yeah, i'm not for or against m7 but really, how can you judge an entire serise off of 10 min of one show?? imho the first 3 futuramas were pretty weak but its one of my favorite serise. this thread only gets 2.3 grams of respect from me on the grounds that not enough effort was taken by the poster. I loved Futurama from the very first few minutes of episode 1. The Suicide Booth with Fry and Bender crancked me up!

Countries in bold are in ESA together with other European countries and they are planning manned missions into space, or more concrete, to the moon to build a permanent base that might act like a springboard to Mars. I'd like to see the private SS1 which did a wonderful job out there, do that with a tight budget. True, the spirit is present in the SSL1 crew working often in their free time and on a low salary whereas government space agencies depend rather on politics than pioneering spirit, bravery and pride, which they certaintly don't have a lack of. Politicians are the bosses and they are not always having the same agenda all the time and need to juggle with their budget in a sluggish burocracy. Preparations for a manned missions to the moon might be scrapped by the next (leftish) EU government if they rather see the money goes to the relief of 'poor' economical immigrants whom flow like water into Italy in search for wealth, to pick a brunt example. Politicians decide here, not enthusiastic small private crews.

It's "Dekarucha". It was discussed in some other thread. It was subtitled in some Macross game or something. I forgot. Dont think its actually Japanese tho. But its still fun to say! "DEKARUCHA!!!" In the newbie thread both words were mentioned, I just prefer "dekalcha" more and pronounce it that way. It's not Japanese, it's made up Zentran.

Thanks for the explaination. If they have anti-grav for atmospheric flight, the manouvering jets and thrust vector nozzles should be sufficient. If you want to add more LRMs, isn't there enough space under the wings? Or maybe enlarge the wings (other variant, for better atmospheric flight) for more LRM payload and add rear AA missiles anyway.

If flying in atmosphere, mines would be useless due to planitary gravity, so missiles would be the more logical choice. But this is a fast interceptor, it makes lightning slicing attacks straight through nme formations, so any battle would be preferably short and intense. Rear missile banks or mine hatches would be kinda useless imho. Unless it is a less manouverable 'Broadsword' (still love that Wing Commander design ) class bomber, flying like slug on wings, trying to make it to the main objective. But if you do want to add rear defensive/offensive weaponry, may I suggest slits somewhere in the fuselage -maybe by adding 'bumps' onto it- to carry micro-missiles with multiple warheads? Somewhat the same idea as passive chaff, but with 99% chance to hit nme missiles by actively seeking threats and damage/destroy nme fighters that are too close on the tail of this interceptor. Just a quick brainstorm. I forgot: do the wings have enough lift when flying within atmosphere? Adding panels for vector-thrusting on the exhaust of the engines might help improve the manouverability without having to use the bottom manouvering thrusters extensively just to keep it in the air and create more lift? I'm not an expert in flying though, dunno if it works.
