roadracing motorcycles I went from complete noob to a Pro that was setting lap records and winning nationals in under 2 years. If I wasn't alreday over the hill when I started racing (27) I would have jumped to Wold championship level racing in short order. I had the opportunities. I just didn't capitalize on them because it was never going to go anywhere. And, I was racing for fun, not a living. I was also immediately good at roadracing cars, rally racing cars, drifting, cross country snowmobile racing, mountain biking, etc. I have no idea where this came from. I do not come from "racing heritage" even a little. -I'm actually pretty introverted/quiet....until I'm in my circle of friends. Then I open way up up. I purposely don't have any pictures of myself online so people don't bother me at events. I'm in the hot rod/racing business. I don't even wear my own swag at events, trade shows, race weekends, etc so I can move around unnoticed. I really don't want to talk to people. -For some crazy reason I punch way above my weight class when it comes to the fairer sex. I don't know why, I'm not particularly good looking, but I'll take it.
  4. And naturally, you live in Vegas.
  5. I alreday have three (shipping soon) thanks to @RedComet. Thanks RedComet! I'm going to have to pick a few more up though. It will be a bloodbath........that I'm not going to mess with. I'll wait for release day like I did the VF-1S Hikaru and scoop a couple up. Did I end up paying more in the long run? Sure. But not a ton. And I didn't need to worry about the stress. Heck, I had my Hikaru's faster than most people who PO'd them. A lot faster.
  6. Bobby Skullface just posted a video about 3P and KO's. He went into the history of them getting shut down, raided, etc to give context to I can't remember what company just got raided (supposedly). Apparently companies like Bandai and Disney wield a lot of power and go after KO's HARD. I suspect it's a matter of them having more money for bribes than the KO company does. I suspect that Macross stuff is not heavily KO'd because it's not actually that big of a market and that companies like Bandai that have a really big stick can do some damage. Watch this video. Some of these KO's are loosing massive amounts of money in seized/destroyed product, getting huge fines and higher ups are doing jail time. It's pretty interesting. I was shocked at how much inventory some of these places have. I imagined KO's to be smaller scale.
  7. This^^^^^^^ My toys get transformed once (if that) and put on display never to be transformed again. I'm not interested in toys as something to play with. To me they fill the same space as art (I have a lot of that too). All I want to do is look at them. I am VERY serious about displays though. Everything from the selection of what is getting displayed, how it's displayed, how it's lighted, etc. I view my display cabinets as their own "piece". The whole cabinet needs to make sense and be attractive. The toys are sub pieces to that. This is also why if I get something that has multiple mods I generally buy one for each mode (so I don't have to change the display). Also, everything gets displayed. If I can't display it, I don't get it. I'm not interested in keeping things in boxes at all, having "full sets", etc. I don't understand, nor do I need to, the desire to have a bunch of toys in boxes. In that sense I'm not a "collector". Everyone has their own way of doing things to scratch their particular itch. Would I prefer that the toy was more durable? Absolutely. Do I care? Not if I can get it transformed once without breaking it I don't.
  8. For sure! I belong to a private club (sound a lot more swanky than it is) that we can do just about anything we want. We have a lot of steel targets. We'll set up a 200m course of fire that will drain six AR and five pistol mags (all my belt will hold) to clear. It's super fun being able to set up whatever you want. We're trying to raise enough money to get a shoot house built out there too. Those are tons of fun! Gonna have to get me some Alien targets I think.
  9. Inspired by the "Where is your airplane peasants?" meme. Just pokin fun. Jokes people, jokes.
  10. I have plenty of real rifles. A very good friend of mine is an old timer who is a master machinist/fabricator and was a Master Class USPSA shooter. He's made guns from scratch more than once. His most recent challenge was a bullpup. He bought a Tavor (sp) which is actually really nice to shoot. A little heavy, but nice. He wanted to see if he could do something better and built a one off bullpup using a LOT of carbon fiber and magnesium chambered in 300 Blackout. It's really sweet. He's also a HUGE Sci Fi and Fantasy fan. I asked him yesterday about building a couple functional pulse rifles. One for each of us. We're going to take a look at the replica when it comes in and maybe buy one of the DIY kits to use as a starting point. The plan is a rifle round. Most likely 556 but maybe 300 Blackout. And definitely an under slung shotgun "grenade launcher". We're both slammed all summer. Hoping to get to it this winter. I'd love to whip that sucker out at the range and start yelling quotes from the movie! Mostly Hudson quotes. This whole scene.
  11. Roy wouldn't take his choice seriously.
  12. Well, because I'm a spoiled child with bad impulse control I ordered the Pulse Rifle Weathered Edition. I hope I'm happy with it.
  13. I'm going to keep this to SDFM and DYRL to keep it manageable. The question isn't what character do you like the most. It's which one do you think represents who you would be if you were a Macross character. That could be the same thing of course (you narcissistic twit), but I imagine for most it's going to be two different people. I threw some of the women in there for the two or three women that post here and those of you comfortable enough with your manhood to make a choice like that. I figured this would be a fun topic while we're waiting for more releases and screwed up shipping timelines. And this may give us more insight into our fellow members. If you feel like writing something about why you think the character represents you fire away. This could be interesting. It will also be interesting if some of you identify with the "bad guys". -------------------------------------------------------------------- I identify with Max. When I started thinking about this I'm surprised that's what I came up with. He's not my favorite character. At best he ranks third.

    Bandai DX VF-31

    That is a good deal!
  15. Well, we could get Bandai'd.
  16. We have a winner!
  17. Well crap. I've tried talking them into sourcing me some of those lights alreday. They act like I'm asking for nuclear launch codes. You would think that after buying $6000+ in cabinets from them they would put the extra effort in. Thanks for the reply.
  18. Nice cab? Where did it come from? I have been searching for lights like that but I can't find them so save my life.
  19. If you got extras by mistake (I think a few people mentioned they did) I'd like to pick up a second. PM me if you want to get rid of one. Thanks!
  20. With fresh eye and maybe a little confirmation bias the rifle looks browner in the movie pics to me now.
  21. Soooo much win going on here!
