    Macross Revoltech

    I see a 21, a 19 and a regult? Am I missing any others?
  2. Yeah, if you don't get it as close to the original as possible then it is just a custom hikaru 1s. I also painted the arm and leg stripes red which I don't often see. And the Tailfins and leg fins I reversed and painted. I did the head laser housing flat black and the headlasers themselves gunmetal. Painted the front airvents red and did some custom black stripes on the leg armor because they just looked to plain. I even painted the strike cannon because well, it was there. I'm pretty happy with the way he turned out but the actual valk itself has some early manufacturing problems so I don't do much with it. The backpack hinge piece falls out of place too easily and the front vent plops down. It's pretty, just not as functional as I would like. I might make some corrections to those areas to get them to work better.
  3. Yeah I bought a bunch of Autobot sets from reprolabels. The silver, the clear and the jetfire. I did things a bit differently then most. Like painting the black stripes red. It came out pretty good, I might do another to sell. Not sure yet.
  4. Here are a few pics of the Jetfire custom I finished awhile back. Haven't had a chance to take good pics yet but once I get my next two customs done I will be taking some nice quality ones. Enjoy for now.
  5. Hey, there are a ton of things that never really get off the ground. Otomo's Domu almost ended up in the hands of James Cameron right before Titanic. It would've been one of his next projects.
  6. Dizammmm... so how much are the kits gonna cost( I think I want like 2, or maybe 10)? Do we have to wait til then to find out? Also have the dates been finalized yet? Will most likely be there but can't say for sure til I find out the actual dates. Also will it come with all parts or just be an add on to the cap kit?
  7. Now I wonder what is in the foreground of that pic? Looks kinda like a 1D kit, nah it couldn't be the infamous almost finished 1/48 1D kit with opening canopy could it?

Someone on ebay is selling a destroid done in legos. I'm pretty sure they just built it on there and are selling versions.
  11. They are, actually they are slightly tan while Milia's are more of a cool bluish grey.
  12. Well I sure hope it's less then two hundred. I don't see how people think it'll be less then 100 w/ fastpacks. I'm guessing it'll be around 150 with fastpacks and a little over 100 without. Probably in the same ballpark as the Zero series even though it'll be smaller.
  13. Was there this much excitement on the board when the 1/48th scale was announced? The original 1/60th? Honestly, maybe it's the completist in me but it is hard for me to get excited about this new line when they didn't even finish the old one. If they had done some two seaters or even the cartoon color variations without the two seaters then I would probably be more excited about this. Why the hell would I support a new scale line when there is no way to know if they will finish it or not. Yamato has gotten enough of my money for a half complete line, why should I shell out even more for a line they will most likely stop supporting (lose interest in) in a few years. Everyone seems really positive and optimistic on this but I find it hard to even think about adopting this new line until it's way closer to completion or at the very least halfway there. Yamato should put out a release date list, it wouldn't have to be set in stone. It could just show the order they plan on releasing the versions and a rough outline of how often. Show what ones they even had intentions of making. That would give me a little more incentive to pick some up. Either way, I think I will pass for now. At least that will let me sit back and watch all the bugs get ironed out before I put anymore money in their pockets. I'm just suprised more people on here aren't a little more jaded and a lot more skeptical about Yamato's plans.
  14. Is it just me or is that a green 1/60 Q rau in the first scan?
  15. Just got order confirmation. It'll be delayed til the 25th.
  16. SDCC is a blast. I always say anyone can go and have fun, and everyone should go at least once. Last year was my final one though. It's become to big for it's own good. They are definitely moving comics and merchandise to the back of their priority list and ramping up movie premieres and hollywood celebs. In the next few years we will most likely see less comic related movies but I am not sure that will change what has already happened to SDCC. Much like how cartoon network shows live action and MTV doesn't show music.... San Diego COMIC con just really isn't about the comics anymore. Last year was my 11th year. I've seen it grow from around 20-30k all the way to 120 k or whatever it was last year. It was nice that my final one was my son's first though, and hey he totally got to meet a Suicide Girl. Dude is such a mack for a 1 year old.
  17. Wife bought me the vf1s and 1a revoltech and the Anniversary set from Valk Exchange. Won't see that til next year but I have a very sneaky suspicion that she also got me the VF1J max (for my vf1d custom) and the 1/100 Monster. All in all it should be a rockin christmas in our household. Especially if I finish the two customs I am currently working on, this weekend.
  18. Thanks, look for more soon. As soon as we are through the holidays I should have some time to wrap up some customs and post some pics of all my new loot. I need to order a new Detolf as I have almost completely run out of room. I already had to move my alternators and masterpiece transformers out.
  19. I'm working on two right now. The Hikaru VF 1S is the best valk to start with, although the roy works as well. When painting you will need to at least rough up the surface of the tampo printing as the paint doesn't like to adhere as much to that. I suggest krylon fuzion safety red/ red pepper, Wal mart carries it. I'm doing two at the same time so that I can sell one to pay for the other.

    My Double D's

Actually in the process of making my VR 1D as well. Nice to see another one out there.
  21. I saw one at Frank and sons this weekend for 250 I think. Treasure Island were the ones selling it. You might want to check them out on eBay or through their site. TISINC is what they go by on ebay but I'm not sure what their online site is. Someone on here can tell you I'm sure.
  22. 1/48: 21 (18+3 in the mail) FP: 12 GBP: 03 1/60: 11 (07+4 in the mail) FdB: 02 MPC 1/55: 04 MPC FP: 02
  23. For the heatshield I would suggest sanding behind it with a fine grit paper to remove the paint then wetsanding it to remove and scratches and painting that. For paints I've used Krylon Fusion on my customs with the best results. Other paints I used tended to chip a ton.
  24. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?q...rty=MetaEndSort There is a link to an ebay decal search, I know it's in 1/48th but there are a ton to choose from. I've run across the red star ones on there many times. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?q...rty=MetaEndSort There is a link to the 1 60th scale decals. Not as many to choose from but you might find something.
  25. I don't have working knowledge of the program you are using however there is a chance this might help you. If it has a luma keyer you might want to try that. Since there is now color in the BG a chroma keyer may not work as well. A luma keyer is made just for that. You can invert the matte that comes out of it. If not then you might want to see if the program has any roto tools. If it does then all you have to do is make a spline shape and animate that throughout the shot. It really isn't as hard as it might seem. With a ship or something that is not organic half the time you only need keyframes on every 40 frames or so. It is much more monotonous on organic shapes. I was a compositor on over 20 films and did roto for quite a few of them. Most of the work I did had key pulling of some type.
